Ryan Wesley Routh, the suspect who pointed a rifle with a scope into former US President Donald Trump’s golf club on Sunday, did not have a line of sight of the former President when he was caught by agents, Secret Service acting Director Ronald Rowe Jr. said in a news conference on Monday.
Routh was on the public side of the golf course fence, Rowe said, as quoted by CNN.
“As former President Trump was moving through the fifth fairway, across the course and out of sight of the sixth green, the agent, who was visually sweeping the area of the sixth green, saw the subject armed with what he perceived to be a rifle and immediately discharged his firearm,” he said.

Baltimore, MD - Sept. 16, 2024 - Baltimore Shomrim members have been thoroughly reviewing camera footage from this morning's incidents and are actively working with City Wide Detectives. During the review, Shomrim uncovered a previously unreported third attempted robbery in the Greenspring area. In this case, two suspects exited the same vehicle involved in the earlier incidents and approached an elderly individual, demanding valuables. Upon realizing the person had nothing to give, they quickly returned to the car and fled the scene. Fortunately, no one was harmed in any of the incidents. This is a strong reminder to avoid resisting or fighting back in such situations.

Dear Shomrei Family:
At approximately 6:00 am this morning, an armed robbery occurred outside our shul. An individual who was parking his car on Greenspring Avenue to attend Shacharis in our shul was held up at gunpoint by three masked men who quickly drove away. They took his phone and wallet. Thank G-D, the man was unharmed, but was shaken up.
Members of Shomrim were on the scene at once, the police were called immediately, and within several minutes they arrived, sending multiple officers. From what we were told, this appears to be a crime of opportunity, but we urge everyone to be cautious and vigilant and pay careful attention to your surroundings at all times.

Baltimore, MD - Sept. 16, 2024 - This morning, September 16, 2024 around 6:00 a.m., two related street robberies occurred.
One was in the area of 6200 block of Greenspring Avenue and the other was in the area of the 6300 block of Green Meadow Parkway. In both cases the suspects were African American males.
The Baltimore City Police Department is investigating. They will increase patrols to the area.

The FBI said Monday that the suspect in the second assassination attempt of former President Trump was the subject of a 2019 tip to the FBI.
The new information was revealed during a Monday afternoon presser by Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey B Veltri.
“Following up on the tip, the alleged complainant was interviewed and … did not verify providing the initial information. The FBI passed that information to local law enforcement in Honolulu,” Veltri said.
Veltri said the Martin County Sheriff's Office took custody of the suspect, 58-year-old Ryan Routh, and he was transported back to Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office,” Veltri said.
“Our FBI agents then attempted to interview him, and he invoked his right to an attorney,” Veltri said.

David Rubenstein, the Jewish co-founder and co-chairman of the Carlyle Group and owner of the Baltimore Orioles, has committed to donate $1.5 million to the Jewish Museum of Maryland, the cultural institution, which is part of the Baltimore Jewish Federation, announced on Thursday.
“Happy to support the Jewish Museum of Maryland,” Rubenstein wrote on social media. “Through modern and compelling exhibits, more people will learn from and be inspired by Maryland’s Jewish history.”
The museum stated that the new David M. Rubenstein Exhibition Arcade will form “the epicenter of the museum’s front of house, a central public space that branches out into galleries, an audio/video production studio and a library.”

Baltimore, Md - Sept. 16, 2024 - Baltimore City has settled another opioid lawsuit and this time it's with Johnson & Johnson.
The details of the settlement weren't disclosed.
This news comes a week after the city settled with the Walgreens Pharamacy and Teva Pharmaceuticals.
Teva will pay the city $80 million and the full terms of the Walgreens agreement will be made public on October 3.
The city will put $5 million of the funds toward promoting the "988" suicide/crisis hotline, $3 million toward the Penn North Recovery Center, and $2 million toward BMore Power, as agreed on in the settlement.
Teva will make an initial payment of $35 million by the end of the year, and the rest by July 1, 2025.

Unknown vandals have been defacing siddurim, Jewish prayer books, at the Western Wall in recent months. Over the last week, the vandals have written messages calling for the destruction of the State of Israel, Ynet reported.
One message read, "The land of Israel is holy, the people of Israel are holy, the State of Israel must be erased." Another stated, "The Devil's state will be erased for eternity."
At least dozens of prayer books have been subject to similar vandalism, as well as the tearing out of pages such as those containing the prayers for the wellfare of the State of Israel and the soldiers of the IDF.

Germany’s federal government continues to ignore Israeli requests to purchase weapons, according to a Sunday report in the mass circulation daily Bild.
The paper wrote that “However, sales of heavy weapons systems to the Emirate of Qatar – one of the most important supporters of the terrorist group Hamas – were approved.”

This grant aims to enhance efforts to prevent motor vehicle crashes and reduce roadway fatalities.
The funds will be distributed through 87 agencies, organizations, and programs starting October 1, as stated by The Office of the Governor.

The government is expected Sunday to approve recommendations of a committee established by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, and chaired by Professor Aviad Hacohen, a legal expert – for 1 billion shekels ($270,000) for those most affected by the war with Hamas.
In recent months, the committee discussed ways to assist those affected by slaughter on October 7, but who have not received a satisfactory response by the government thus far.
