American Jews plan to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris by a wide margin, according to a new survey by a Jewish Democratic group.
The survey also found that 87% of American Jewish voters support the Biden administration’s efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas War that would release the Israeli hostages held in Gaza.
The survey, released Monday by the Jewish Democratic Council of America, shows 68% of Jewish voters planning to vote for Harris, the Democratic nominee, and 25% planning to vote for Donald Trump, the former president and Republican nominee.
The survey indicates that a volatile season of campaigning, including heated exchanges over which party is worse for American Jews, has hardly budged the Jewish electorate. It also suggests that extensi...
Baltimore, MD - Sept. 9, 2024 - Maryland has earned the title of the second-happiest state in the nation. The state’s unemployment rate stands at just 2.9%, among the lowest in the U.S., in addition to a high percentage of households earning over $75,000 per year.
The state excels in social and emotional well-being with its residents less likely to express work-related stress on social media. That's because Marylanders are mostly content, ranking third in the country for residents who report liking what they do and feeling motivated to achieve their goals. This sense of purpose and fulfillment is a key contributor to the state’s high happiness ranking.
When surveyed about life satisfaction, Maryland residents reported the second-lowest percentage of people experien...

The settlement brings the total amount the city has won from opioid companies to more than $322 million, Mayor Brandon M. Scott announced. Baltimore’s lawsuit against the remaining companies is set to go to trial next week.

The city opted out of previous global settlements with Teva and other major opioid com...

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated at the start of the cabinet meeting on Sunday night that there is and will be no change in the status quo regarding the Temple Mount.
His office said in a statement that "the Prime Minister repeated his directive that the ministers of the government not go up to the Temple Mount without his prior approval through his military secretary."
Last month, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir visited the Temple Mount together with Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf, on the occasion of the fast of Tisha B’Av.
On Sunday morning, MK Yitzhak Kroizer, also a member of Otzma Yehudit, ascended the Temple Mount.
"We pray for the success of our soldiers in the north, in Judea and Samaria and in the Gaza Strip in the face of our enemy in all place...
A woman and her husband were assaulted in Germany for wearing a t-shirt supporting the Israeli hostages held by the Hamas terrorist organization, the Jewish News Syndicate reported.
The attack occurred last Monday in the city of Heidelberg. The victim was wearing a shirt that stated 'Bring them home now,' a phrase popularized in connection with the 250 people who were abducted by Hamas and other terrorists from southern Israel on October 7 and the calls for their release from captivity.
The attacker grabbed the woman's shirt and demanded she remove it, lightly injuring her. He then repeatedly struck the woman's husband when he tried to help his wife, knocking out one of his teeth. The attacker later posted about the attack he committed on social media.

Consolation
Would you like to see prophecies of consolation coming true before your very eyes?
We’ve been reading the haftarot of nechama—consolation–which describe Jerusalem awakening from her slumber and coming back to life; Jews who are distant, both physically and spiritually, coming home again; and the Jewish nation returning to Hashem and to our proper place in the world.
And then I received a moving video with the following note: “Shalom, it’s Rabbi Reuven Taragin from Yeshivat HaKotel. Fifty new students arrived this week! These young men from the UK, the US, and Canada have graduated from high school and instead of going straight to college have chosen to spend a year learning Torah in Jerusalem, even during a time of war.
