A view of Federal Election Commission records indicates New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez paid thousands to a former Blackwater contractor for security. According to the New York Post, Ocasio-Cortez, who has been a vocal proponent of defunding the police, had her campaign pay at least $4,636 for “security services” to Tullis Worldwide Protection. Since she arrived in Congress, Ocasio-Cortez has insisted that shifting resources out of police departments and into communities is the best way to help those struggling. “[Suburban] communities have lower crime rates not because they have more police but because they have more resources to support healthy society in a way that reduces crime,” Ocasio-Cortez said in a 2020 social media post. After New York...
Mayoral candidate Eric Adams — who says he’s running against the far-left socialist “movement” led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in New York — will actually face off against a socialist foe in the general election. Queens public-school teacher Cathy Rojas, a daughter of Colombian immigrants, has now officially qualified to run for mayor under the far-left “Party for Socialism and Liberation” banner. Rojas gathered more than 3,750 valid signatures through independent petitioning to run in Nov. 2’s general election, said a Board of Election rep. As The Post previously exclusively reported, Adams — the city’s all-but-certain next mayor — told donors at a Queens fundraiser last week, “I&rsquo...

Cori Bush (D-Mo.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.). AIPAC celebrated the bill’s passage, pointing out that the Israel aid was passed without conditi...
Governor Phil Murphy today announced that all workers in certain state and private health care facilities and high-risk congregate settings will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or be subject to COVID-19 testing at minimum one to two times per week. This requirement will help increase protection against the spread of COVID-19, including the highly transmissible Delta variant, to vulnerable populations who have been hardest hit during the pandemic. “While reaching our statewide vaccination goal has so far dampened the impact of the Delta variant in New Jersey, some of our most vulnerable populations remain at risk of serious illness or death from COVID-19 primarily due to exposure to unvaccinated individuals,” said Governor Murphy. “We are taking this s...

The National Council of Young Israel (NCYI) today condemned an antisemitic incident that occurred at the Young Israel of Bnei Brak in Israel over the weekend. Congregants arriving at the synagogue on Saturday morning found swastikas spray-painted on the walls and doors. In addition, photos of Shira Banki, who was murdered at a pride parade six years ago, were found strewn on the ground near the entrance to the Young Israel synagogue, whose congregants include many Holocaust survivors and their relatives.  “Defacing a synagogue with swastikas is a despicable act of depravity and an abhorrent act of antisemitism,” said NCYI president Rabbi David Warshaw. “Using Nazi imagery to vandalize a Jewish house of worship, particularly one that is home to individuals who surviv...

The letter posted on Instagram by Rutgers' Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and Rutgers Mutual Aid (RMA) came in response to New Jersey rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) who had called in late June for university President Jonathan Holloway to condemn a statement made by the part-time lecturer chapter of the Rutgers faculty union accusing Israel of being a “regime of legalized racial discrimination perpetrated against the Palestinian people” that it targeted with “military actions” that have “killed and maimed civilian populations.” The letter said, “We, the undersigned, categorical...

The meeting forced by the opposition regarding 'failures of the government' has seen accusations directed from both coalition and opposition, each accusing the other of various shortcomings. The debate comes on the background of the recent budget announced by the government, which includes, among other things, a number of new taxes and a 30 billion ILS investment in the Arab population. Prime Minister Bennett accused the opposition of hypocrisy, saying that "No one here can preach ethics to me - not about heritage, Judaism, or nationalism. We did in 36 hours what you didn't do in 36 months - pass a budget. You should learn from Rabin's "We are all Jews". Being right-wing isn't about hating the left, it is about loving Israel." Opposition leader Netanyahu used his...
Opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at the Besheva conference in Jerusalem and hinted that sources in the Biden administration could leak information about actions Israel is planning against Iran. Netanyahu referred to Foreign Minister Yair Lapid's statement according to which he and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken agreed on a policy of “no surprises” regarding Iran. Netanyahu said: “In his first week in office, the alternate prime minister, Yair Lapid, goes and declares a policy of ‘no surprises’ vis-à-vis Iran. Do you know how many [American] administrations demanded this kind of policy? But I never once agreed to.” Then the former Prime Minister explained: "The information provided to America will be leaked to the media and ...
15th anniversary memorial services for soldiers and civilians killed in the Second Lebanon War have been held in recent days. Today the last of these will take place. It will honor the memory of  legendary Lietutenant Colonel Emmanuel Moreno, who was killed at the close of the war. Moreno, a lead officer in Sayeret Matkal, Israel's most elite special forces unit, participated in 165 undercover missions, some of them so delicate that publication of his picture is forbidden until today. But we are allowed to publish his thoughts and here are several of them that his widow Maya Ohana-Moreno previously sent me with her own explanatory comments:"Whatever does not take you forward will automatically take you backward."These words guided Emmanuel in everything he did - whether in the mi...
There has been a serious and systemic failure to tackle antisemitism across the five biggest social media platforms, resulting in a “safe space for racists”, according to a new report. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok failed to act on 84% of posts spreading anti-Jewish hatred and propaganda reported via the platforms’ official complaints system. Researchers from the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), a UK/US non-profit organisation, flagged hundreds of antisemitic posts over a six-week period earlier this year. The posts, including Nazi, neo-Nazi and white supremacist content, received up to 7.3 million impressions. Although each of the 714 posts clearly violated the platforms’ policies, fewer than one in six ...

Square Inc. has agreed to an all-stock deal valued at around $29 billion to acquire Australia’s Afterpay Ltd., an installment-payment company that positions its service as a cheaper and more responsible alternative to a credit card. Square said it plans to integrate Afterpay into its Seller and Cash App business units, which would allow more retailers to offer so-called buy now, pay later services at checkout. Afterpay’s technology allows users to pay for goods in four interest-free installments, while receiving the goods immediately. Customers pay a fee only if they miss an automated payment, a transgression that also locks their account until the balance is repaid. Afterpay says this limits bad debts, particularly in a downturn when job security is shaky and househ...

Dr. Anthony Fauci on Sunday warned that the country’s latest COVID-19 surge is “going to get worse” — but insisted he doesn’t expect the climbing case numbers to trigger any new lockdown orders. The White House chief medical adviser acknowledged that the US has yet to turn the corner in the recent outbreak driven by the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant. “Things are going to get worse,” Fauci told ABC co-anchor Jonathan Karl on “This Week.” But Fauci said he still doesn’t expect the nation to shut down again. “I don’t think we’re gonna see lockdowns. I think we have enough of the percentage of people in the country — not enough to crush the outbreak — but I believe enough to ...
Israel’s Health Ministry is quietly drawing up plans for yet another nation-wide lockdown, a senior ministry official said, as the number of new cases of the coronavirus in Israel continuing to rise. A report by Yediot Aharanot Monday morning cited a top Health Ministry official who warned that unless the outbreaks of the Delta Variant are contained in the near future and the trends in infection rates reversed, a new lockdown is all but guaranteed. “It is obvious to everyone that if we don’t succeed in getting control of this thing, then we’re heading for a lockdown,” the official said. Health Ministry officials estimate that if the government does move to impose a new lockdown, the fourth since March 2020, it will be put into effect during the up...
