A joint military exercise in which Russia and China flew nuclear-capable bombers Tuesday during President Biden’s trip to eastern Asia demonstrates how both sides remain close "even as Russia brutalizes Ukraine," a senior administration official tells Fox News.  The drills, which the official described as the most significant cooperation between the two countries since Russia invaded Ukraine three months ago, come as Biden is in Tokyo for the Quad leaders summit with the leaders of Japan, India and Australia.  "The exercise shows that China is continuing its military cooperation with Russia in the Indo-Pacific even as Russia brutalizes Ukraine," the official said. "It also shows that Russia will stand with China in the East and South China Seas, n...

The following has been cleared for publication: An investigation by the Israeli Security Agency (ISA), in cooperation with the Israel Police (Jerusalem District), has revealed that in early April 2022 Hamas terrorists from eastern Jerusalem planned to attack Israeli targets in various formats. The suspects planned – inter alia – to shoot at Israeli targets and public figures including MK Itamar Ben-Gvir, manufacture IEDs and abduct soldiers. The suspects acquired a UAV in order to arm it and use it to attack the Jerusalem light rail. The ISA has learned that this cell was led by Rashid Rashak, a prominent Hamas militant in the Old City of Jerusalem, who also planned – together with Mansur Tzafadi, a Hamas militant from Abu Tor – to carry out a shooting attack or...
Chani Lifshitz, a Chabad emissary in Nepal, sent me the following thought from Katmandu:"This week we begin reading the Book  of Numbers, which talks about our travels in the desert. The entire  book transpires in the desert, between Egypt and the Land of Israel. The Book of Numbers teaches us how to behave while on the road in the midst of a long journey. Even when we are far from our destination, when we are in a desert of uncertainty, we can live a life of stability. The Torah describes how the nation of Israel conducted itself with exemplary orderliness, how the people erected the Mishkan wherever they stopped, how in the heart of the wilderness they adhered to values and followed rules. When we talk about this Torah portion in the Chabad House in Katmandu, everyone listens with...

Gov. Larry Hogan said he’s been invited to attend this summer’s Iowa State Fair, a key stop for candidates with presidential aspirations. "We’ve been invited to join some folks out there, and we’re looking forward to that one, as well.” Make no mistake, though, Hogan plans to be at the Maryland State Fairgrounds this summer. “I’m not going to skip the Maryland fair, you can count on that,” he said. Luckily for Hogan, there is no schedule overlap between the two. Iowa’s state fair runs from Aug. 11-21, while Maryland’s is from Aug. 25-Sept. 11. Speaking from the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Switzerland, Hogan did weigh in on the 2024 presidential election and the state of the Republican Party. As to wh...

According to the sources, the US took the leading role in solving the issue of transferring two strategic islands in the Red Sea, Tiran and Sanafir, from Egypt to Saudi Arabia. The police union in Baltimore County seeks to remove the police chief. The Baltimore County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 4 sent a letter Monday to County Executive Johnny Olszewski, calling on him to remove Chief Melissa Hyatt from her position. The letter states the FOP has lost all faith and confidence in Hyatt and it lists eight reasons why it feels she should be fired. Among those reasons, the FOP writes, includes her support for a disciplinary process for internal complaints that would have eliminated due process trial boards. The FOP also criticized the way she handled a handful of [...] harassment complaints within the executive corps. Olszewski's office responded Monday night with a statement, saying: "I remain fully confident in Chief Hyatt and her ability to lead ...

The court ruled Sunday in favor of Jewish youths who were arrested for bowing and reciting the “Shema Israel” prayer on the Temple Mount last week during Nakba Day. Police sought to ban the worshipers from the Temple Mount, but the court ruled that the young Jews' actions did not disturb the peace or interfere with police on duty. The police appeal said that the court was mistaken in “drawing conclusions about government policy regarding the rules of conduct on the Temple Mount based on an online journalistic...
The Hamas terrorist organization issued a threat Sunday over the planned Jerusalem Day Flag March which is scheduled for a week from today. Addressing a ceremony in Gaza to mark the one-year anniversary of Operation Guardian of the Walls, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said: "We will never allow the desecration of the Al Aqsa Mosque or the attack on our people in Jerusalem, the West Bank and the territories occupied in 1948." "Our battle with the enemy has entered a new stage in all its dimensions and consequences, and we will achieve a great victory for our people," he said. While Israel is waiting until September to see if the rate of Israelis denied entry to the United States falls below the 3% threshold, US officials say the figure looks “encouraging”, Kan 11 News reported on Monday. In recent months, Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid have been making efforts to end all bureaucratic and security issues vis-à-vis the US administration by September, in order to lead to an exemption from visas for Israelis. The exemption plan, if approved, will free Israelis from the need to obtain a visa for a visit of up to three months in the United States. Today, the rate of refusals for Israelis is higher than 3% because of the high rate of Israelis caught working in the United States without a permit. The Whi...

I was hoping to never be able to release this song as we would already be in Yerushalayim Habenuyah, but after a year of both personal and communal loss, I decided to share this song with others. When is my heartfelt tefillah for the RBS"O to have rachmanus on his beloved children and allow us to be united through the ultimate redemption. Please join me in beseeching our Heavenly Father to bring an end to our galus b'karov!!  The  horrific murder of 11 kedoshim at the  Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh  was a startling reminder to the American Jewish community of our vulnerability in the medina shel chesed. To most this was an eye opening experience, a stark reminder that we are still in galus. Sadly these types of events are nothing new, as Klal Yisrael ha...
