Baltimore, MD - Apr. 15, 2021 - Baltimore County Detectives are actively investigating reports of a white van approaching young people in the Woodlawn area.
In one case, the driver of the van attempted to lure a 12-year-old into his vehicle.
The incident occurred in the 8600 block of Windsor Mill Rd on Sunday around 6 p.m. The child refused and ran home; the driver fled the scene.
On Tuesday, detectives received another report of a similar incident that occurred on Walden Circle, 21207.

Lebanese President Michel Aoun on Thursday called on Israel to refrain from all oil and gas exploration activity in a maritime area claimed by Beirut.
Aoun conveyed the demand during a meeting with a senior American official assisting in negotiations concerning the demarcation of a maritime border between Lebanon and Israel in the Mediterranean.

The man "tormenting" the Coral Gables Jewish community with a month of anti-Semitic vandalism incidents has been arrested by local police.
A man accused of multiple incidents of anti-Semitic vandalism has been arrested by Coral Gables police.
According to Florida news outlet, Local10, Benjamin Michael Garcia began spreading anti-Semitic graffiti in the Florida city in March.
Officer Kelly Denham, spokesperson for the Coral Gables police department, in an interview with Local10 said that police did now want the graffiti in their community.
“Can you imagine people of the Jewish faith driving by that?” Denham said.

Health Ministry drops requirement to wear face masks in public in outdoor areas, effective Sunday.
Israelis will no longer be required to wear face masks in public in outdoor areas, beginning Sunday.
Israeli Health Ministry Yuli Edelstein (Likud) instructed the Health Ministry Director-General Hezy Levy to issue an order ending the health regulation requiring the wearing of face masks outdoors.
However, masks will still be required in indoor settings such as stores and restaurants.
“Masks are intended to protect us from the coronavirus pandemic,” said Edelstein. “After health experts came to the conclusion that there is no more need for them outdoors, I have decided to permit the removal of masks based on their recommendation.” Read more at Arutz-7

Osher Deri had no reason to assume she was in any danger at a restaurant which was not supposed to have any dairy products.
The mother of Osher Deri, the young woman who died after suffering a severe allergic reaction to milk at a restaurant, accused the restaurant of killing her daughter, Ynet reported.
"They took my little girl. They killed my little girl. For 22 years I kept her from getting close to anything dairy. We had no milk at home, just so she wouldn't be at any risk," Galit Deri said Thursday.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi does not support the effort by congressional leaders in her party to expand the Supreme Court from nine to 13 justices — and will not bring such a bill to the floor for a vote, she said Thursday.
Pelosi made the revelation while during her weekly press conference, offering a stark, “No,” after being asked about the measure being introduced to expand the nation’s highest bench.
“I support the president’s commission to study a such a proposal,” she continued, going on to say that she and her members were focused on Biden’s infrastructure package and not the federal judiciary.
As for whether she would eventually support packing the court, Pelosi said the jury was still out on the matter.

The defense has rested in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who's charged with the murder of George Floyd last year.
Chauvin defense attorney Eric Nelson decided to rest his case after the former police officer decided to invoke his 5th Amendment right Thursday morning before jurors had been seated for the day.

Jerusalem, Israel - Apr. 15, 2021 - In Israel, the solemn and serious mood of Yom HaZikaron transitioned into celebrations for Yom Haatzmaut, from Tuesday night, April 13 to Thursday, April 15, 2021. With coronavirus limitations lessened this year, annual events were held, but with smaller audiences and crowds.
The Har Herzl Military Cemetery was not the annual crowded scene on Yom HaZikaron for the annual memorial siren at 11:00 am. However, other smaller cemeteries held community events that attracted groups to remember fallen soldiers. One such cemetery is located near the Knesset and Rose Garden, where the graves mostly from 1948-1950, had a flag, black ribbon, and flowers for Yom HaZikaron.

Anticipation is mounting as the class of 2021 Brood X cicada is almost about to emerge from the ground.
"They're just about ready to come up and get out of the ground," said Mike Raupp, an entomologist with the University of Maryland known as "The Bug Guy."
The cicadas are ready to emerge after 17 years growing underground.
"In another few weeks, she'll be ready to come up out of that ground, climb up the tree, shed her skin, get up into the safety of the treetop and just await her suiter," Raupp said.
Raupp took 11 News to his neighbor's back yard cicada patch to share more about the phenomenon.
