Agudath Israel expresses our grief after the horrific racially-motivated shooting in Buffalo, New York, yesterday. Our condolences to the victims’ families, and our prayers for those injured. The shooter, a self-proclaimed white supremacist and antisemite, killed ten and injured three more – almost all of whom were Black – in a deadly massacre. In a 180-page hate-filled racist and antisemitic manifesto, the shooter labeled his forthcoming attack as “terrorism.” We agree, and we call upon the full force of the judicial system to punish the shooter to the extent the law allows.

The national average gas price hit a record high, and is expected to continue rising as the energy supply crunch in the U.S. rages on.
The average price for a gallon of gasoline in the U.S. rose to a record Sunday morning to $4.47, according to the latest numbers from AAA. The price on Saturday was $4.452.
Some states with higher-than-average prices include California at $5.92 a gallon, and Hawaii at $5.32.
Diesel also hit its own highest recorded cost just above $5.56.
Before Russia was hit with sanctions for invading Ukraine, threatening the already tight global oil market, the national average was at $3.53, according to Andy Lipow, the president of Lipow Oil Associates.

Russia has likely lost one-third of its ground combat forces in Ukraine and the forces who remain are depleted and have been unable to make any territorial progress in recent weeks, British intelligence officials said early Sunday.
Russia "has now likely suffered losses of one-third of the ground combat force it committed in February," the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense said in an update.

Daoud Zabuidi, the terrorist who opened fire towards soldiers in Jenin on Friday, died of his wounds at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa Sunday morning.
Daoud was the brother of Zakaria Zubeidi, an Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade terrorist responsible for a terrorist attack in Beit She'an in which six people were killed and one of the terrorists who briefly escaped from the Gilboa Prison last year.
Zubeidi was transferred to Rambam on Friday while being anesthetized and placed on assisted breathing, and was treated in serious condition. He was treated in intensive care and this morning was pronounced dead.

Blinken offered the support of US diplomats in Jerusalem to the family of Abu Akleh
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with the family of slain Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh after criticizing Israel's use of force at her funeral, an official said Sunday.
Blinken, during his flight Saturday to Berlin for a meeting of NATO foreign ministers, offered "deep condolences" in a phone call with family members of Shireen Abu Akleh, a State Department official said.
The top US diplomat "noted Abu Akleh's journalistic body of work and the importance of a free and independent press," the official said on customary condition of anonymity.

Israeli police on Saturday announced a probe into the actions of border policemen during the funeral of an Al Jazeera reporter, following an international outcry over videos showing Israeli security forces pummeling the Palestinian pallbearers with batons.

US officials on Friday criticized Israel after violent clashes broke out during the funeral of Al Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Aqleh, who was killed during an exchange of gunfire between IDF troops and Palestinian Arab terrorists in Jenin earlier this week.
While the Israel Police had taken action before the funeral in an attempt to prevent clashes, hundreds of Arabs gathered at the funeral, shouted calls of incitement and later also threw rocks the police officers, who were forced to take action to disperse the rioters.

The American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ) has been retained to represent over two dozen Jews who were not allowed to board a Lufthansa flight.
The flight, traveling from Frankfurt to Budapest, did not allow any Jews to board after some refused to wear masks. It is estimated that around 150 Jews were affected.
