Troopers arrested a Pikesville man Wednesday in connection with a road rage incident in which a man allegedly pointed a gun at another driver.
Maryland State Police said troopers were called around 6:20 p.m. for a report of a road rage incident on Pulaski Highway in the area of Long Bar Harbor Road in the Abingdon area.
State police said a white Honda CR-V stopped in one of the lanes of Pulaski Highway. Police said another driver honked his horn at the stopped vehicle before getting out to check on the Honda driver.
Police said the victim looked in the Honda and the driver pointed a handgun at the victim and fled.

Anthony Fauci, the chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, suffered a rebound of Covid-19 symptoms after taking Pfizer Inc.’s antiviral Paxlovid, Bloomberg reports. Despite being fully vaccinated and twice-boosted, Fauci contracted Covid earlier this month and was prescribed Paxlovid due to his age – 81 – which puts him at high risk of developing complications.
“After I finished the five days of Paxlovid, I reverted to negative on an antigen test for three days in a row,” Fauci said during an event at Foreign Policy’s Global Health Forum. “And then on the fourth day, just to be absolutely certain, I tested myself again. I reverted back to positive.”

The Supreme Court on Thursday curbed the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ability to regulate climate change, setting limits on how the agency can deal with power plant emissions.
In a 6-3 ruling, the justices determined that Congress did not authorize the EPA to induce a shift toward cleaner energy sources using the approach that an Obama-era regulation sought to.
“Congress did not grant EPA … the authority to devise emissions caps based on the generation shifting approach the Agency took in the Clean Power Plan,” the majority wrote.
The ruling was spurred by an appeal to a decision last year that struck down a Trump-era power plant rule.

The Supreme Court ruled for the Biden administration Thursday in a dispute over a Trump-era immigration policy that requires U.S. asylum seekers at the southern border to wait in Mexico while their applications are processed.
The 5-4 ruling found that the administration did not violate federal immigration law when it sought to rescind the policy. The justices returned the case to lower courts for additional proceedings.
Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy, enacted in 2019, has remained in effect under President Biden despite his Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) effort to end it. Lower courts, in response to a red state legal challenge, have blocked DHS’s two attempts to unwind the policy.

The Treasury Department today announced the delivery of $1.3 billion in economic aid to Ukraine, as the United States seeks to help the beleaguered nation respond to the enormous financial impact of Russia’s invasion.
The transferred funds – the first of $7.5 billion in economic aid approved by Congress last month – comes amid new estimates that Ukraine’s economy and infrastructure have suffered extensive damage from the war. Ukraine faces a monthly budget deficit of $5 billion and has sustained more than $100 billion in direct damage to its civilian infrastructure alone, according to analysts at the Kyiv School of Economics. Palestinian sources said clashes erupted between Palestinian Islamic Jihad militants and IDF soldiers
Palestinian gunfire and fireworks lightly wounded three Jewish worshipers at Joseph's Tomb in Nablus, the West Bank, according to reports early Thursday.
The Samaria Regional Council said thousands of worshipers arrived overnight to pray at the Jewish holy site, which is located in the Palestinian Authority-controlled area.
Footage on social media showed fierce clashes between the Israel Defense Forces and Palestinian militants.

The national price of gasoline dropped for a second consecutive week just in time for a holiday weekend where many Americans will hit the road to travel for vacation and July 4 celebrations.
The average price for a gallon of gas is $4.86, according to AAA, down 9 cents from a week ago but still $1.70 higher than last year. The main driver of the decrease at the pump has been a drop in crude oil prices, which make up roughly 60% of the cost of fuel.
Some analysts attribute the drop in crude oil to fears of recessions in the world’s economies due to rising interest rates and inflation.

Judge Melissa Phinn previously ordered supervised probations for Austin Davidson, who was arrested for killing a Wicomico County deputy on June 12, and Joseph Black, accused of dragging a Baltimore City police officer for two blocks on Tuesday, according to court documents.
Judge Phinn has been serving as the Associate Judge of Baltimire City Circuit County, 8th Judicial Court since 2013.

Ketanji Brown Jackson will be sworn in Thursday to formally become a Supreme Court justice, officially making her the nation’s first Black woman to serve in the role.
She will fill the seat being vacated by the retiring Justice Stephen Breyer, 83, whose previously announced departure after nearly 28 years on the bench will take effect Thursday at noon.
Jackson is expected to join Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan in forming a three-member liberal minority on the court, a role previously filled by Breyer, for whom Jackson once clerked.
