Sen. John Fetterman, D-Penn., accused the New York Times of spreading Hamas propaganda after the paper quoted Khaled Meshal, one of the terror group's most senior officials, in a new report Tuesday.  The Times story, headlined "Hamas is surviving war in Israel. Now it hopes to thrive in Gaza again," centers around an interview with Meshal, who insisted Hamas "is winning the war and will play a decisive role in Gaza’s future" despite Israel's commitment to eradicate the terror group responsible for killing 1,200 people on October 7. The Times interviewed Meshal for two-hours in his living room in Doha, Qatar, where he "offered rare insights into the thinking of Hamas officials," the report reads. "In the interview, Mr. Meshal made clear that Hamas officials are ...

The United States warned Iran not to increase risks for a regional war in the aftermath of an unusual attack in which hundreds of Hezbollah pagers exploded in Lebanon, killing at least eight and wounding over 2,700 people. “We would urge Iran not to take advantage of any incident, any instability… to further increase tensions in the region,” State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller told reporters in Washington on Tuesday. Both he and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre denied any United States involvement in the attack, which appeared to return the region to the brink of a larger Israel-Lebanese war. The attack came after Israel said it had foiled a plot by Hezbollah to assassinate a former senior defense official in the coming days....

Only 3 percent of poll participants said that "the debate made them reconsider who to vote for," while 71 percent said that "the debate did not make us doubt whether to vote for the candidate we support." 17 percent claimed they did not watch the debate or read about it at all. 8 percent said that "the debate made them question their choice, but did not change it." Baltimore, MD  - Sept. 17, 2024  - The cost of energy is going up. Starting October 1, BGE customers will see higher prices on their bill. While it may seem like BGE is increasing rates, the price increase is being caused by the wholesale energy prices going up. "There are two primary components to everyone's BGE bill - delivery and supply," said Nick Alexopoulos, Senior Manager of communications at BGE. The costs for delivering your energy are controlled by BGE and regulated by the public service commission -- they're not changing. "Supply, the other component, is the cost of the actual gas and electricity. If you choose to get your supply from BGE, which is called standard offer service, we are not allowed to profit off that component. The cost is passed directly...
The TikTok, Instagram, and WhatsApp generation has no idea about the device that came before mobile phones. It was called the "beeper," and it allowed journalists, doctors, technicians, and managers to receive messages even from remote areas. The cyberattack which wounded Hezbollah terrorists throughout multiple countries has revealed that that the device, which many thought had died out, is still being used by Hezbollah. The beeper, which received short messages and alerted its user with a beep, was originally invented in the US in the 1920s. Al Gross, the entrepreneur who also invented the first small radio, developed the beeper in the 1940s. Initially, it was used in security and public systems in the US, especially in hospitals and emergency units. In the 1950s, the Fed...

Baltimore, MD - Sept. 17, 2024 - A bill to ban gas-powered leaf blowers in Baltimore City is moving toward a final vote from the city council. The council will get one more chance to debate the bill before making a final vote. Council members agreeing with the ban say it’s a quality-of-life issue, while those against it are worried about the burden on middle-class families and small businesses. On Monday, the city council voted 10 to 5 to move that legislation forward under the bill. Under the bill, contractors, residents and even the city itself will be forced to switch from gas-powered leaf blowers to electric ones. Council members like Ryan Dorsey, who introduced the bill, say this effort follows a national trend of addressing public health and pollution. “This is the ...
The ISA has cleared for publication that it foiled a Hezbollah attack aimed at a former defense establishment official that was intended to commence in the coming days. As part of its operation, the ISA uncovered a claymore mine, commonly used by Hezbollah, which was meant to be used against the individual. The mine was attached to a remote-controlled device based on a cellphone camera so it would be able to be detonated from Lebanon. The ISA stated that operational preparedness and the forces' actions prevented the attack during the final execution stages. The targeted individual was notified by the security authorities and was briefed accordingly. The explosive was similar to the claymore that was detonated by Hezbollah last year in Hayarkon Park in central Israel which was inten...
