Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to meet US President Joe Biden at the White House on July 22, two days before his address to a joint session of Congress, an Israeli official said on Sunday, according to JNS.
The meeting will mark the first time Biden has hosted Netanyahu at the White House since Netanyahu returned to office following the 2022 election.
The two leaders last met in October, when Biden visited Israel in the aftermath of Hamas’ October 7 attack on southern Israel.

The Israeli strike targeting Hamas’ military leader, Mohammed Deif, in southern Gaza on Saturday followed weeks of surveillance of a compound used by one of his key lieutenants, Rafa’a Salameh, The New York Times reported on Sunday, citing three senior Israeli defense officials.
The strike was authorized after prolonged observation of one of Salameh’s secret command posts located west of Khan Yunis, the three senior Israeli officials told the newspaper.

The investigation into Donald Trump’s attempted assassin have been slowed down by improvised explosives rigged across his property, senior law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the search told The Post.
Explosives were found in 20-year-old Thomas Crooks’ car as well as his home, sources said.
The explosives were described as having “varying” levels of sophistication, though it is unclear exactly what they consist of.
Investigators were forced to tread lightly after uncovering the explosives in Crooks’ property.
Crooks was shot dead by the Secret Service after he opened fire at the rally.
No motive has been been given for the assassination attempt on Trump.

Family members identified Corey Comperatore as the rally goer who was killed Saturday in an assassination attempt on former President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Comperatore was a former fire chief for Buffalo Township, local news station WPXI reported. He was shot and killed when Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on Trump from a sniper's perch some 130 yards away during the campaign event. Two others were critically injured in the attack, authorities said.
The victim's sister, Dawn Comperatore Schafer, wrote in a Facebook post that Corey "was a hero that shielded his daughters."

The U.S. Secret Service is investigating how a gunman armed with an AR-style rifle was able to get close enough to shoot and injure former President Donald Trump at a rally Saturday in Pennsylvania, a monumental failure of one of the agency’s core duties.
The gunman, who was killed by Secret Service personnel, fired multiple shots at the stage from an “elevated position outside of the rally venue,” the agency said.

Newark, DE - July 14, 2024 - For those heading north (i.e. to Lakewood, NY, Newark Airport, Philadelphia…), be aware that speed cameras have been placed along Interstate 95 at Route 896 in Newark, (as soon as one leaves Maryland), as part of the Delaware Department of Transportation's Electronic Speed Safety Program and the speed limit drops to 55MPH.
Drivers who speed through the construction zone will receive warnings until July 30.

The gunman who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump Saturday was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, sources told The Post.
Crooks, of Bethel Park, Pa., squeezed off shots — one of which grazed Trump in the ear — at an outdoor rally in Butler, just outside Pittsburgh.
Sources said Crooks was planted on a roof of a manufacturing plant more than 130 yards away from the stage at Butler Farm Show grounds.
He was killed by Secret Service snipers. An AR-style rifle was later recovered.
Bethel Park is a village 40 miles south of where the Butler rally was held.
Why Crooks fired on the presumptive Republican presidential nominee is unclear.
