Former President Trump makes first public appearance since leaving office, addressing 2021 CPAC conference.
Former US President Donald Trump on Sunday addressed the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference, being held at the Hyatt Hotel in Orlando, Florida.
The event is the former president's first public appearance since he left office last month.

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — In a crude attempt to prevent the large gatherings of chasidim on Purim in Jerusalem which this year took place on Sunday, the Israeli government closed the roads leading up to Jerusalem and cancelled all forms of interurban public transport. The move led hundreds of families to abandon cars and private buses stuck in the heavy traffic outside Jerusalem and make their way on foot to the capital.
The decision to close the roads was taken by the government just before Shabbos, which was Purim for the rest of the country. Thus most people had not heard about the decision and when they tried to make their way to Jerusalem to participate in the festivities Sunday, they discovered that the roads were blocked by police. A new highway billboard in Albany is calling for New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D) impeachment amid a series of controversies surrounding the elected official.
Local gun store owner Brian Olesen told the New York Post that he paid for the electronic billboard that now lines Interstate 787 just north of the state capital “to demand that he [Cuomo] be held accountable for the mass deaths at the nursing homes.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday announced new travel measures for those coming to the United States from countries that have been hit with an Ebola outbreak.
Starting next week, passengers traveling from Guinea and the Democratic Republic of the Congo will be redirected to six U.S. airports so the CDC can track and follow up with them.

Iran rejected a European Union offer to arrange direct nuclear talks with the U.S., senior diplomats say, risking fresh tension between Tehran and Western capitals.
Two senior Western diplomats said Iran has ruled out attending a meeting in Europe for now, saying it wanted a guarantee first that the U.S. would lift some sanctions after the meeting.
The U.S. had said it would attend the talks, which the EU had hoped to host in the coming days. However, Washington had refused to provide sanctions relief before face-to-face negotiations with Iran had taken place.

Former President Donald Trump took the straw poll by a wide margin at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Sunday, with 55% of those in attendance picking him as the prospective Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nominee, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis coming in several points behind him, at 21%.
Overall, Trump’s approval rating was 97% in the conservative crowd, but 68% of those voting in the straw poll said he should seek the White House again, reports Fox News. Another 95% said they want the party to advance Trump’s policies and America first agenda.

Jerusalem, Israel - Feb. 28, 2021 - With Shushan Purim on Shabbat this year, Sunday, February 28, 2021, was when Mishloah Manot and the Purim Seudah were held by those in Jerusalem, Israel. Even with strict coronavirus restrictions, the Jerusalem Municipality sponsored dozens of colorful street entertainers to perform for the thousands who were able to get into the center of town during the day. Most of the people on the streets in the crowd were dressed in Purim costumes, though in Jerusalem it is often hard to tell.
Travel into Jerusalem, was extremely limited. Group buses were not allowed to come from outside the city. A Purim night curfew extended until Sunday midnight. Smaller groups than usual and family units celebrated Purim in a limited capacity.

Jerusalem, Israel - An Israeli citizen acted as a Hamas agent in Israel and worked for the terrorist organization’s military wing in Gaza, the Shin Bet and Israel Police revealed on Friday.
The citizen, who was arrested on Feb. 3, is 43-year-old Muhammad Abu Adra, whose father is a Bedouin and whose mother hails from Gaza. Abu Adra is married to a Gaza resident and divides his time between Rafah and the central Israeli city of Rehovot, frequently using the Erez Border Crossing.
A Shin Bet investigation revealed that Hamas recruited Abu Adra while he was in Gaza around a year and a half ago. From that time, he remained in covert operational contact with Hamas members, collecting and providing them with information on the location of Iron Dome batteries.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday ordered a California county to let houses of worship hold indoor services, adding to a line of orders that have curbed the power of government officials as they battle the spread of the coronavirus.

An avowed white supremacist was sentenced on Friday to 19-1/2 years in prison after pleading guilty months ago to a federal hate-crimes case stemming from a botched plot to bomb a historic Colorado synagogue in 2019.

Republicans in both houses of Congress introduced a resolution on Wednesday opposing any move by U.S. President Biden and his administration to lift sanctions against Iran.
Led by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and supported by more than 40 lawmakers, the resolution “rejects and opposes the reapplication of sanctions relief for Iran” and expresses disapproval of giving Iran access to the U.S. financial system, reported Bloomberg News.
In a statement, congressional members supporting the resolution said “the U.S. must maintain sanctions on the Iranian regime until it abandons its nuclear ambitions and ends its support for violence and terror around the region.”
