Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald announced the 15-year-old suspect in the Michigan school shooting will be charged with one count of terrorism causing death, four counts of first degree murder, seven counts of assault with intent to murder and 12 counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
The suspect will be charged as an adult, McDonald said.
"There are crimes that the legislature said that are so serious, that a person who commits them can automatically be charged as an adult. First Degree Murder is the most serious of all those crimes. Second, there are facts leading up to the shooting that suggests, this was not just an impulsive act," McDonald said, who noted those facts "are not appropriate for discussion" at this time.

This weeks Parsha gives us a deep insight into the human condition. As the famine intensified throughout the land, Yaakov sent his sons down to Mitzrayim to purchase grain. The brothers came to Mitzrayim and eventually found themselves in front of Yoseph, their brother whom they had sold into slavery years earlier. The Pasuk tell us that “Yoseph recognized his brothers but they did not recognize him” (42:8). Rashi is apparently troubled by the notion that the brothers would not have recognized Yoseph. Tel Aviv is the world’s most expensive city, The Economist reported on Wednesday.
A strong shekel and price increases for goods and services have moved Israel’s “White City” to the top spot this year—up four from 2020—replacing Paris, according to the Worldwide Cost of Living Survey from the newspaper’s sister company, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
The annual survey compares the prices of more than 200 products and services in 173 cities globally, The Economist said, explaining that it is used primarily by companies negotiating compensation when relocating staff, but can serve to gauge local and worldwide trends.

The Israeli military has accelerated its readiness plans aimed at preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear threshold state and to stop its entrenchment in the northern arena, Israel Defense Forces’ spokesman Brig. Gen. Ran Kochav told the Israeli Reshet Bet radio network on Tuesday.
“When I say that we are accelerating the plans against Iran, I mean it,” he affirmed during his radio interview.
Asked to comment on the nuclear talks in Vienna, Kochav replied: “I’m not going into political affairs. As we’ve said in the past, we are preparing for all possibilities.”

Tonight (Wednesday), the fourth night of Hanukkah, the Education Ministry held the International Bible Quiz for Adults at the Hebrew University.
The quiz was held in the presence of the Education Minister Dr. Yifat Shasha Bitton, and the Director General of the Education Ministry, Brigadier General (Res.) Yigal Slovik.
Twelve contestants from Israel and around the world qualified for the final stage of the quiz. They defeated about 350 contestants who took part in all stages of the quiz, and managed to demonstrate admirable mastery of the holy book.
Two winners were declared for the quiz, Liron Ben Moshe from Alfei Menashe, Israel, and Yair Yosef Guggenheim from Karnei Shomron, Israel.

Israel Police arrested on Monday an Israeli-Arab man from eastern Jerusalem who held his wedding celebrations in the middle of the Begin Highway in Jerusalem and blocked the road to traffic.
The incident occurred three months ago but only garnered attention this week after footage of the celebrations obtained by Im Tirtzu's Arab Desk was published on social media by the organization.

The U.S. has detected the nation's first case of the omicron variant of the coronavirus in California, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said Wednesday.
The individual was a fully vaccinated traveler who returned from South Africa on November 22, the CDC said. The person had mild symptoms that are improving, and is self-quarantining.
The person has since tested negative, and all close contacts have also tested negative, the CDC added.

A bus full of Jewish teens celebrating Chanukkah in London, UK was attacked by a mob of violent youths who attempted to smash its windows while others made Nazi salutes.
According to the UK Jewish News, police are investigating the incident. Video footage shows the young men yelling anti-Semitic abuse and threats at the open-top bus, while also attempting to smash its windows and spitting at it.
Some of them also took off a shoe and hit the bus with it, which is an insult in Arab culture, as the bottom of the shoe is considered unclean.
They can also be seen raising their arm in the air in what appears to be a Nazi salute.

After a threat was called in to a high school in Baltimore County, police said they determined it was not credible.
While officers were investigating, they said three schools in the Essex area were placed on "lockout" status.
A lockout is used during a community emergency outside the school building, according to police, who say it is a less serious measure than a lockdown. All doors are locked from the inside, and nobody is allowed to leave or enter the building without permission. Those going in must provide identification to staff, posted at the front door. Outdoor activities are suspended during a lockout, while activities inside proceed as usual.
By 11:20 a.m., police reported the threat was deemed not credible.

Covid czar Salman Zarka said on Wednesday that Israel needs to consider introducing a national vaccine mandate, one that would mirror legislation in several European countries.

A bus driver who requested that youths in an Arab town wear masks while riding the bus was attacked with tear gas.
The incident occurred in the Negev town of Lakiya, when the driver requested that the youths wear masks. In response, the youths sprayed tear gas on the driver and escaped the scene. Police officers arriving at the scene began searching for the attackers.
The Metropoline bus company, which runs the line in question, said, "The company strongly condemns all expressions of violence against drivers and employees. Metropoline will help its drivers and work to protect their safety and the safety of passengers using public transportation."

Ukraine urged NATO to prepare economic sanctions on Russia to deter a possible invasion
Russia accused Ukraine on Wednesday of deploying half of its 250,000 troops to a conflict zone, Donbass, where government forces battled Russia-backed separatists since 2014.
The Ukrainian army made improvements since 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea and Ukrainian tanks used the wrong engines and poorly-trained soldiers wore German uniforms.
Military spending is now 4 percent of GDP, double what it was in 2014. America also helped out, giving $2.5 billion worth of equipment to the country, including radios, radars, and new uniforms, according to The Economist.
Ukraine also bought TB-2 Bayraktar combat-capable drones from Turkey and America sent the country Javelin missiles.

Iran began enrichment processes to produce uranium at a purity of 20 percent at the country's Fordow facility, the United Nation’s atomic watchdog announced on Wednesday.
News of the development, delivered by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), came amid this week’s international talks to potentially curb the country’s nuclear program in Vienna.
The Fordow facility, which is buried inside a mountain, holds advanced 166 IR-6 centrifuges for the enrichment of uranium, according to an IAEA report published last month.
