A federal judge in Missouri on Monday temporarily blocked the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for health care workers in 10 states.
U.S. District Judge Matthew Schelp granted a preliminary injunction barring the administration from enforcing the mandate while litigation continues in the case filed by a coalition of 10 state attorneys general.
Judge Schelp, a Trump-appointee, ruled that the administration did not have the authority to issue the mandate requiring health care workers employed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to be vaccinated by Jan. 4.

Police are investigating antisemitic fliers that were left at homes in Beverly Hills on Sunday, hours before Chanukkah began.
The Beverly Hills Police Department revealed in a statement Sunday afternoon that it is investigating a “hate incident” that occurred overnight after a resident reported finding a flyer with hate speech in their front yard.
The flyer, which was in a plastic bag with rice “for weight,” featured “propaganda style hate speech related to the COVID pandemic and the Jewish people,” according to police. It was a single 8.5 inch-by-11 inch piece of paper.
The flyers, which were discovered at a number of homes in the northeast of the city, were canvassed and collected by police and Public Works personnel, according to police.

Recently, Hendel has taken steps to limit cellular providers' abilities to put limits on "kosher" phones, an option which is supervised by the Rabbinical Committee for Communications. Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said Monday that three doses of the Pfizer company's coronavirus vaccine would remain effective even against the Omicron variant of the coronavirus, and added that a new vaccine specifically made to combat the new strain could be ready in 100 days.

Twitter CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey will resign soon in order to become a fashion designer or massage therapist, CNBC reported Monday.
According to the report, sources close to Dorsey say he is expected to submit his resignation "in the near term."
Shares of Twitter rose 11% following the report.

Israel Antiquities Authority excavations being carried out on a massive scale in Yavne have uncovered the first evidence there of a building from the time of the Sanhedrin—the supreme legislative Jewish assembly that went into exile in Yavne after the fall of Jerusalem, some 2,000 years ago. The building contained fragments of chalk stone vessels, clear evidence of a Jewish presence. Banking executive fills position left vacant since the departure of David Friedman
After nearly a year without a US ambassador in Israel, newly confirmed envoy Thomas Nides arrived to the Jewish state on Monday morning to take up the post left vacant after the departure of David Friedman.

Israel’s new restrictions in light of the Omicrom Variant have gone into effect today.
As previously reported by Chaim V’Chessed, foreign tourists are now, once again, banned from entering the State of Israel. These rules will remain in effect for at least 14 days. As Chaim V’Chessed clarified yesterday, student visa holders who are fully vaccinated or recovered will continue to be granted entry into the country. Additionally, their children under age 12 continue to have the option to apply for an entry permit, despite not being vaccinated or recovered; see here.
