A federal judge granted a request from special counsel Jack Smith on Friday to suspend deadlines in President-elect Trump’s election interference case. The move comes after Smith begun discussions with Justice Department officials earlier this week about how to wind down Trump’s federal criminal cases, which likewise includes charges in Florida related to his retention of classified documents. “As a result of the election held on November 5, 2024, the defendant is expected to be certified as President-elect on January 6, 2025, and inaugurated on January 20, 2025. The Government respectfully requests that the Court vacate the remaining deadlines in the pretrial schedule to afford the Government time to assess this unprecedented circumstance and determ...
The Justice Department says it has thwarted an Iranian plot to kill President-elect Donald Trump in the leadup to the election.  A criminal complaint filed in federal court in Manhattan alleges that an unnamed official in Iran's paramilitary Revolutionary Guard instructed a contact to put together a plan to surveil and ultimately kill Trump. "There are few actors in the world that pose as grave a threat to the national security of the United States as does Iran," Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a statement. "The Justice Department has charged an asset of the Iranian regime who was tasked by the regime to direct a network of criminal associates to further Iran’s assassination plots against its targets, including President-elect Donald Trump.  "We have also c...

Qatar has reportedly clarified to the terrorist group Hamas, "You are not welcome here," KAN reported on Friday, citing a source familiar with the matter. This development has reportedly been underway in recent days, three sources told KAN. One source told KAN that this is due to pressure from the US. According to the report, Qatar had previously explained that Hamas's leadership in the country was meant to facilitate dialogue during hostage negotiation efforts. Egyptian sources told the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar that direct talks with senior Hamas officials are ongoing, with recent talks taking place on November 5, the day of the US elections.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Friday that the 86th anniversary of Kristallnacht was “marked on the streets of Amsterdam” a day earlier when hundreds of Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer fans were attacked by anti-Israel mobs. “Tomorrow, 86 years ago, was Kristallnacht, when Jews on European soil were attacked for being Jews. This has now recurred,” Netanyahu said referring to the events of November 9, 1938, a Nazi pogrom that marked a turning point in the escalating persecution of Jews that eventually led to the murder of 6 million European Jews by the Nazis and their supporters during the Holocaust. “There is one difference now, though, the Jewish people now have a state of their own,” Netanyahu said in a statement during his visit to the Foreign Minis...

New York, NY - Nov. 8, 2024  -  We are horrified by the organized and vicious antisemitic attack on Israelis in Amsterdam. Coming days before the anniversary of Kristallnacht, it is time for world leaders and individuals of conscience to recognize that brazen attacks against Jews is what protestors are calling for when they chant “globalize the intifada”. While we appreciate that leaders in the Netherlands and Europe have rightly condemned this brazen attack, it demands more than statements. It demands that governments take new and concrete actions - both proactive and reactive - to stop this scourge, protect Jews, and prosecute those who criminally attack us. "Never again” is not a prophecy or a prediction, it is a pledge and a commitment to stand up against...

And Abram came up from Egypt, he, and his wife and all that was his, and Lot with him, to the south. And Abram was very heavy with cattle, with silver, and with gold. And he went on his journeys, from the south and until Beth El, until the place where his tent had been previously, between Beth El and between Ai. (Bereishis 13:1-3)  Avraham was the prince of the pivot. He handled all that came his way with a sense of belief and confidence. Upon arriving in Canaan, he finds himself in the midst of a regional famine and so together with Sarai and Lot, he travels down to Egypt. After the drama of Egypt, Avraham makes his way back, and it is at this moment that the Torah shares with us a peculiar detail, “And he went on his journeys …”  Rashi comments, “When ...
Washington, D.C. - Nov. 7, 2024  - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has proposed removing oral phenylephrine as an approved active ingredient in over-the-counter (OTC) medications for temporary relief of nasal congestion. Following a comprehensive review, the FDA determined that oral phenylephrine, which is commonly found in products like Sudafed PE and Benadryl Allergy Plus Congestion, is not effective for this use. Despite this proposal, these products remain on the market for now, as this is not a final decision. Oral phenylephrine has been widely used in many OTC products for nasal decongestion. Some medications contain phenylephrine as a sole ingredient, while others, like Benadryl Allergy Plus Congestion, include it alongside other active ingredients, such as acetami...
