Citing recent job reports, President Donald Trump’s economic adviser Stephen Moore said the “v-shaped” economic recovery from the global coronavirus pandemic is “still on course.” “We have regained 9.2 million jobs in three months; we’ve regained about 40-45% of the jobs that were lost,” Moore told host John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770 AM-N.Y. “So, we still have a lot of work to do, John, but this was an indication that the V-shaped recovery from the pandemic that Larry Kudlow and others have been talking about is still on course.” Read more at NEWSMAX.
U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar arrived in Taiwan on Sunday in the highest-level visit by an American Cabinet official since the break in formal diplomatic relations between Washington and Taipei in 1979. Beijing has already protested Azar’s visit as a betrayal of U.S. commitments not to have official contact with the island. China claims Taiwan as its own territory, to be brought under its control by military force if necessary. Azar is due to meet with the island’s independence-leaning President Tsai Ing-wen along with health officials during a three-day visit aimed at highlighting cooperation in the fight against the coronavirus. The White House “looked into” carving President Donald Trump’s face onto Mount Rushmore, reports The New York Times. The inquiry came last year when a White House aide reached out to South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s office to ask what the process would be to add Trump’s image to the infamous sculpture that depicts Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. Trump first floated the idea when he and Noem had their first meeting in 2018, according to South Dakota’s Argus Leader. The president told her: “Do you know it’s my dream to have my face on Mount Rushmore?'” Noem thought he was joking: “I started laughing. He wasn’t laughing, so he was totally serious.” ...

Yesterday a massive explosion devastated Beirut, killing at least 100 and injuring thousands. Lebanese officials said the blast came from a 2750 ton stockpile of ammonium nitrate that was stored in the port. Hezbollah, the Iran backed terrorist organization that has taken over Lebanon, has a history of stockpiling the chemical in different European locations.
Hezbollah kept three metric tons of ammonium nitrate, the explosive thought to be behind the mega blast in Beirut this week, in a storehouse in London, until MI5 and the London Metropolitan Police found it in 2015. The Lebanese terrorist group also stored hundreds of kilograms of ammonium nitrate in southern Germany, which were uncovered earlier this year. The Iran-backed terrorists kept the explosive in ...

A more than 1,300-foot underground passageway stretching from Arizona to Mexico was recently discovered — with the feds calling it “the most sophisticated tunnel in US history.” The unfinished tunnel — which ran from San Luis, Arizona, to neighboring San Luis Rio Colorado in Mexico — had a ventilation system, water lines, electrical wiring, a rail system and extensive reinforcement, Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Thursday. “This appears to be the most sophisticated tunnel in U.S. history, and certainly the most sophisticated I’ve seen in my career,” said Carl E. Landrum, acting chief patrol agent with the Border Patrol’s Yuma Sector. Feds unearthed the tunnel after finding a sinkhole along the US-Mexico border in mid-J...

The Kipa Hebrew language news site reported that following Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid's proposal of a law that would prevent a prime minister facing criminal indictment to serve out his term in office, the Likud's Land of Israel Trustees Forum submitted a counter-proposal that would require elected officials to have a high school matriculation certificate or equivalent from a religious educational institution. The prime minister would be required to have completed a bachelor’s degree or have graduated an equivalent in rabbinical studies. The proposal comes on the heels of Lapid's proposed law, according to which, an individual facing criminal charges would not be able to serve as prime minister. Lapid, who dropped out of high school, never completed his ...
Joe Biden’s presidential campaign said Saturday he has not picked a running mate after Biden was asked during a bike ride, saying he had made his decision before joking about who the pick was. Fox News reporter Peter Doocy caught Biden on a bike trail in Delaware and asked if he had made a decision. Biden replied, “Yah, I have” and when Doocy followed, “You have? Who is it?” Biden replied: “You.” “Folks, this is clearly a joke,” campaign spokesperson TJ Ducklo tweeted after posts went viral with the exchange. Read more at NEWSMAX.
In Lebanon, new updates continue to roll in regarding the heavy damage caused by the explosion in the port of Beirut last week. According to local reports, the only remaining synagogue in the country, Maghen Abraham, was badly damaged and it is now doubtful whether it can be restored. The synagogue has been inactive for years, but Lebanese authorities have preserved it as a historic site. It's located in the Wadi Abu Jamil district in downtown Beirut, where the city's Jewish quarter used to stand, a few kilometers from the port of Beirut. Built in 1925, it is the oldest Jewish house of worship in the Lebanese capital, and was named after the son of Abraham Sassoon, Moise Abraham Sassoon of Calcutta. It was built on land donated by Raphael Levi Stambouli, and designed by th...
