The second-most pressing issue for Israelis was the identity of the party leader, at 24%
The Israeli Voice Index published a poll on Sunday that found that the main factor influencing Israelis' consideration when voting is the party's platform on economic issues.
When asked what factors most strongly influence the decision on which party to vote for ahead of the November elections, 44 percent of Israelis said the party's platform on the high cost of living.
Additionally, an overwhelming majority of Israelis believe that the cost of living in their country is high compared to other countries. The average rise in expenses - as reported by respondents - is 8.5 percent, while incomes are said to have remained the same or even fallen, the Israeli Voice Index found...

The FBI executed a search warrant on Donald Trump’s home in Florida on Monday, the former president said in a statement lashing out at law enforcement for “political persecution.”
“My beautiful home Mar A Lago in Palm Beach, Florida is currently under siege, raided and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Trump said.

A report commissioned by the Maryland Hospital Association warns about a dire need for nurses in the state.
It shows one in every four nursing positions, currently vacant in Maryland.
That equates to statewide shortage of about 5,000 full-time registered nurses and 4,000 licensed practical nurses.
Without action, the association fears those numbers could double or even triple by 2035.
Studies show high staff turnover, shifting care delivery models, and an insufficient talent pipeline as the driving factors.
More specifically, the stress of acute care and burnout accelerated by COVID-19 contributed to the turnover, as did violence against healthcare workers.

A new report shows Maryland ranks 19th in the nation when it comes to child well-being.
According to the Kids Count Data Book, released by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Maryland children experienced anxiety or depression at slightly higher rates than the national average in 2020, which marked the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic.
That coincides with a 26 percent increase nationally in child anxiety and depression during that time.
From 2016 to 2020, anxiety and depression in children ages 3 through17 in the state jumped an overall 36 percent.
Here are some other findings revealed in this year's Data Book.

Frederick County is decertifying its 2022 Primary Election results.
The move comes as officials were already preparing a recount of the County Council's District 3 results.
In that race, a discrepancy was discovered between the total number of votes in the certified results and the number of accepted mail-in and provisional ballots.
It's believed human error occurred while counting those mail-in and provisional ballots.
As result, the Frederick County Board of Elections voted to decertify all primary results.
Now officials will rescan those ballots, beginning on August 10 at 8:30am at 340A Montevue Lane in Frederick. The rescan is open to the public.
The process is expected to take two days, at which point the results will be recertified.

Unknown individuals succeeded last week in breaking into a container located on the other side of the first of two fences in the security circle of the airspace at Ben Gurion International Airport, Israel Hayom reported.
According to the report, the burglars attempted to steal weapons. The fence was neutralized prior to the break-in, and the possibility that the burglars had cooperation from a source within the airport staff is being investigated.
Bullets belonging to the Israel Airports Authority were taken from a container located within the secured area near the fence.

Back-to-back triple-digit scorchers will kick off the work week in Maryland.
The heat index, or feels-like temperature when heat and humidity combine, could reach 103 degrees both Monday and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Hot and humid conditions likely will continue through the early week because of an offshore high pressure system known as a Bermuda high, meteorologists say. Forecast highs in the Baltimore-DC region are in the mid-90s Monday and Tuesday, with a 30 percent chance of rain throught Tuesday night.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday condemned Israel for its two day shooting war with the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in Gaza, going so far as to accuse Israel of murdering children.
"We have clearly stated [to the Israelis] that the Al Aqsa Mosque is Turkey's red line," Erdogan said, condemning the visits of Jewish people to the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism.
"For a couple of days, while Israeli officials have attacked Palestinian civilians, we have clearly demonstrated our stance: There is no excuse for murdering babies.

"I was walking my dog and a little kid, I'd say 11, 12-years-old pulls up on a scooter, and was a little frantic and he's like can you help me," explained Shannon Fraser.
Fraser thought she was helping the boy track down his parents.
He said, "I just need to make a quick phone call."
"I could hear the person talking with him. She was giving him cross streets. Where are you? What street are you at? Trying to direct, he asked me if he could open maps. So, he actually opens maps," said Fraser.
Without Fraser seeing, he also opened up Venmo.
"I received a notification from my bank that said your Venmo transaction of $1,800 has been approved. Right after that, it said your Venmo of $2,000 has been approved, 3,800 total," said Fraser.

A 15-year-old girl was killed in Southwest Baltimore, after being accidentally shot in the head by a 9-year-old boy, said police.
Fifteen-year-old Nykayia Strawder was shot at about 8:01 p.m., on Linnard Street, just north of Edmondson Avenue.
The girl was found unresponsive, and died after being taken to a hospital.
Witnesses told police that the 9-year-old boy was playing with a loaded handgun when it accidentally went off, striking the girl in the head.
"If that gun had been in the gun case like it was supposed to be, both of those children will still have futures to look forward to," said Theresa Hargrave, community member.
The 9-year-old then dropped the gun and ran away.

You may not be thinking of winter and snow quite yet, as some parts of the country are experiencing the hottest weather of the year right now. However, if you'd like to take a look at the weather possibilities, the Farmers' Almanac has released is extended 2022-23 winter forecast.
In Maryland, it is expected to be "unreasonably cold" and "snowy," especially in January, according to the Farmers' Almanac forecast.
