Baltimore, MD - March 19, 2025  - It has come to our attention that we may have sold Lieber’s Garlic Powder 1 LB container that was not Kosher for Pesach but it was displayed in the Kosher for Pesach section. If you purchased one of these from the store this Pesach season please make sure your container has proper Pesach certification. The other non-Pesach containers have since been removed from the Pesach shelves. Customers are reminded that while we do our best to check, and double check everything going on the Pesach shelves, mistakes do happen for a variety of reasons and all items purchased for Pesach should be checked by the customer to make sure they have a reliable Pesach certification. This applies to the entire year as well, that all products purchased should be ...

Baltimore, MD - March 19, 2025 - The Social Security Administration (SSA) said Monday it will no longer allow individuals to verify their identity over the phone but instead require online authentication or in-person visits for those seeking benefit claims and direct deposit changes. “SSA will permit individuals who do not or cannot use the agency’s online my  Social Security  services to start their claim for benefits on the telephone. However, the claim cannot be completed until the individual’s identity is verified in person,” a blog post on the SSA website reads. “The agency therefore recommends calling to request an in-person appointment to begin and complete the claim in one interaction,” it continued. Jerusalem, Israel - March 19, 2025 - The Jerusalem Municipality has released its updated criteria for Arnona discounts for 2025. Arnona, Israel’s municipal property tax, is paid by the residents of an apartment rather than the property owner. Each year, significant discounts are available for eligible residents, with the most prominent being income-based reductions. This year’s income-based discount rates have now been published and can be found on Chaim V’Chessed’s website. The table details the maximum income a household may earn to qualify for discounts, taking into account the number of household members. Due to the rise in the cost of living, the maximum income amounts in each category have been raised slightly for 2025. Key Points to...
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President Donald Trump held a "very good" phone call on Wednesday, during which the pair discussed the preliminary agreement reached with Russian President Vladimir Putin one day prior. "Just completed a very good telephone call with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine," Trump announced on his social media platform Truth Social just moments after the hourlong call wrapped. "Much of the discussion was based on the call made yesterday with President Putin in order to align both Russia and Ukraine in terms of their requests and needs.  "We are very much on track," Trump added. Putin on Tuesday agreed to stop hitting Ukraine's energy infrastructure for 30 days, though the ceasefire did not extend to the frontlines or ...

Baltimore, MD - March 19, 2025  -  Chanting, "We will free Palestine within our lifetime," a large group of protesters took to Baltimore City Hall following the resumption of the war in Gaza. Baltimore, MD - March 19, 2025 - Early Tuesday, Israel dropped a round of airstrikes on Gaza, effectively ending ceasefire talks and killing more than 400 people, according to Gaza health officials. Israeli government officials are saying the attack came after Hamas refused to release all hostages. Protesters like Jake Ecker called it a grave day. "We've been seeing a live stream genocide for over seventeen months now and even for years before that continued violence against the people of Palestine as they struggle for the right to return to their homes," Ecker said. He says they&#...
Over the past day, IDF troops began targeted ground activities in the central and southern Gaza Strip in order to expand the security zone and create a partial buffer between northern and southern Gaza. As part of the ground activities, the troops expanded their control further to the center of the Netzarim Corridor. Simultaneously, it was decided that the Golani Brigade would be stationed in the Southern Command area and would remain ready for operations in the Gaza Strip. Minister of Defense Israel Katz published a message on Wednesday directed at Gaza residents, stating: " Soon, the population will again be evacuated from the combat zones." He threatened: "If the Israeli hostages are not released and Hamas is not removed from Gaza - Israel will act with force the likes of which you h...

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. —Stuck in space no more, NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams returned to Earth on Tuesday, hitching a different ride home to close out a saga that began with a bungled test flight more than nine months ago. Their SpaceX capsule parachuted into the Gulf, in the early evening, just hours after departing the International Space Station. Splashdown occurred off the coast of Tallahassee in the Florida Panhandle, bringing their unplanned odyssey to an end. Within an hour, the astronauts were out of their capsule, waving and smiling at the cameras while being hustled away in reclining stretchers for routine medical checks. It all started with a flawed Boeing test flight last spring. The two expected to be gone just a week or so after ...

The IDF and the Shin Bet started at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday morning to conduct dozens of extensive air strikes specifically on mid-level Hamas commanders in Gaza and some senior Hamas political officials, but did not target senior Hamas military commanders like Mohammed Sinwar who might be holding Israeli hostages nearby. The strikes ended a nearly two month ceasefire with Hamas since January 19 after the sides had failed for nearly three weeks to bridge disagreements about moving from Phase I of hostage negotiations to Phase II. The air force struck around 80 Hamas and Islamic Jihad targets in approximately 10 minutes from 2:10-2:20 a.m. on Tuesday morning. In fact, most of the targets were hit in the first two minutes. Throughout the day there were other waves...

President Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin for at least 90 minutes Tuesday about ending the war in Ukraine, the White House said, noting that the two leaders agreed that "negotiations will begin immediately in the Middle East." The two leaders also agreed to a ceasefire against energy infrastructure, both sides said. Trump described the call as "very good and productive" on Truth Social. "Many elements of a Contract for Peace were discussed, including the fact that thousands of soldiers are being killed, and both President Putin and President Zelenskyy would like to see it end," Trump wrote on social media. "That process is now in full force and effect, and we will, hopefully, for the sake of Humanity, get the job done!" The call began at 10 a.m. ET, ...
