A senior official in the American administration claims that agreements have been reached regarding the framework of the deal for the release of hostages and the ceasefire, and the discussions are now focusing on the details that will allow its implementation. The Washington Post reported that Israel and Hamas agreed that in the second phase, neither of them will control Gaza, and it will be managed by an international force that will involve the US, moderate Arab countries, and likely also about 2,500 police and soldiers from the Palestinian Authority. The official noted that the breakthrough was made possible after Hamas abandoned its demand for a written guarantee for a complete end to the war. Instead, Hamas agreed to a situation where if the negotiations last more than si...

Klal Yisrael is experiencing a period of enormous difficulty as Israel is surrounded by active threats and Jews everywhere face growing antisemitism. We are fearful of what the immediate future holds. The story of our people – especially since 1945 – inspires our faith and confidence in the eternity of the Jewish people, in Hashem’s promise that the Torah will never be forgotten, and in our lasting connection to Eretz Yisrael, but the years preceding 1945 remind us of the horrific destruction that can be inflicted upon the Jewish people by some while others watch in silence. As Jews everywhere spend every day agonizing over this lesson from recent history, it is profoundly distressing to see how the world so glaringly ignores it. In addition to learning the lessons of w...

Washington, D.C. - July 10, 2024 - The U.S. will soon begin shipping to Israel the 500-pound bombs that the Biden administration had previously suspended, ending a two-month pause it had imposed in a bid to reduce civilian casualties in Gaza, U.S. officials said. The bombs “are in the process of being shipped,” and are expected to arrive in Israel in coming weeks, an administration official said. Heavier 2,000-pound bombs that were meant to be part of the same shipment are still on hold, the official added. In May, the U.S. announced that it had held up one shipment that included 2,000-pound bombs and 500-pound bombs. Israel had already sent a ship to Charleston, S.C., to pick up the shipment before the decision was made, a U.S. official said. President Biden’s ...
