Baltimore, MD - March 24, 2025 - Segway is recalling more than 200,000 scooters due to a defect that could cause the handlebars or stem to fold while in use.
The recall involves the Segway Ninebot Max G30P and Max G30LP KickScooters.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says Segway received 68 reports of "folding mechanism failures," which caused 20 injuries ranging from broken bones to bruises and lacerations.
"Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled scooters and contact Segway to receive information to determine whether the folding mechanism needs adjustment and to receive a free maintenance kit," the CPSC says in a statement "The kit includes tools and instructions for checking and tightening the folding mechanism and keeping it properly maintained."

יְהִי רָצוֹן שֶׁתִּשְׁרֶה שְׁכִינָה בְּמַעֲשֵֹה יְדֵיכֶם"— May God’s Shechinah (spirit) rest upon you.
This is one of the most beautiful brachot one can possibly receive. The Jewish people invested so much time and effort in the building of the Mishkan, the spiritual center that accompanied them in the desert. They donated precious metals and jewelry, worked with diligence and dedication, and in this week’s parashah, Pekudei, the work is finally completed.
Rashi explains that Moshe Rabbeinu blesses the people with these words: “May it be God’s will that the Shechinah rest upon your handiwork.”
This magnificent brachah encapsulates a multi-layer message: You have not just built a beautiful buildi...
Baltimore, MD - March 24, 2025 - A group of 13 dedicated Chaverim of Baltimore volunteers recently completed a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course, equipping them with critical skills to assist in times of crisis. The training, conducted in partnership with the Baltimore City Fire Department and other emergency agencies, was facilitated through Councilman Yitzy Schleifer.
While the CERT program has been in existence for many years, it has been inactive in Baltimore in recent years. Now, efforts are underway to revitalize and expand the program, with Chaverim playing a key role in strengthening emergency response capabilities for both the Jewish community and the broader Baltimore area. CERT is a nationwide program designed to train civilians to assist in natur...

New analysis released Monday by Johns Hopkins University researchers says that ships are highly likely to collide with major bridges across the United States, with the potential for catastrophic collisions happening every few years.
Researchers conducted an "urgent assessment" of the nations bridge vulnerability following the 2024 Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore. The team aimed to estimate the chances that a large ship would hit the country's most significant bridges.
Officials said that they went over 16 years of U.S. Coast Guard data, which they say included hundreds of millions of data points, port data, bridge data, and traffic data.
That study found that some of the nation's busiest bridges will likely be hit by ships within our lifetime, and some of the most ...
This morning, a combined ramming, stabbing, and shooting attack occurred at Tishbi Junction on Route 66 near Yokneam. At 09:44, a report was received indicating that a vehicle had struck a bus stop where a young man was standing, leaving him seriously injured. Following the crash, the attacker exited the vehicle and opened fire on a 75-year-old man, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
United Hatzalah and Magen David Adom (MDA) teams quickly arrived on site to provide initial medical assistance. Naftali Rothenberg, Director of the Carmel Region at United Hatzalah, described the scene: “Passersby reported that the vehicle crashed into a bus stop where a young man was standing, who was moderately to seriously injured. After that, the terrorist exited the vehicle and opened fire...
Baltimore County — March 23, 2025 - Motorists on Interstate 695 near Exit 24 in Towson might have noticed the smell of sour milk after a tractor-trailer overturned and spilled 6,000 gallons of milk early Saturday.
The milk spilled onto the roadway and into a nearby creek around 1 a.m., according to a post on the social media platform X by the Maryland Department of the Environment.
No injuries were reported, and 75 gallons of diesel were recovered, the post reads.
Baltimore, MD - March 23, 2025 - Three days after a scathing National Transportation Safety Board report said Maryland could’ve done more to prevent the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse, Gov. Wes Moore shifted the blame to the owners and operators of the ship that crashed into the bridge.
“It was the sole fault of the Dali and the sole fault of the reckless operators,” Moore said on Fox News Sunday in his first public remarks about the NTSB report.
The governor’s comments follow the Maryland Transportation Authority’s statement early Friday that also blamed the collapse on the freighter that crashed into it.
The NTSB in its critical report said the Key Bridge was exponentially vulnerable and Maryland could have done more to prepare...
Baltimore, MD - March 23, 2025 - Baltimore City transportation crews moved two speed-enforcement cameras on Interstate 83 that start enforcement actions Monday.
The cameras are installed along the northbound lanes of the Jones Falls Expressway at the Smith Avenue bridge and along the southbound lanes at the West North Avenue bridge.
The 15-day grace period to give drivers a chance to get accustomed to the new locations ended on March 23 and citations start on March 24. Similar to when the cameras were installed at their previous locations, warning signs were posted ahead of the new locations.
Since the city installed the JFX speed cameras in 2022, more than 585,000 citations have been issued.
President Trump’s airstrikes against Yemen’s Houthi rebels send a powerful message, far beyond preventing the harassment of U.S. ships and commerce in the Red Sea. Without exaggeration, the president is responding to a serious threat to global stability.
The Houthis and their main sponsor, the Islamic Republic of Iran, aim to reduce civilization to an Islamic caliphate, and would then simply fight among themselves for dominance. Appeasement was never the answer.
Unlike his predecessor’s weak posture, President Trump understands that strength deters aggression. The Houthis, backed by the Mullahs of Iran, have been targeting Red Sea shipping, endangering international commerce and emboldening Tehran’s broader destabilization efforts.
By taking swift mi...
As part of the first phase of the plan to relocate Palestinians who wish to leave Gaza for third countries, which appeared to take shape last Wednesday, 70 Gazans with foreign citizenship or family ties abroad departed from southern Israel’s Ramon Airport on a Romanian military plane bound for Europe.
Israeli authorities said they assisted in the evacuation as part of their emigration policy. The group’s departure coincided with renewed military operations in Gaza and mounting international pressure to restore humanitarian aid to the territory.
“We are working with all means to implement the US president’s vision, and we will allow any Gaza resident who wants to move to a third state to do so,” Defense Minister Israel Katz said, referencing a ...
The Trump administration will end legal status for more than 500,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela in the United States under some Biden-era parole programs, according to a notice posted by the federal government.
Migrants in the programs have been told to depart the country by April 24, 30 days after the notice was published in the federal register.
In January, the Department of Homeland Security teased the phase-out of parole programs which have allowed certain migrants to temporarily live and work in the US.
The DHS claimed in a release that the Biden administration abused humanitarian parole by extending it to multiple nationalities.
“The Biden-Harris Administration abused the humanitarian parole program to indiscriminat...

National Security Advisor Michael Waltz spoke with CBS recently to discuss the Prosperity Guardian attacks against the Houthis.
"We've taken out key Houthi leadership, including their chief missileer, weapons depots, communications hubs, and even some of their over-the-water drone facilities, just in the last couple of days," he claimed.
"President Trump has decided to hit the Houthis and hit them hard, as opposed to the last administration, when weeks or months would go by after one of these attacks. As a result, we've had one of the world's most critical sea lanes get shut down."
He noted that the Houthis are much better equipped than some better-known terror organizations. "These guys are like Al-Qaeda or ISIS with advanced cruise missiles, ballistic mis...
Over the past few days, the IDF and ISA struck terror targets and terrorists throughout the Gaza Strip, in order to degrade Hamas' military capabilities and to remove threats posed to the State of Israel and IDF troops.
In these strikes, the IDF and ISA eliminated the deputy commander of Hamas' Gaza Brigade, the terrorist Ahmad Salman ‘Awj Shimali. Shimali was responsible for operations, planning the offensive strategy, and building the brigade's force in preparation for Hamas's brutal massacre on October 7.
The IDF noted that during the war, Shimali was responsible for the deployment of the Gaza Brigade's forces.
Additionally, the commander of Hamas' Shejaiya Battalion, Jamil Omar Jamil Wadiya, was also eliminated. For most of the war, Wadiya led the...

Cities in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America are bracing for Friday's Al Quds Day, an event of intense and violent anti-Israel protests and rhetoric, with Toronto authorities warning participants against terrorist flags and hate crimes.
The Iran-backed protest holiday against Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem falls on the last Friday of Ramadan, but activists have planned events throughout the week, including Sunday marches in Toronto and London.
"Palestine resists, Zionism ceases to Exist," read a March 6 advertisement for a Toronto march organized by the Palestinian Youth Movement and Al-Quds Toronto.
In a Friday press briefing, Toronto Police Service Intelligence Services Superintendent Katherine Stephenson acknowledged increased tensions...
Hamas had every opportunity to demilitarize and accept the bridging proposal, but "they elected not to," US special envoy Steve Witkoff stated on Sunday to Fox News.
Hamas "is the aggressor here," Witkoff added. "So this is on Hamas. The United States stands with the state of Israel."
Hamas is responsible for the renewed fighting in Gaza after rejecting efforts to move forward with what had been an "acceptable deal," Witkoff added.
Concerning Iran, Witkoff stated that they cannot gain access to a nuclear weapon, saying, "It cannot happen, and it will not happen."
He also stated that the US and Iran should sit down and see if the two countries can reach the "right place through diplomacy."
Witkoff also expressed optimism ahead of high-stakes talks to end the wa...
The cabinet has voted unanimously in favor of expressing no confidence in Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, a step that constitutes the beginning of the official process for her dismissal from office.
During the meeting, Justice Minister Yariv Levin criticized her absence from the discussion, claiming that this indicates a disregard for the government. "This is further proof of the depth of the contempt she has for the government and its members and that she has no answers to the allegations directed against her," he said. Minister Nir Barkat added: "Apparently she went to another cabinet meeting."
Minister Avi Dichter also attacked the Attorney General and referred to her legal positions: "I read her quotes from 2022 regarding the gas deal saying that it posed no legal challenge. It ...
