Speaking of shunning, there have reportedly been protests throughout the Gaza Strip against continued Hamas rule. The most prominent of the protests took place in the northern Gaza Strip. Jerusalem, Israel - March 27, 2025 - The Interior Ministry in Jerusalem has announced a significant change in the student visa application process, moving almost all applications to be handled via email.
Until now, family applications for student visas with four or more members were processed through email, while others could be submitted in person at the Interior Ministry. Under the new policy, the vast majority of student visa applications and renewals will now be accepted exclusively by email, eliminating the need for applicants to visit the office in person.
In-person applications will only be accepted in urgent cases, and applicants must provide proof of the urgency. To accommodate the increased volume of email applications, the Interior Ministry is adding more staff to ensure ...

Baltimore, MD - Updated Jan 2025 - Many of us are quite familiar with the regular Erev Pesach routine: The bechorim go to a siyum, the chometz is burned, and we prepare for the Seder. However, every so often, Erev Pesach occurs on Shabbos and we must modify our routine. Let us review the halachos of Shabbos Erev Pesach. (After this year, it will not occur for another twenty years. The next occurrences will be in 2045, 2048, 2052, and then not again until 2072.)
Thursday – Taanis Bechorim/Bedikas Chometz On a regular Erev Pesach the first-born males (bechorim) are obligated to fast. This year the fast is pushed back to Thursday. A Chasidishe bachor from New York returned a bag filled with diamonds, jewelry, and cash to a businessman he had never met before, PIX11 reported.
Last week, the young hasid was returning home from his yeshiva in Israel to spend Passover with his family, when an taxi driver transporting him from Newark accidentally gave him the wrong bag, assuming that it belonged to the yeshiva student or one of his friends.
"The yellow cab comes back, opens the window, says, ‘Someone left this,’ hands it over to me, and drives away," the yeshiva student, 20, recalled to PIX11. But before the student could tell the driver that the bag was not his, the taxi had sped off.
Opening the bag in the hopes of discovering who it belonged to, the student was shocked: "First, I sa...
