Pope Francis cautioned nations against returning refugees to dangerous countries like Libya on Sunday, citing the hazards and risks returnees often face upon reentering insecure states.
“We have to put an end to the return of migrants to countries that are not secure,” the religious leader proclaimed, referring to the “thousands of migrants, refugees and others who need protection in Libya” during his blessing on Sunday.
The pope detailed the abuse suffered by migrants in Libya, and compared it to conditions at concentration camps.
“How much those who are sent back suffer! There are real lagers there,” he said, using a German word people in Italy often employ when talking about the camps.

The fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to wind down: The Ministry of Health announced on Sunday night that 284 COVID-19 carriers are hospitalized in serious condition, the lowest number since August 6.
According to the data about 78.2% of those hospitalized in serious condition are not vaccinated. Among the seriously ill patients under the age of 60, 88% were not vaccinated at all.
The number of patients on ventilators also decreased slightly and stands at 148.
One patient died of COVID-19 on Sunday. This person was vaccinated with two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, but did not receive the third dose (the booster shot). This brings the number of deaths in Israel since the start of the pandemic to 8,049.

A senior Shabak agent has been dispatched to Washington D.C. in order to present the U.S. administration with what is being called irrefutable proof that the six organizations recently linked to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) are indeed terrorist organizations, Walla reports.

There’s joy in the Olam HaTorah, as Rav Boruch Mordechai Ezrachi, a member of the Moeztes Gedolei Hatorah of Degel Hatorah and rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Ateres Yisroel, was released from the hospital after being anesthetized and respirated this past week following a serious infection.
As reported here on Matzav.com, after the Rosh Yeshiva weakened this past week, his condition deteriorated and he had breathing difficulties. He was rushed to the hospital on Monday afternoon with an infection and respiratory distress, and he had to be put on a respirator in the intensive care unit at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Yerushalayim.

Arizona’s attorney general on Friday filed a request for a temporary restraining order to stop the Biden administration implementing a controversial vaccine requirement as a lawsuit filed last month moves forward.

President Joe Biden’s plummet in the polls is the worst of any president since World War II, according to the Gallup polling organization.
Biden dropped from a 56% approval rating at the beginning of the year to 44.7% in the third quarter of 2021, the organization said.
The drop was in line with those of his Democratic predecessors Barack Obama, who dropped 10 points, Bill Clinton, who dropped almost 7 points, and Jimmy Carter, who dropped almost 9 points during similar periods in their respective administrations.

Ramat Gan - At 11:00 p.m. on Saturday night, a man in his 40s was sitting in a chair at home on Hasneh Street in Ramat Gan when he lost his balance and fell backward striking his head on the floor. The man was bleeding from his head and lost consciousness. His frightened partner immediately called emergency services for help.

Israel’s deputy foreign minister said on Sunday that the Biden administration may shelve its plan to reopen a US diplomatic mission for Palestinians in Jerusalem after Israel voiced opposition to such a move.

'The agreement allows free movement between Israel and the Emirates, without isolation or bureaucracy'
Israel and the United Arab Emirates signed a mutual recognition agreement for their coronavirus vaccination certificate and health pass, Israel's Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz announced Sunday.
"I was happy to sign this morning with the Health Minister of the United Arab Emirates, an agreement for a green passage between the two countries," Horowitz said on his Twitter account.

Program to address global warming would involve 14 different government ministries
A massive climate action plan was to be submitted for Israeli government approval on Sunday morning that would involve 14 different ministries taking 100 steps to address environmental pollution caused by global warming, Ynet reports.

At the direction of Housing and Construction Minister Ze'ev Elkin, the Israel Land Authority has issued a tender to market about 1,000 housing units in Judea and Samaria.
