Two arrests were made after a fan of rival team Burnley FC was filmed making Nazi salutes during a home game against the Tottenham Hotspurs in London, England on Sunday. A man in the visiting team area of the stands was filmed performing the antisemitic gesture while the man next to him pretended to cry in the direction of the Tottenham fans. The men were removed from the stadium and then arrested by police, charged with a racially aggravated public order offence and placed in custody. Commenting on the footage which quickly spread on social media, fans called the actions of the two men “shameful” and “disgusting,” with many calling for the two accused to be banned for life by the team. "The club can confirm two visiting supporters have been identified and arres...
Amid the relentless violence in Baltimore, calls are growing louder for extra help. Even city leaders are now saying more state intervention is needed. FOX45 spoke with a law enforcement expert on how this could save lives. In just the last week the city saw a pregnant woman and her unborn baby targeted. City violence ripping the child's life apart before it even began. The senseless violence has some asking what is the breaking point? "Nobody wants to keep responding to someone being shot or a pregnant woman and a child being shot," says former FBI agent Dr. Tyrone Powers. Doctors at Johns Hopkins made an emergency delivery of the baby Thursday. The child is fighting for its life. At the shooting scene in east Baltimore that claimed the life of the baby's mother and father...
Baltimore City Council President Nick Mosby and Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby's joint legal defense fund website is not currently in operation. The webpage displays a statement "maintenance mode on " with no other options available on the site. A Donorbox site apparently connected to the Mosbys (donorboxorg/the-mosby-s-2021-trust) is also down. It displays an error indicating the page is not available. FOX45 News has reached out to the city council president for comment. The change comes after Thursday's ruling from the Baltimore City Ethics Board that found Nick Mosby violated rules regarding a legal defense fund created to help him and his wife, Marilyn Mosby, to offset the cost of legal fees during a federal investigation. The U.S. death toll from COVID-19 hit 1 million on Monday, a once-unimaginable figure that only hints at the multitudes of loved ones and friends staggered by grief and frustration. The confirmed number of dead is equivalent to a 9/11 attack every day for 336 days. It is roughly equal to how many Americans died in the Civil War and World War II combined. It's as if Boston and Pittsburgh were wiped out. "It is hard to imagine a million people plucked from this earth," said Jennifer Nuzzo, who leads a new pandemic center at the Brown University School of Public Health in Providence, Rhode Island. "It's still happening and we are letting it happen." Some of those left behind say they cannot return to normal. They replay their loved ones' voicemail messages. Or watch old vide...
A former FDA commissioner is blaming the current nationwide baby formula shortage on the U.S. government. Stores are having a difficult time keeping baby formula in stock since Abbott Nutrition, a major supplier of baby formula, shut down its Michigan factory in February over bacterial contamination concerns. According to Datasembly, the out-of-stock rate for formula is 43% nationwide and slightly higher in Maryland at about 47%. The former head of the FDA said that should have prompted more aggressive action from the FDA to do something. Parents across the country are struggling to find formula to feed their babies. While the national out-of-stock rate averages about 43%, eight states and Washington D.C. are at least 50 percent out-of-stock of baby formula. Those out-of-stock nu...
"Shalom Sivan, My name Is Nechama Spielman from Kibbutz Tirat Tzvi. I think it's important to publish the following story:Neta Eiger, an 11th grader from the kibbutz, traveled abroad to participate in the International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad. (By the way, Neta is a descendant of Rabbi Akiva Eiger, who was famous for his genius as a Torah scholar.)Israel sent its six best young chemists to the competition, and Neta was one of them. He excelled in the first two stages of the competition but, unfortunately, the third and most important stage, a laboratory examination, was held last Shabbat.Despite earlier promises to allow him to take the exam on Friday or Saturday night, he was ultimately not allowed to do this. In our view, Israel should have insisted upon allowing this as a matt...
U.S. baby-food shortages are driving some Americans to try to make baby formula themselves. With store shelves emptying, some desperate parents are turning to the internet for do-it-yourself recipes. But these homemade versions come with serious health risks, medical professionals and health officials say. “Do not make your own formula at home,” said Florida pediatrician Mona Amin. “As tempting as it can be, there’s no safeguards that’s safe, that it’s nutritious.” Formula shortages have been a problem for parents since last year because of supply-chain disruptions, but stockpiles were further squeezed after Abbott Laboratories’ nutrition unit recalled some of its products earlier this year, including top-selling brand Similac. The scarci...

A Charedi man spent Shabbos  in jail, after he tried to immerse himself in a spring near the city of Beitar Illit, south of Jerusalem. Israeli police arrested the man Friday afternoon outside of the predominantly haredi city of Beitar Illit, after he and a friend – both residents of the city – went hiking towards a nearby spring, intended to use the spring as a mikva, or ritual bath. While one man managed to evade police, the other was arrested and accused of damaging a local security fence and crossing into Palestinian Authority-controlled territory without authorization. The man was int...
