Shimon Bardi, a Magen David Adom (MDA) volunteer from Bnei Brak, was exercising when he saw a crowd of people gathered around a car. He quickly realized that the cause of the commotion was that an infant had been locked in the car during the hot summer day.
Bardi broke the windshield and safely removed the baby from the car. The child was just one month old.
"This really saved his life," Bardi told Channel 12 News. "He would have passed out soon."

BALTIMORE, MD — The Baltimore-Washington area is under a tropical storm warning as Tropical Storm Isaias picks up steam in the Atlantic. Forecasters say extensive flood damage and limited wind damage are anticipated in Maryland, where much of the state was placed under a tropical storm warning Monday morning.
The warning means tropical storm-force winds are expected within 36 hours. Wind gusts may reach 70 mph in Annapolis and up to 60 mph in Baltimore, according to the National Weather Service, which is calling for about 40 mph sustained winds to blow through the region Tuesday morning through Tuesday afternoon.

A new poll released this weekend shows President Donald Trump, the incumbent GOP president, has taken a national and battleground states lead over his Democrat challenger presumptive nominee former Vice President Joe Biden.
The survey, from the Democracy Institute commissioned by the Sunday Express newspaper, shows Trump leading Biden 48 percent to 46 percent. What’s more, Trump has opened up a bigger lead according to this poll in the crucial battleground states, meaning the president by this pollster’s estimates currently is projected to win 309 electoral votes—more than he did in 2016.

Joe Lockhart, a former press secretary for President Bill Clinton, is publicly advising former Vice President Joe Biden not to debate President Donald Trump.
Lockhart published an op-ed last week at CNN warning Biden that he should not debate Trump because the latter is prone to statements that fail the fact-checking test.
However, Biden has been criticized in past debate performances for his misstatements and outright fabrications. Former Vice President Joe Biden leads President Trump by single digits in North Carolina and Georgia, according to a new poll.
A CBS News-YouGov survey of likely voters in North Carolina found Biden leading the president by 4 percentage points, 48 to 44, just outside the poll’s margin of error.
The former vice president also leads Trump by 1 percentage point in a survey of likely voters in Georgia, 46-45.
No Democrat has won Georgia in a presidential race since former President Clinton in 1992. Former President Obama won North Carolina narrowly in 2008, and the state is seen as a key battleground in 2020.

Antonov AN-225 is carrying US military Osh Kosh trucks to be fitted with Iron Dome missile defense systems.
An Antonov cargo plane carrying US military Oshkosh trucks is expected to land at Israel’s Ben-Gurion Airport Monday night, the Defense Ministry announced.These trucks will be fitted with Iron Dome systems purchased by the US Army before being leaving Israel.

Bochurim will need to fly on direct flights to Eretz Yisroel together with the 6 roommates they will be spending the first 2 weeks together with, on specific dates which we will share with them as soon as they get an entry permit.
Please note! You will need to bring your original birth certificate with you when crossing the border to Israel.

Retired Army Brig. Gen. Anthony Tata withdrew his name from consideration to be the undersecretary of defense for policy, the spokesperson said Sunday.

JERUSALEM (JNS) – Israeli fighter pilots will make history in September, when they are scheduled to conduct joint military exercises with their German counterparts over the Dachau concentration camp, where more than 30,000 Jews were murdered during the Holocaust, and the Olympic Village in Munich, where 11 Israeli athletes and their coaches were massacred in 1972 by Palestinian terrorists.

A Food and Drug Administration effort to address a shortage of protective masks has instead opened the floodgates to 3,500 Chinese manufacturers selling products of widely varying quality, potentially putting the public at risk and leaving some U.S. states with stockpiles of masks they no longer trust as protective gear, a Wall Street Journal analysis found.

Any airline that can't prove a loss of at least 70% in earnings will need to reimburse customers immediately. El Al will need to reimburse customers over one billion NIS.
El Al and a number of other airlines committed to reimburse customers whose flights were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic by October 1, according to Channel 13 news.

(CNN) Dr. Deborah Birx on Sunday said the US is in a new phase in its fight against the coronavirus pandemic, saying that the deadly virus is more widespread than when it first took hold in the US earlier this year.
"What we are seeing today is different from March and April. It is extraordinarily widespread. It's into the rural as equal urban areas," Birx, the White House coronavirus task force coordinator, told CNN's Dana Bash on "State of the Union."

A new Israel Hayom poll showed that 90% of Israelis are concerned about coronavirus – but a full 30% do not wear masks on a regular basis.
The poll, conducted by Maagar Mochot, also showed that 40% of Israelis changed their shopping habits, and 47% are optimistic regarding the possibility of a return to normal life within the next year.
When asked to grade various officials on their management of the coronavirus crisis, respondents gave Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu a 2.53 out of 5, while they gave Defense Minister Benny Gantz (Blue and White) a score of 2.31 out of 5. Cities across the US have registered massive increases in crime, including surges in violent crime, following the wave of riots which began in late May.
In New York City, the number of shootings soared following the outbreak of rioting in the spring and calls to defund local police.
According to statistics collected by the New York Police Department and published by The New York Post, there have been more shooting incidents recorded in the city this year between January and August 2nd than during all of 2019.
A total of 776 shooting incidents were reported last year, while 777 were recorded in 2020 as of August 2nd.
