Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Wednesday that the risk of a nuclear clash was at its highest level in decades, warning that Moscow was in a "de-facto" open conflict with Washington over the war in Ukraine.
Relations between Russia and the United States, long strained, have worsened even further since Russia's invasion of Ukraine last year. In February, Moscow pulled out of the New START nuclear arms reduction treaty with Washington.
Speaking at an event entitled "A World Without START: What's Next," Ryabkov said there was "no question" of Russia restoring the treaty for now, criticizing what he called Washington's "hostile course" towards Moscow.

In a rare move, Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Michael Herzog, was summoned on Tuesday for a meeting with Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman.
The meeting concerned the Knesset’s approval of the law repealing the Disengagement in northern Samaria, Deputy State Department spokesman Vedant Patel said in a statement.
“The Deputy Secretary conveyed US concern regarding legislation passed by the Israeli Knesset rescinding important aspects of the 2005 Disengagement Law, including the prohibition on establishing settlements in the northern West Bank,” said Patel.

In a new study published today in the journal Nature, a team of scientists led by researchers from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem discovered that changes in the processing of RNA molecules – and not genetic changes in the DNA – drive pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDA) tumors to become metastatic.
This multinational study was conducted in collaboration with Sheba Medical Center and Bar Ilan University in Israel, Cornell University and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in the United States, and Toronto University in Canada. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said on Wednesday that the terror organization’s forces would "respond immediately if Israel starts a war" over the explosion in northern Israel that wounded a 21-year-old man last week, i24NEWS reported.
His comments came a week after the explosion of the roadside bomb on Highway 65, near Megiddo Junction.

A dangerous drug mixture being sold on the streets has caught the attention of federal authorities and agencies in Maryland.
Overdose awareness advocates are warning people about a street drug poisoning called Xylazine. Experts say they are seeing a major spike in overdose due to this substance.
Xylazine also known as tranq, is a non-opioid animal tranquilizer that's not approved for human use, but is found in 90 percent of street drugs.
The National Institute of Drug abuse reported, Xylazine is a central nervous system depressant that slows people's breathing and heart rate.
Additionally those who inject the substance can develop life threatening burn like bruises on the skin.

It’s not growing or harvesting season yet, so the hemp fields are bare. But inside a warehouse, there is plenty of product, and each bud means business, but according to some hemp industry leaders, their business could be at risk.
Nicholas Patrick, owner of Embrace CBD Wellness, said he got into the hemp industry after going through chemotherapy in 2012 and realized the plant helped him with nausea and cope with the stress of fighting cancer.
“I started using CBD flower and smoking CBD flower when I was going through all that stuff,” Patrick said.

After originally announcing an April resignation, the director of Baltimore's Department of Public Works DPW, Jason Mitchell, is delaying his resignation.
On Tuesday, Mayor Brandon Scott's Office said Mitchell will now remain at DPW through June 30th to help complete ongoing projects.
A statement from the Mayor's Office said Mitchell will "focus on important initiatives such as managing the Baltimore City consent decree negotiations, developing a comprehensive solid waste management strategy, and supporting the agency during the search for a new director."
"Mayor Scott acknowledges Director Mitchell's positive impact on DPW and looks forward to continuing to work with him to improve service delivery for Baltimore's residents," the statement continued.

Foreign Minister Eli Cohen met today (Wednesday) with his Polish counterpart Zbigniew Rau to sign an agreement to resume the Israeli youth Holocaust trips to the Nazi concentration camps in Poland and to announce the return of the Polish ambassador to Israel.
Relations between Israel and Poland deteriorated after Poland passed two laws related to the history Holocaust. The first law makes it illegal to blame Poland for the horrors of the Holocaust, while the second restricts the rights of Jewish Holocaust survivors to reclaim property which was taken from them during World War Two.

Baltimore, MD - Mar. 22, 2023 - 2:20PM - A massive traffic accident has occurred on the west side of the beltway between Liberty Road and Security Boulevard, resulting in six confirmed fatalities and one person in critical condition, according to WBALTV. The operator of the vehicle responsible for the accident has also been transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The accident happened when a car traveling northbound on the inner loop of the beltway approached a work zone and went through a cut-through, striking multiple road workers. Some workers were hit with such force that they were pushed into the outer loop, which is the southbound lane of the beltway. They were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Baltimore, MD - Mar. 22, 2023 - 12:59PM - A crash in Woodlawn has caused traffic to halt on the west side of the Baltimore Beltway, according to WBALTV. Multiple injuries have been reported, and an overturned car was spotted on the left shoulder of the Inner Loop near Security Boulevard. Inner Loop traffic was moving on the right shoulder, while Outer Loop traffic was completely stopped.
