MK Avi Maoz, head of the Noam party, has expressed his staunch opposition to any plan to halt the judicial reform program. In a Knesset speech on Monday morning, he described how backing down would hand victory to the elites and turn voting into an utterly futile exercise.
"What we are about to see here is the completion of the coup d'etat whose aim is to turn democratic rule in the State of Israel, based on government by elected officials, into a dictatorship of the elites, which in a cynical use of words designed to mislead and conceal calls what it is doing 'fundamentally democratic,'" he said. Following a press conference given by Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David earlier on Monday, announcing a general strike in protest against the government's judicial reform program, all flights due to take off from Ben Gurion International Airport have been grounded until further notice.
Israel Airport Authority Committee chairman Pinchas Idan announced the strike on behalf of the workers' union, adding that with regard to incoming flights, only those that are already making their way to Israel will be permitted to land.
Meanwhile, passengers are continuing to check in without knowing whether they will actually be able to fly. The airport flight board is still displaying flights due to depart later on Thursday, but they could yet be canceled.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is planning to hold a second meeting Monday with Coalition leaders in a bid to win their support for a temporary delay in the judicial reform plan, after the first meeting reportedly devolved into a shouting match between National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and the prime minister.
Netanyahu is now looking to secure support of his Coalition allies for a plan to push off the judicial over haul by several weeks.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday night held consultations with members of the coalition, following the mass demonstrations that broke out throughout Israel against the judicial reform.
While officials in the Likud Party said there is a possibility that Netanyahu may announce a pause of the legislation, Justice Minister Yariv Levin expressed his opposition to stopping the judicial reform. Shas and United Torah Judaism would reportedly support a pause, but Netanyahu has not yet made a final decision.

Senior official speaking anonymously says attacks are being planned against Israel on the assumption of its weakness
An unnamed senior Israeli defense official said on Sunday that Israel’s military deterrence is regarded by enemies as weakened by the ongoing rifts and crises over the government’s judicial overhaul.

An Alabama school has introduced a bulletproof classroom to better protect students and teachers in the case of an active shooter emergency.
Cullman City Schools’ West Elementary in Alabama has installed Rapid-Deploy Safe Room Systems in two of its classrooms according to Unilad.
KT Security Solutions came up with the design in response to the deadly mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas last year. Nineteen students and two teachers died, while seventeen others were injured.
The design incorporates a fold-out room that extends from a whiteboard featuring bulletproof walls. One door is locked from the inside and only unlocked with a key.

Parents cannot be required to pull their children from private schools in New York that fail to meet state-designated standards, a judge decided, striking down a key provision of rules recently passed to strengthen oversight of such schools, including those specializing in religious education.
The ruling in a state trial court in Albany came in response to a lawsuit brought by yeshivos, and related advocacy groups over education rules enacted last fall. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired Defense Minister Yoav Gallant (Likud) Sunday, after Gallant publicly demanded the government freeze its judicial overhaul.
The Prime Minister's Office announced that Netanyahu made the decision Sunday evening, a day after Gallant's public address regarding the judicial reform plan.
