An eight-month-old baby sustained a broken hip after being dropped by his sister as she sought refuge from rocket fire from Gaza in Sderot. Rif-Moshe Benita will need to wear a cast for six weeks. The boy's father, Yakov Benita, spoke to Kan News about the traumatic event, saying, "It's devastating that a baby has to endure a broken leg before they've even had a chance to walk, all because of a warning siren. It's heartbreaking that the children of Sderot have to live in such a perilous environment."

A Maryland Senate bill would create a task force to diagnose what's causing long wait times at hospital emergency departments and make recommendations to resolve it.
According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Maryland has ranked last with the longest average wait times in the country over the past seven years.
Candice Akbar, of Anne Arundel County, recently waited for hours to be seen by a doctor in a hospital emergency room.
"I went in with a sudden migraine, and I waited, like, four hours," she said. "The waiting room was filling up with people and you just never know when you are going to be seen."
She's not alone. John Mulcahy, of Anne Arundel County, also suffered through a long ER wait.

A 6-year-old in Michigan spent nearly $1,000 on food from the food-delivery app GrubHub while playing on his father's phone.
Keith and Kristyn Stonehouse were left confused as more and more food was dropped off on their porch. They soon discovered their 6-year-old son Mason had ordered the food while playing with Keith's phone before his bedtime.
"I think I left the app open and he saw that when he was playing with my phone and just started going to town," Keith said. "He ordered multiple orders, chili cheese fries, the chicken pita wraps. He ordered multiple orders of that. Multiple orders of ice cream, pizza."

A far right Polish YouTube channel with 250,000 subscribers is regularly producing content targeting Jews, the LGBTQ+ community and Ukrainian refugees, Poland’s leading anti-racism association has warned in a new report.
The “National Media” channel is run by Robert Bakiewicz, a far-right activist who organizes the annual ultranationalist “Independence March” through Warsaw on Nov. 11.
According to the Never Again Association, which authored the report, Bakiewicz’s various organizations, including National Media, have received almost $1 million from public funds distributed by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

North Korea said Thursday it’s prepared to counter U.S. military moves with the “most overwhelming nuclear force” as it warned that the expansion of the United States’ military exercises with rival South Korea is pushing tensions to an “extreme red line.”

A Saudi student in the United States on a visa was arrested in New Jersey for stealing a school bus and was later found to possess several antisemitic journals.
Bader Alzahrani, a Saudi Arabian national, was arrested in Livingston, New Jersey, on January 17 for stealing a school bus, News12 reported.
He was federally charged with receipt of a stolen vehicle and transportation of a stolen vehicle.
Court documents revealed that police found a bag of journals containing antisemitic content in a house across from the parking lot where the school bus was taken from. Alzahrani’s passport was also found at the same location.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has signed a double offset of NIS 100 million to be deducted from funds transferred to the the Palestinian Authority.
The funds are derived from tax revenues Israel collects on behalf of the PA. Until now, the Finance Ministry has been offsetting a sum identical to that paid by the Palestinian Authority to terrorists (or their families) who murder Jews.
"For the first time ever, I signed a double offset of tax revenues, deducting twice the amount of money that the PA transfers to terrorists' families," Smotrich announced on Wednesday. "We have deducted NIS 100 million instead of 50, as was done until now.

Russia is planning a major offensive to coincide with the first anniversary of the war in Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian Defense Minister, Oleksii Reznikov. Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
Reznikov noted that Russia mobilized 300 thousand conscripted soldiers last September, but said that assessments of the number of troops massed at the border indicate that up to half a million soldiers are being readied for battle.

The FBI is planning to conduct a search of former Vice President Mike Pence’s residence in Indiana for additional classified documents in the upcoming days, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
People familiar with the matter told the Journal that Justice Department (DOJ) officials are discussing when to schedule the search with Pence’s legal team.
Documents containing classified markings were found at Pence’s home last month and transferred to the National Archives after Pence’s team notified officials of them. Pence’s attorney said the former vice president was “unaware” that any classified or sensitive records were present at his address.
