A natural gas explosion Friday afternoon in Baltimore County left several Baltimore Gas and Electric workers injured, one of them in serious condition.
Crews were working on a steel gas main shortly before 4 p.m. in the 8300 block of Stevenson Road in Pikesville when an explosion sent flames shooting as high as 60 feet into the air until the gas was turned off the fire was extinguished around 7 p.m.
Residents said when they saw the explosion, they went outside to find a worker fully engulfed in flames.

'If Hamas does not commit to complete calm, it is dooming the residents of the Strip to a life of suffering'
The UAE has reportedly threatened Hamas it will cease all infrastructure and economic investments in the Gaza Strip if it fails to come to a ceasefire agreement with Jerusalem in the near future.
“We are still ready and willing to promote civil projects in cooperation with the Palestinian Authority and under UN management [in Gaza], but our necessary condition is calm,” an unnamed UAE official told the Israeli financial daily Globes over the weekend.

'Mistake was a result of a misunderstanding of the operational situation on the ground - and not for any other reason,' IDF spokesman Hidai Zilberman clarifies.
IDF spokesman Brigadier-General Hidai Zilberman on Saturday night published a letter of apology he sent to Andrew Carey, President of the Foreign Press Association.
In the letter, Zilberman apologized for misleading foreign journalists regarding the IDF's operations in Gaza earlier this week.

Several states and numerous big-box stores have embraced new guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that say fully vaccinated Americans no longer need to wear masks indoors or out in most situations.
Friday afternoon, Walmart executives sent out a letter to Walmart and Sam's Club stores as well as supply chain facilities encouraging employees to get vaccinated. The letter noted that as of Friday, "vaccinated customers and members are welcome to shop without a mask," while unvaccinated shoppers are asked to keep wearing masks in stores.
Employees who are fully vaccinated will be permitted to work without masks starting May 18, the letter said, adding that some workers may have to continue to wear masks for health or sanitation reasons.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Saturday he is "dismayed" by civilian casualties in Gaza and "deeply disturbed" by Israel's strike on a building containing international media outlets, AFP reports.

Yesterday (Friday), IDF observation troops spotted a number of suspects digging into the ground and cutting the border fence.
IDF soldiers that were deployed in a number of places around Metula spotted the suspects approaching towards the border fence and cutting it. The soldiers operated to stop the suspects according to standard operating procedures, including by firing towards their legs, after which the suspects retreated back to Lebanon.
Initial investigations of the incident and searches in the area reveal that the suspects acted in an organized manner, left behind items suspected of being explosives, and acted in a way which indicates that they intended to infiltrate into Israeli territory and carry out an attack in the area of Metula.The thwarting of the attack occurred...

A short while ago, IDF fighter jets struck a multi-story building which contained military assets belonging to the intelligence offices of the Hamas terror organization.
The building contained civilian media offices, which the Hamas terror organization hides behind and uses as human shields. The Hamas terror organization deliberately places military targets at the heart of densely populated civilian areas in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas military commander agreed 'to remove curfew on Tel Aviv for two hours.'
IDF spokesman Brigadier-General Hidai Zilberman hinted Saturday evening in an interview with Ynet that a ceasefire may be a long way off.

Air raid sirens sound twice as rockets fall on central and southern Israel in two massive barrages - just after midnight.
Gaza terrorists fired a barrage of rockets at central Israel, Samaria, and Jewish communities near Gaza, just after midnight on Sunday morning.
Targets included Tel Aviv, Bnei Brak, Ramat Gan, Yehud, Rishon Lezion, Petah Tikva, Ashdod, Gan Yavne, Gedera, Bat Yam, Holon, Beit Dagan, Ness Ziona, Ramle, Lod, Yavne, Elkana, Etz Efraim, Alfei Menashe, Ma'aleh Shomron, Elad, Bnei Darom, Kfar Chabad, Ashkelon, Or Yehuda, and other cities.
Ten minutes later, another barrage of rockets was fired at the same areas. Just prior to 1:00a.m., additional rockets were fired at Netivot, Tkuma, Zimrat, and Shuva.
