Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki’s move to MSNBC is official, the network announced Tuesday.
Psaki will appear on MSNBC’s programming starting in the fall, and will then launch a new streaming show set to premiere on the network in early 2023. The program “will bring together her unique perspective from behind the podium and her deep experience in the highest levels of government and presidential politics to MSNBC viewers,” the network said.
Psaki left her role as White House press secretary earlier this month. Reports of her move to MSNBC first surfaced in early April, but she declined to confirm the reports at the time.

An ISIS operative living in Ohio on a pending asylum application has been accused of plotting to assassinate former President George W. Bush and a former Iraqi general supposedly living in the U.S. under a new identity. A search warrant application obtained by Forbes alleges that the man, who Forbes has not identified, tried to obtain fake FBI gear, and video-taped Bush’s home in Dallas. The filing says he planned to smuggle seven accomplices into the U.S. via the Mexico border to help carry out the hit.

A massive recall is getting most of the blame for the U.S. baby formula shortage, but experts say the products have long been vulnerable to this type of crisis due to decades-old policies that have allowed a handful of companies to corner the market.
Those government rules — aimed at assuring safe, affordable formula — are getting renewed scrutiny as President Joe Biden’s administration rushes to import formula from Europe.
“There’s perfectly good and safe baby formula available around the world. We just don’t have access to it,” said Bindiya Vakil, CEO of Resilinc, a supply chain analytics firm. ”We’ve created this problem by not setting up an infrastructure for imports.”

A shooting at a Texas elementary school killed 14 children and one teacher Tuesday, Gov. Greg Abbott said.
Abbott identified the suspect as Salvador Ramas, a Uvalde resident, who is also dead.
The Texas Department of Public Safety and Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin told Fox News that the shooter – who ran to Robb Elementary School – had become barricaded inside. Uvalde Memorial Hospital confirmed that two people were brought to the hospital deceased.
Fifteen children were taken to the facility via ambulance or bus for treatment, a hospital spokesman told Fox News.

Jerusalem, Israel – May 24, 2022 - HaGaon HaRav Simcha HaKohen Kook, the chief rabbi of Rehovot and the historic Hurva Synagogue in the Old City of Yerushalayim, was niftar on Tuesday at age 92.
HaRav Kook was hospitalized for several days in Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem for a lung infection that caused difficulties in breathing.

A crash involving three tractor-trailers Tuesday afternoon closed a portion of the Fort McHenry Tunnel, according to the Baltimore firefighters union.
The union said hazardous materials crews were requested due to spilled diesel fuel.
Additional paramedic units have been called.
According to the Maryland Transportation Authority, the right tube of the southbound tunnel is closed, but the left tube remains open for traffic.

First visit to Jewish state by a senior Turkish official in more than a decade
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu landed in Israel on Tuesday for a landmark visit amid warming relations between Jerusalem and Ankara.
The diplomat's two-day visit also includes a stop on Tuesday in Ramallah to meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki.

Israeli researchers from Tel Aviv University discovered a mechanism shared by genetic mutations associated with autism, schizophrenia, Alzheimer's and other brain disorders.
The research team was led by by Prof. Illana Gozes from the Department of Human Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine and the Sagol School of Neuroscience.

The police union in Baltimore County seeks to remove the police chief.
The Baltimore County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 4 sent a letter Monday to County Executive Johnny Olszewski, calling on him to remove Chief Melissa Hyatt from her position.
The letter states the FOP has lost all faith and confidence in Hyatt and it lists eight reasons why it feels she should be fired. Among those reasons, the FOP writes, includes her support for a disciplinary process for internal complaints that would have eliminated due process trial boards.

Roberta Metsola on her first visit to the Jewish state
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola pledged to strengthen ties with Israel and fight antisemitism in a speech on Monday at the Knesset in Jerusalem.
"Being antisemitic means being anti-European," Metsola told lawmakers gathered at Israel's parliament for the special address.
"This is my first visit, but it won't be my last," the 43-year-old who was elected in January said.
