Question #1: Trick As a side parnasah, I perform tricks using ropes and knots. May I conduct a show during Chol Hamoed? Question #2: Treat May an indigent person work on Chol Hamoed in order to provide his children with treats for Yom Tov? Question #3: Treasures I discovered buried treasure on Chol Hamoed, and I’m afraid that if I wait until after Yom Tov someone else might find it. May I dig it up on Chol Hamoed? Introduction: Chol Hamoed is included among a very special category of mitzvos called osos – signs that that point out Klal Yisroel’s special relationship with Hashem. These signs include both positive and negative commandments. The positive ones include that Chol Hamoed should be noticeably different from ordinary weekdays; it should look like days in w...
JERUSALEM (VINnews) — In many cities in Israel there are drive-thru coronavirus checking centers where people can stay in their cars until they reach the checkpoint where they are tested and have less chance of being infected by other people waiting to be tested themselves. However for some reason authorities decided that most of the Chareidi community in Israel does not have cars and therefore no drive-thru points were set up for them. Instead, they go to the local HMO clinic where they are tested. The Torah in Devarim 14:2 teaches us that a person must give one tenth of his crops for tzedaka. Chazal learn from the additional word of "kol" that a person must give maaser of all of his earnings.  The following question arises. May I use my maaser money to buy things for the purpose of a mitzvah? The Maharil is quoted by the Rema 249 as saying it is forbidden to use maaser money to buy neiros in shul. The Gra and the Be’er Hagolah qualify this issur as something the person has a chiyuv to buy. (In those days everyone had to buy neiros for shul.) However, one may use maaser money for any mitzvah tha...

Baltimore, MD - Sept. 29, 2020 - Founded in 2012 and nestled in the urban landscape of vibrant Tel Aviv, Milk & Honey is Israel’s first whisky distillery. While M&H was built upon the bedrock of Scottish whisky-making tradition (they employed the late Dr. Jim Swan, one of the world’s most accomplished master distillers, as their advisor), the unique Mediterranean climate surrounding the distillery has required a unique approach to tried-and-true methods, made successful by the ingenuity of Milk & Honey’s passionate team. Milk & Honey whiskies are double-distilled and aged a minimum of 3 years, though the hot and humid environment accelerates aging, creating spirits that taste distinctly older than expected from their time in barrel.
