A man shot and wounded by a uniformed Secret Service officer, prompting President Donald Trump to be abruptly escorted out of a briefing room during a televised news conference, had been threatening to kill people near the White House, two officials familiar with the matter said Tuesday. The man, Myron Basil Berryman, 51, of Forestville, Md., was arrested on a charge of assaulting a law enforcement officer, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. A federal appeals court on Tuesday appeared unsympathetic to arguments that it should order a district court judge to dismiss criminal charges against former national security adviser Michael Flynn. The full D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals reheard oral arguments about how the Flynn case should proceed at the lower court after the Department of Justice (DOJ) suddenly moved to withdraw its case against the former adviser to President Trump. Most of the judges appeared concerned with an earlier decision from a divided three-judge circuit panel that would have forced the district court to approve the DOJ’s motion without holding a hearing. The administration of President Donald Trump is considering a measure to block U.S. citizens and permanent residents from returning home if they are suspected of being infected with the new coronavirus, a senior U.S. official confirmed to Reuters. BALTIMORE — A man and woman are dead and seven people are seriously injured after three houses exploded Monday morning in northwest Baltimore, fire officials said. Baltimore City fire officials said Tuesday that crews combing the rubble at 1 a.m. found a man's body. One woman was pronounced dead at the scene Monday morning. "Just before one o'clock, they did locate the body of an adult male that brings our total fatality to two," Baltimore fire spokeswoman Blair Adams said. New York City Councilman Paul Vallone says COVID-19 almost killed him in March but the controversial anti-viral drug hydroxychloroquine saved his life. “I couldn’t breathe, very weak, couldn’t get out of bed,” Vallone, a Democrat who represents northeast Queens, told the New York Post. “My doctor prescribed it.
