The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Tuesday that it had amended the emergency use authorization (EUA) for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, allowing the use of a single booster dose in children ages 5 to 11. For the past 26 months, air passengers to and from Israel have been required to wear masks.  Today, Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz announced the demise of this policy. Beginning at midnight on May 23 (the night between Sunday and Monday), masks will no longer be required on flights to or from Israel. Chaim V’Chessed notes that the announcement comes on the heels of the cancellation of Covid testing for air passengers. Hence, the only Covid related travel rule will be the requirement to fill out the online Health Declaration.

City Council President Nick Mosby said Monday he can't return money collected by a legal defense fund set up for him and his wife, Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby because he doesn't personally have the funds. "There was never any money that was passed along," Nick Mosby said. "Not much money was collected so there's nothing to give back." The Baltimore City Ethics Board last week said Nick Mosby violated city ethics rules with the creation of the fund and ordered him to return some of the donations. Family members of a patient who was evacuated in critical condition to Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus in Jerusalem rioted in the intensive care unit after being notified of his death. Dozens of family members of the victim, residents of eastern Jerusalem, broke doors and windows, destroyed the nurses' stand and beat the staff members. Hospital security guards and police officers who were called to the scene were able to restore order. Two medical personnel suffered light injuries and were treated in the hospital emergency room. Maryland's gas prices continue rising and setting records for a cost per gallon, as the average price at the pump hit $4.47 for a gallon of regular gas, according to AAA. The new statewide average jumped six cents from a week ago, setting another record high. In Maryland, AAA reported the average price for regular gasoline Monday was $4.471, the highest-ever recorded average. That average is up from $4.45 on Sunday, $4.40 a week ago, $3.68 a month ago, and $3.06 a year ago. Diesel set a record Sunday for the average price per gallon of $5.94. The national average price for regular gas is $4.48 for a gallon of gas.
