Palestinian sources said clashes erupted between Palestinian Islamic Jihad militants and IDF soldiers
Palestinian gunfire and fireworks lightly wounded three Jewish worshipers at Joseph's Tomb in Nablus, the West Bank, according to reports early Thursday.
The Samaria Regional Council said thousands of worshipers arrived overnight to pray at the Jewish holy site, which is located in the Palestinian Authority-controlled area.
Footage on social media showed fierce clashes between the Israel Defense Forces and Palestinian militants.
The gunmen, who Palestinian reports said were members of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, opened fire and hurled Molotov cocktails at the soldiers tasked with protecting the worshipers.

The national price of gasoline dropped for a second consecutive week just in time for a holiday weekend where many Americans will hit the road to travel for vacation and July 4 celebrations.
The average price for a gallon of gas is $4.86, according to AAA, down 9 cents from a week ago but still $1.70 higher than last year. The main driver of the decrease at the pump has been a drop in crude oil prices, which make up roughly 60% of the cost of fuel.
Some analysts attribute the drop in crude oil to fears of recessions in the world’s economies due to rising interest rates and inflation.

The same Baltimore City judge made plea deal with previously convicted felons who came back to commit violent crimes while out of jail.
Judge Melissa Phinn previously ordered supervised probations for Austin Davidson, who was arrested for killing a Wicomico County deputy on June 12, and Joseph Black, accused of dragging a Baltimore City police officer for two blocks on Tuesday, according to court documents.
Judge Phinn has been serving as the Associate Judge of Baltimire City Circuit County, 8th Judicial Court since 2013.

Ketanji Brown Jackson will be sworn in Thursday to formally become a Supreme Court justice, officially making her the nation’s first Black woman to serve in the role.
She will fill the seat being vacated by the retiring Justice Stephen Breyer, 83, whose previously announced departure after nearly 28 years on the bench will take effect Thursday at noon.
Jackson is expected to join Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan in forming a three-member liberal minority on the court, a role previously filled by Breyer, for whom Jackson once clerked.

The Biden administration announced Wednesday that is paying $3.2 billion for 105 million doses of an updated Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for a fall campaign, pending Food and Drug Administration signoff on the new formula.
The order is a major step in the administration’s efforts to move forward with a new vaccination push this fall, in a bid to blunt a renewed COVID-19 surge when the weather turns colder in much of the country.
The updated vaccine is expected to target the omicron variant, with the goal of providing improved protection.

The Secret Service said on Tuesday that it will have more to say about allegations that former President Trump tried to grab the steering wheel of his vehicle and then lunged at the head of his security detail when informed he would not be able to join his supporters at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Co-founder and chairman of the ZAKA volunteer emergency response organization Yehuda Meshi-Zahav was niftar today at the geriatric-psychiatric Herzog Hospital in Yerushalayim. He was 62 years old.
Meshi-Zahav was found unconscious at his home in the Yerushalayim suburb of Givat Ze’ev. He was rushed to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in critical condition, and remained unconscious until his passing today.
Meshi-Zahav was revered by all sectors in Israel. ZAKA is perceived by many as an organization that bridged the gaps between the religious and secular sectors. He was an intended recipient of the Israel Prize for lifetime achievement.

A Baltimore City police officer is still fighting for his life after being dragged by a car during a traffic stop.
On Wednesday, a heavy police presence in West Baltimore is believed to be related to that incident. A person was just taken into custody following what police described as a “possible barricade situation” on Druid Hill Avenue.
The whole area was blocked off by SWAT teams Wednesday morning. As of noon, detectives were still on the scene.

Gov. Kristi Noem, R-S.D., said the Biden administration again will prevent South Dakota from celebrating the Fourth of July with fireworks at Mount Rushmore.
After the administration rejected Noem's permit request for fireworks last year, the state in September applied to hold fireworks at the national memorial this year. The request was denied.
