Germany’s federal government continues to ignore Israeli requests to purchase weapons, according to a Sunday report in the mass circulation daily Bild.
The paper wrote that “However, sales of heavy weapons systems to the Emirate of Qatar – one of the most important supporters of the terrorist group Hamas – were approved.”
According to Bild, “Last year, the Israeli government had already requested the purchase of several thousand pieces of ammunition for its main battle tanks, and there were further requests for other types of armament.”

Baltimore, MD - Sept. 15, 2024 - With a significant increase in traffic fatalities, Governor Wes Moore announced $13.3 million in federal safety grants for Maryland, according to The Office of the Governor.
This grant aims to enhance efforts to prevent motor vehicle crashes and reduce roadway fatalities.
The funds will be distributed through 87 agencies, organizations, and programs starting October 1, as stated by The Office of the Governor.

The government is expected Sunday to approve recommendations of a committee established by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, and chaired by Professor Aviad Hacohen, a legal expert – for 1 billion shekels ($270,000) for those most affected by the war with Hamas.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on Sunday at the opening of the government meeting about the missile fired from Yemen at Israel in the morning, and touched on the situation in the north.

The missile fired at Israel by the Houthis on Sunday was not a hypersonic missile, as claimed by the Houthis, but rather an outdated surface-to-surface ballistic missile upgraded by Iran, according to a professor of Aerospace Engineering at the Technion.
Dr. Benveniste (Benny) Natan, a professor in the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at the Technion, dismissed the Houthis' claim of firing a hypersonic missile toward Tel Aviv earlier that day.

Yemen's Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack that reached central Israel for the first time on Sunday, saying the group employed a "new hypersonic ballistic missile" in a "specific military operation" targeting the Tel Aviv area, in a statement from the group's military spokesperson.

Federal prosecutors said they are seeking an 18-year prison sentence for the Catonsville woman charged with trying to destroy Baltimore’s power grid.
Sarah Beth Clendaniel pleaded guilty in May to conspiring with her boyfriend, Brandon Russell, from December 2022 through February 2023, to damage energy facilities in Baltimore.
In court filings Friday, prosecutors said the attack would have cost Baltimore Gas & Electric $75 million.
Prosecutors said they plan to call witnesses at the sentencing hearing, including a BGE substation manager and a ballistics expert.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled on Friday that mail-in ballots with incorrect dates will not be counted in November, reversing a previous ruling from a lower court in the battleground state.
The decision from last month named only Philadelphia and Allegheny Counties, which the state’s Supreme Court argued the lower ruling lacked jurisdiction.

A total of 55 rockets were fired towards northern Israel in multiple barrages on Saturday morning.
Fires broke out in multiple locations in the Upper Galilee, after rockets hit during the two main barrages. The rockets also triggered sirens in locations near the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee), and footage shows a line of mushroom clouds rising after rockets exploded in the area.
The first sirens sounded around 6:00a.m., near Gornot Hagalil and in Shtula. Following the siren that sounded in the area of Gornot Hagalil, the IDF Aerial Defense Array successfully intercepted a suspicious aerial target that crossed from Lebanon. No injuries were reported. Home improvement company Home Depot agreed to pay nearly $2 million to settle a civil complaint from multiple California district attorneys, alleging the company took part in false advertising and unfair competition.
The company has to pay $1.7 million in civil penalties as well as $277,251 to cover investigation costs and “support future enforcement of consumer protection laws.” Home Depot did not admit wrongdoing, but was cooperative in the investigation, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney Office’s news release.
