A majority of voters fault Dr. Anthony Fauci, former chief medical adviser to the president, for mismanaging the government's COVID-19 response — and said Congress should investigate, polling by a conservative grassroots group shows.
In the survey conducted for Convention of States Action by The Trafalgar Group, released Monday, found that 52.2% of voters say the congressional investigation should look into Fauci for "inconsistent testimony about his research leading up to the pandemic" — and his actions managing the outbreak, while 44.5% disagreed.

New documents filed in federal court reveal why two of the members of Marilyn Mosby's defense team are asking the court to withdraw from the case. Both attorneys say representing Mosby would create a financial hardship and conflict with their schedules.
In one filing, attorney Lucius Outlaw says the schedule for Mosby's trial will conflict with his teaching duties at the Howard University School of Law. In the other filing, attorney Gary Proctor noted that he booked a non-refundable trip to the United Kingdom and that no one consulted him about his availability.

A jury unanimously convicted Richard "Bigo" Barnett on all eight counts in his indictment including felony charges of civil disorder and obstruction of an official proceeding.
Barnett lounging at a desk in Pelosi's office made him one of the most memorable figures from the riot on Jan. 6, 2021, the day when Congress convened a joint session to certify President Joe Biden's electoral victory.

The speculation surrounding the move comes after a leaked video last month featuring the newspaper’s publisher Fred Ryan speaking of plans for staff layoffs, which were fueled by Bezos last week unexpectedly visiting the newsroom. A Houston, Texas woman is being prosecuted after allegedly repeatedly breaking into and terrorizing a synagogue, even missing a court date for one incident to continue harassing the Jewish house of worship.
Ezra Law first appeared at the Congregation Emanu El temple in Houston last week, according to Harris County prosecutors. She was seen on the pulpit by a rabbi who was arriving to prepare for a bar mitzvah ceremony on January 14.

A nationwide power outage in Pakistan left nearly 220 million people without electricity on Monday, threatening to cause havoc in the South Asian nation already grappling with fuel shortages in the winter months.
The country’s Ministry of Energy said in a statement the country’s National Grid went down at 7.34 a.m local time, “causing a widespread breakdown in the power system,” according to initial reports.
