South Carolina sheriff’s deputies arrested a 14-year-old male high school student Monday on charges that he threatened to shoot up schools in his county, authorities said.  The Lexington County Sheriff’s Office said the Gilbert High School student made a "threatening statement" while on the bus last Thursday, and another student overheard them. The student told school administrators that he heard the other student allegedly talking about wearing a trench coat the next day and shooting up an elementary school and a middle school, according to an incident report cited by the sheriff’s office. "The student who came forward should be commended for doing the right thing," Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. "They heard something and reporte...
In October, the government infuriated the public by contributing millions to cat welfare but refusing to raise the miserable stipends paid to enlisted troops. Their salaries are now to be raised by 50% from next year at the cost of $300 million — the first such salary increase since 2017. Combat troops will now receive $1,012 monthly in their third year of service, combat support troops $558, and administrators $407 monthly, still short of Israel’s minimum wage of $1,060. Stipends of national service volunteers are to be raised by $180 monthly to $270, at a total cost of $20 million. Finance ministry officials were angry that Avigdor Lieberman failed to coordinate the wage increase with them, saying there was only resources to pay half the $300 million cost.
Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan sent a scathing letter to the UN Secretary-General António Guterres following statistics published by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in which it differentiates between the murder of “Israeli Citizens” and “Settlers.” The OCHA report listed the number of Israeli and Arab casualties, either killed or wounded in hostilities, from 2008. The letter, sent Friday, was authored following the discovery that the agency’s website separates Israeli casualties into three categories – security personnel, civilians, and “civilian settlers.” Additionally, following the murder of Eli Kay in a terror attack in Jerusalem committed by a Hamas-linked terrorist...

Explosions were heard in the Syrian port city of Latakia overnight Monday, the Syrian news agency reported. According to the report, a fire broke out in the area. Official media outlets in Syria claimed that the explosions and fire were a result of an air strike carried out by Israel. The reports also indicated that Syrian air defenses responded to the "Israeli aggression" and intercepted most of the missiles. A military source told Syria’s official SANA news agency that at around 1:23 a.m., "the Israeli enemy carried out an air strike." According to the source, a number of missiles were fired from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea, southwest of Latakia, and the attack targeted a lot with containers in the commercial port of Latakia. About two weeks ago, Syr...

Incoming NYC Mayor Eric Adams will not commit to enforcing Mayor deBlasio’s new vaccine mandate on private companies when he takes office in several weeks. According to the NY Times, Adams is going to reevaluate the controversial mandate, as well as other current Covid policies enacted by the authoritarian Mayor. On Monday, a spokesman for Adams suggested that while Adams will follow the “science”, he won’t necessarily follow deBlasio. Evan Thies said, “The mayor-elect will evaluate this mandate and other Covid strategies when he is in office and make determinations based on science, efficacy and the advice of health professionals.” There has been much speculation over whether Mr. Adams, who has not taken a position on many of the lame-duck Mayor&rsqu...
A Hamas terrorist died as a result of the collapse of a tunnel east of Gaza City today, several sources reported. The terrorist was said to be Hani Sami Salah, 26, a resident of the Al-Tufah neighborhood in Gaza City. This incident occurred just days after Maj. Avichai Adraee, the IDF’s spokesman in Arabic, issued a warning to the residents of the Gaza Strip to stay away from Hamas’ tunnels following several landslides in the area, the result of the collapse of Hamas’ terror tunnel network. Adraee stated that in the last month, the Gaza Strip witnessed more than three such collapses. “According to estimates, the cause of these collapses is linked to the underground system of Hamas,” he noted in Arabic. “These events are a new example, but not the onl...
The space rivalry between the U.S. and China is suddenly heating up after a top Chinese scientist said his nation may be able to send astronauts to the moon for the first time by 2030. Coming just weeks after President Joe Biden’s top space official set out a similar timetable for new American lunar exploration, the comments set up the possibility of dueling missions between the two of the world’s best-financed space powers. While China has made no secret of its desire to launch crewed lunar missions, the optimistic outlook from Chinese Academy of Sciences member Ye Peijian raises the possibility of an accelerated timetable to match the Americans. “As long as the technological research for manned moon landing continues, and as long as the country is determined, it is e...
A group of British Chabad teens who were harassed by a youth mob in London while celebrating on an open-top bus returned to the scene of the incident to light Hanukkah candles on Sunday night. The menorah lighting event was organized by Chabad and was attended by around 50 people who showed up in solidarity, the Jewish Chronicle reported. At the beginning of Hanukkah, the teens were celebrating in an open-top bus on Oxford street when they were attacked by a mob of violent youths. The mob attempted to smash the bus's windows while others made Nazi salutes and spit. Police were called to the scene and the Chabad teens returned unharmed to the bus. The incident is being investigated as a hate crime by London police. The show of defiance by Chabad and its supporte...
Michigan school officials could still face charges following the tragic Oxford High School shooting last week that left four students dead and seven other people injured.  "It’s possible, yes," Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said on NBC’s "Today" show when asked if it was "possible that school officials could face charges." She did not elaborate further on her comment.  New details on how the school handled suspected shooter Ethan Crumbley emerged this weekend, when Oxford Community Schools superintendent Tim Thorne sent a letter to the school community. The letter explained that on the day of the shooting, school leaders met with Crumbley and his parents following a teacher seeing violent drawings made by Crumbley. Cru...
Human rights attorney Brooke Goldstein blasted Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Sunday for being part of "systemic anti-Semitism." "There is an alarming rise of Jew hatred to the point where it has become systemic … I use the word systemic for a reason because Jew hatred is no longer on the fringes of society – it has become systemic. [It comes from] politicians like Ilhan Omar, who accuse Jewish Americans of having dual loyalty," the Lawfare Project director, Jewish civil rights legal arm, said on "Fox News Live."  "This is coming from someone in the United States right now in a position of power," she added. Goldstein, including some of Omar's Democratic colleagues, view the congresswoman's past statements on Israel to cross a line into&nb...

The defense establishment is preparing for the possibility of copycat attacks. In recent days, the IDF and the police have sharpened their instructions to soldiers and officers, but for now it has been decided not to raise the level of alertness among the security forces. According to the report, the Palestinian Authority is concerned that the attacks will inflame the situation in the territories under the PA's control, and therefore the security forces have increased their activities to arrest potential terrorists - including Hamas terrorists. In addition, about 40 wanted suspects wer...

Prices at the gas pump have dipped once again, and they're likely to drop even more, according to an industry expert. Currently, the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in the U.S. is $3.347, Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, told FOX Business.  On Sunday, De Haan noted that prices fell "to $3.349/gal, the lowest since Oct. 19" and that "more declines" are likely to follow in the coming days.  De Haan told FOX Business on Monday that with "crude oil edging slightly higher, we may have slightly lower chances of seeing the national average fall under $3 [per gallon]."  Currently, the price of West Texas Intermediate crude oil is $67.84 per barrel.  However, he is still expecting "more price drops across the country this w...
The Biden administration won’t send U.S. officials to attend the coming 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, staging a diplomatic boycott that drew immediate criticism from China. An announcement of the U.S. boycott is planned for this week, an administration official said Monday.  The decision to withhold official U.S. representation at the Olympics was made several weeks ago, though administration officials waited to make the announcement to allow some time to pass after a phone call last month between President Biden and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to stabilize tense relations, advisers to the administration said. While such a boycott would keep U.S. officials from attending the games, the move wouldn’t affect participation by athletes. The U.S...
