Three suspected white supremacists arrested in Maryland and Delaware this week had discussed opening fire from different positions at Monday’s planned pro-gun rally in Richmond, Va., in the hopes of causing chaos, law-enforcement officials said.
Authorities also confirmed they arrested three other men in Georgia this week who are allegedly linked to the same violent, white-supremacist group, called “the Base,” as the men who were heading to Virginia. The Georgia men were arrested on Wednesday for plotting to murder a Georgia couple, the Floyd County, Ga., police department said Friday.

GREENBELT, Md. — A federal criminal complaint filed Tuesday charges three alleged members of the racially motivated violent extremist group "The Base" with firearms and alien-related charges, federal prosecutors announced Thursday.
The complaint charges Brian Mark Lemley Jr., 33, of Elkton, and Newark, Delaware, and William Garfield Bilbrough IV, 19, of Denton, with transporting and harboring aliens and conspiring to do so. Lemley is also charged with transporting a machine gun and disposing of a firearm and ammunition to an alien unlawfully present in the United States.

Mercy Health Services President and CEO Thomas R. Mullen will retire this year, the health system announced Thursday. Mullen will be succeeded by David N. Maine, the system’s executive vice president.
Mullen, 63, has been with Mercy for nearly 29 years, joining the system in 1991 as chief financial officer. In a release, the system credited him with its growth and fundraising successes.
Mullen was elevated to the role of CEO in 1999.
Mullen will officially retire in July and continue to serve Mercy as a senior adviser through December 2021.

Iran is now enriching more uranium that it was before agreeing to the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Thursday.
In a televised speech, the Iranian leader said, “We are enriching more uranium before the deal was reached. … Pressure has increased on Iran but we continue to progress,” according to Reuters.
Earlier this week, Britain, France and Germany—concerned by Iran’s gradual backing out of its commitments under the deal—triggered the JCPOA’s dispute resolution mechanism, a move that could potentially lead to the re-imposition of U.N. sanctions. Maybe you know the old Yiddish joke? Back in prewar Minsk, Shmerel and Berel are having a conversation. During a pause, Shmerel suddenly remembers a bit of bad news he has to relate.
“Did you hear about Yankel the barber in Pinsk?”
“No,” Berel replies questioningly.
“He’s not here anymore,” Shmerel says, using a Yiddish euphemism for someone recently deceased.
“Oy!” exclaims Berel, “You mean Yankel, with the huge round nose?”

WASHINGTON (AP) – Republican U.S. Sen. Martha McSally of Arizona lashed out Thursday at a CNN reporter who asked her about the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
McSally called CNN reporter Manu Raju a “liberal hack” as she entered a room on Capitol Hill and refused to answer the question.
“You’re a liberal hack. I’m not talking to you,” she said.
Raju had asked McSally whether the Senate should consider new evidence as part of its impeachment trial.
McSally doubled down a short time later, tweeting a cellphone video of the exchange apparently shot by one of her aides.

The IDF on Thursday held the opening ceremony of the "Lions of the South" Squadron (116th Squadron) at the Nevatim Air Force Base in southern Israel. The ceremony was led by the Commanding Officer of the IAF, Maj. Gen. Amikam Norkin.
The "Lions of the South" squadron is the second F-35i "Adir" fighter jet squadron, joining the "Golden Eagle" Squadron (140th Squadron) which was opened in 2016 and declared operational in December 2017.

Israeli alpine skier Noa Szollos, 17, won Israel its first medals in the Winter Youth Olympic Games when she competed in the competition earlier this month in Lausanne, Switzerland.

President Donald Trump’s impeachment defense team will include Ken Starr, whose investigation led to the impeachment of President Bill Clinton, and Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz.
The Trump team choices came to light as the president’s impeachment trial is set to begin in earnest next Tuesday in the Senate, where the Republican president is accused of abusing power by pressuring Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden last summer while withholding military aid to that nation.

A board game called “Secret Hitler” was removed from the shelves of three stores in Montreal on Sunday after B’nai Brith Canada received complaints from members of the local Jewish community.
“Anything that depicts anything regarding Hitler is a very sensitive issue, especially with growing anti-Semitism throughout Canada, the U.S. and around the world,” Harvey Levine, B’nai Brith’s regional director in Quebec, told the Montreal Gazette.

Hamas is calling for mass prayer rallies on Friday at the Al-Aqsa mosque on Har Habayis, the Ibrahimi Mosque in Meoras Hamachpela in Chevron and other mosques in Yehuda and Shomron and the Gaza Strip in protest against “Israeli Judaization schemes” at the two sites.

Investigators with multiple federal agencies are reportedly reviewing evidence of alleged crimes committed by far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) that center around her marital history.
The Blaze reported that toward the end of last year, “the Department of Justice had assigned an FBI Special Agent in Charge, or SAC, to review Rep. Ilhan Omar’s apparent, astonishing spree of felonies from 2009 to 2017.”
