The US State Department raised its travel advisory level to 4, the highest level, on Wednesday after Israel eliminated Hezbollah military chief Fuad Shukr.
The State Department stated: "Do Not Travel to Lebanon due to rising tensions between Hezbollah and Israel. If you are in Lebanon, be prepared to shelter in place should the situation deteriorate. The US Embassy strongly encourages US citizens who are already in Southern Lebanon, near the borders with Syria, and/or in refugee settlements to depart.
"Since October 8, Hezbollah has conducted attacks against Israel that have escalated in recent weeks, culminating in a July 27 rocket attack on Majdal Shams, a town in the Golan Heights, which killed 12 children. This strike has increased the risk of further escalation between Hizballah and...

Khaled Meshaal, tipped to be the new Hamas leader, became known around the world in 1997 after Israeli agents injected him with poison in a botched assassination attempt on a street outside his office in the Jordanian capital Amman.
The hit against a key senior figure of the Palestinian militant group, ordered by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, so enraged Jordan's then-King Hussein that he spoke of hanging the would-be killers and scrapping Jordan's peace treaty with Israel unless the antidote was handed over.
Israel did so, and also agreed to free Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, only to assassinate him seven years later in Gaza.
For Israelis and Western states, the Iran-backed Hamas, which has directed suicide bombings in Israel and fought frequent wars again...

Lakewood, NJ - July 31, 2024 - Middlesex County Judge Joseph Paone has thrown out the charges against SCHI founder Rabbi Eisemann this morning, just as the prosecution wrapped up their arguments.
Explaining his decision, Judge Paone said the prosecution completely failed to show any evidence that Rabbi Eisemann committed the crimes they were alleging.
The jury has now been dismissed, meaning the case is effectively over and an appeal is unlikely at this point.
See here for a complete history of the decade long saga.
There is still a staggering amount of legal fees that must be paid to cover the cost of the trial to date. Please help Rabbi Eisemann so he can fully return to his Avodas Hakodesh with a piece of mind and not be burdened by the nearly $350,000 in outstanding...

Sky News Arabia, citing Iranian sources, reported that the Hamas political leader was killed by a missile that was launched from a building near the one where he was staying.
Senior Iranian officials told the New York Times earlier in the day that Tehran’s top leadership was "in utter shock," by the dramatic assassination.
According to the officials, this assassination also questions Iran's security reputation and its ability to protect its borders against suc...

U.S. measles cases are nearly triple what they were last year, including one to nine cases in Maryland, according to data released Friday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
With five months left to go in the year, 26 states and the District of Columbia have reported 188 cases of measles, about half of which (49 percent, or 93) were severe enough to require hospitalization, mostly among people under the age of 5.
Last year, the nation saw 58 measles cases in four outbreaks. This year, there have been 13 outbreaks, the largest of them traced to a migrant shelter in Chicago in March in which 60 illnesses have been linked.
Seven states — Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, Oregon and Vermont — joined the growing list o...

Baltimore County, MD - July 30, 2024 - Despite a last-minute push from Democratic leaders, a campaign to expand the Baltimore County Council by four seats failed to gather enough signatures to appear on the Nov. 5 ballot.
A host of politicians at the local and state level, including Democrats County Executive Johnny Olszewski Jr. and Maryland House Speaker Adrienne A. Jones, last week endorsed the Vote4More campaign led by Linda Dorsey-Walker. Proponents of the measure say expanding the council by four would have allowed more women and minorities to participate in public life. They argue it also would have resolved complaints that the county’s current district makeup disfavors Black candidates in an area where they make up 30% of the population.

Words matter. Words have meaning. Words created our universe.
Hashem created the world through ten verbal pronouncements beginning with His declaration that "there should be light" and concluding with His announcement that Man should "procreate and inhabit the world".
Thousands of years later, Hashem crafted a moral and religious foundation for all humanity through the Aseret Ha'Dibrot, first spoken and afterwards carved into stony luchot. Both our physical world and our spiritual experience were fashioned through divine words.
Hashem gifted humans with the capacity for creative speech, similar to His. Though many animals communicate, they do so in a very rudimentary manner. They convey to one another basic survival needs such as feeding, migration, protection from predators, matin...

The United States would help Israel defend itself should a full-scale war break out with Lebanon, the country’s Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin told reporters in the Philippines as Lebanon braced for an IDF counterstrike.
“We remain concerned about the potential of this escalating into a full fight. And I don't believe that a fight is inevitable,” Austin said.
He spoke as the almost ten months of IDF-Hezbollah cross violence threaten to escape into a third Lebanon war following a Hezbollah strike that killed an Israeli on Tuesday and 12 Druze children on Saturday.
The international community, led by the US and France has scrambled to contain the situation, as they pushed for a diplomatic resolution.
“I think that you know, we'd li...

New York, NY - July 30, 2024 - Agudath Israel of America, along with The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, submitted an amicus “friend of the court” brief in a case seeking to hold UCLA accountable for failing to address antisemitic activity on campus. The lawsuit, Frankel, et al. v. Regents of the University of California, et al., was brought by three Jewish students attending UCLA, Yitzchok Frenkel, Joshua Ghayoum, and Eden Shemulian, and describes how UCLA administration initially permitted a pro-Hamas encampment to exist on campus and allowed the establishment of a “Jew Exclusion Zone” at the University earlier this year.
The brief urged the court to grant a preliminary injunction requiring UCLA to take measures ensuring that s...

Former US President Donald Trump accused his presumptive Democratic rival in this year's presidential election, Vice President Kamala Harris, of having a problem with Jews in a radio interview.
Speaking with WABC radio, Trump said that Harris's dislike could be seen in the photographs from her meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week.
“You can see the disdain. No. 1, she doesn’t like Israel. No. 2, she doesn’t like Jewish people. You know it, I know it and everybody knows it and nobody wants to say it,” Trump said.
“She dislikes Jewish people even more than [President Joe Biden] did,” he added.
The former President that "if you’re Jewish, if you vote for a Democrat, you’re a fool, an absolute fool. They h...
