WASHINGTON (AP) – Republican U.S. Sen. Martha McSally of Arizona lashed out Thursday at a CNN reporter who asked her about the impeachment of President Donald Trump. McSally called CNN reporter Manu Raju a “liberal hack” as she entered a room on Capitol Hill and refused to answer the question. “You’re a liberal hack. I’m not talking to you,” she said. Raju had asked McSally whether the Senate should consider new evidence as part of its impeachment trial. McSally doubled down a short time later, tweeting a cellphone video of the exchange apparently shot by one of her aides. In a statement, CNN said: “It is extremely unbecoming for a U.S. senator to sink to this level and treat a member of the press this way for simply doing his job.&rdquo...
MIAMI BEACH (VINnews) — A senior police officer who served for 38 years in Miami has been suspended from his position after allegedly demonstrating support on social media for anti-Muslim views expressed by his wife, a Hallandale Beach commissioner, according to a Miami Herald report. Pablo Lima, a corporal in Bay Harbor Islands and a former vice president of the Miami-Dade police union, had submitted an application Tuesday to become the town’s next police chief, but after Thursday’s revelation by the Miami Herald that Lima had added likes to his wife’s controversial posts on social media, he was placed on paid leave prior to an internal affairs investigation regarding his comments. “The content of the social media posts that were brought to our attention ar...
The excitement and anticipation leading up to the recent Siyum HaShas has been matched only by the enormous follow-up coverage that followed it.  There were many take-a-ways, including the great kiddush Hashem that took place.  From New Jersey to London, Los Angeles to South Florida, countless testimonials have come in describing the respectful, courteous behavior of the thousands of Jews who attended throughout the world.  Rosemary Yacono, a guest services representative at MetLife Stadium, posted online:
There have been only a handful of events at MetLife Stadium that have so totally moved me emotionally during my tenure since 2001; today definitely qualified. Despite the horrific hate crimes as of late, Jews defied fear and ...
The IDF on Thursday held the opening ceremony of the "Lions of the South" Squadron (116th Squadron) at the Nevatim Air Force Base in southern Israel. The ceremony was led by the Commanding Officer of the IAF, Maj. Gen. Amikam Norkin. The "Lions of the South" squadron is the second F-35i "Adir" fighter jet squadron, joining the "Golden Eagle" Squadron (140th Squadron) which was opened in 2016 and declared operational in December 2017. The 116th Squadron (formerly known as "Defenders of the South") was first established in 1956 at the "Tel-Nof" AFB and over the years operated the "Mustang", "Mystère", "Eagle" and "Skyhawk" aircrafts. In 1983, the squadron moved to the "Nevatim" AFB, while operating the "Skyhawk" aircraft and became the first squadron to operate from that base. In 20...

She also finished second in the Slalom in the National Junior Race held on Jan. 5, according to Israel21c. “I couldn’t be any prouder,” said the Hungarian-born athlete following her bronze medal win in a video posted on Facebook by the Winter Youth Olympic Games. “It’s an amazing feeling, and I can’t describe it. It’s really fantastic.” “It looked difficult at first glance, but when I was actually on the course, it didn’t seem as dif...
President Donald Trump’s impeachment defense team will include Ken Starr, whose investigation led to the impeachment of President Bill Clinton, and Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz. The Trump team choices came to light as the president’s impeachment trial is set to begin in earnest next Tuesday in the Senate, where the Republican president is accused of abusing power by pressuring Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden last summer while withholding military aid to that nation. In addition to Starr and Dershowitz, the lawyer Robert Ray is expected to be on Trump’s impeachment defense team. Ray had succeeded Starr has independent counsel in the Whitewater investigation of Clinton. Another lawyer on the team will be forme...
Gantz vows to reverse decision after it emerges that more and more bus lines are being canceled due to complaints to Transportation Ministry from observant Jewish public; official says move is implementation of government policy A decision by the Transportation Ministry to ax dozens of bus lines that operate before the end of Shabbat came under furious criticism Thursday by politicians from across the spectrum, as well as from campaigners for more public transport on weekends. It has emerged that more and more bus lines that for years operated on Shabbat with the agreement of local authorities are being canceled due to complaints to the Transportation Ministry from the religious public. A ministry official also said that several dozen lines that were operating close to Shabb...
A board game called “Secret Hitler” was removed from the shelves of three stores in Montreal on Sunday after B’nai Brith Canada received complaints from members of the local Jewish community. “Anything that depicts anything regarding Hitler is a very sensitive issue, especially with growing anti-Semitism throughout Canada, the U.S. and around the world,” Harvey Levine, B’nai Brith’s regional director in Quebec, told the Montreal Gazette. Three branches of the Tour de Jeux shopping chain pulled the game, which came out in 2017. It was apparently financed through a Kickstarter campaign launched in 2015. Set in pre-World War II Germany, the game divides players into two teams: the liberals and the fascists. The fascists work to take over the govern...
Hamas is calling for mass prayer rallies on Friday at the Al-Aqsa mosque on Har Habayis, the Ibrahimi Mosque in Meoras Hamachpela in Chevron and other mosques in Yehuda and Shomron and the Gaza Strip in protest against “Israeli Judaization schemes” at the two sites. Hamas accused Israel in its press release announcing the prayer rallies of “atrociously beating, arresting, and threatening” Muslims and conducting renovations along the southern wall of the Har Habayis, as well as distancing visitors from the eastern Gate of Mercy, where the Jordanian Waqf attempted to build an illegal mosque last year. Hamas also decried the phenomenon of Israeli Jews “trespassing” on the site. Approximately 30,000 Jewish “fanatics” stormed the Al-Aqsa mosque...
A special Weekly Shtikle mazal tov to my nephew, Chayim Yaakov Bulka of Yerushalayim on his Bar Mitzvah for which I have made the intercontinental trek. I do believe this marks the very first time that the shtikle is sent out from Eretz Yisrael. Mazal Tov to the extended Bulka and Young families including the proud great grandmother, Oma Jakobovits. After a lengthy discourse at the burning bush, HaShem instructs Moshe Rabbeinu to appear before the elders of B'nei Yisrael and proclaim in HaShem's name, pakod pakadti eschem, I have surely visited/remembered you. With this simple introduction, the elders would listen to Moshe and he would proceed to come before Paroah and begin the redemption process. However, Moshe contends that B'nei Yisrael will not believe him an...
Investigators with multiple federal agencies are reportedly reviewing evidence of alleged crimes committed by far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) that center around her marital history. The Blaze reported that toward the end of last year, “the Department of Justice had assigned an FBI Special Agent in Charge, or SAC, to review Rep. Ilhan Omar’s apparent, astonishing spree of felonies from 2009 to 2017.” The Blaze noted that the “FBI SAC stated that the wide range of criminal activity suggested by the evidence against Rep. Omar may lead the FBI to expand the review to other federal departments” and that in recent weeks, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Education inspector general have reportedly joined the investigation. ...
Video and photo evidence coming out of Iran shows multiple crowds refusing to walk on American and Israeli flags amid protests against the Islamic Republic’s clerical establishment, signaling a rejection of the Tehran regime’s hardliner narrative and eliciting praise from some Western observers. The Iranian government often depicts domestic unrest as a product of foreign meddling, particularly by the US and Israel, in an effort to undercut the legitimacy of local opposition. Those countries’ flags have been burnt or otherwise damaged at pro-regime rallies, and deliberately placed or painted on the ground in public spaces so they could be symbolically walked over. Yet in a widely-shared video published Sunday, a crowd at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran was...
Eleven U.S. service members were flown out of Iraq and treated for concussion symptoms after Iran's rocket attack targeting Iraqi military bases earlier this month, a spokesman for U.S. Central Command revealed Thursday night. President Trump and U.S. officials had said earlier that no Americans were killed or injured in the Jan. 8 attack. Several U.S. troops "were treated for concussion symptoms from the blast and are still being assessed. As a standard procedure, all personnel in the vicinity of a blast are screened for traumatic brain injury, and if deemed appropriate are transported to a higher level of care," Capt. Bill Urban, the Central Command spokesman, said Thursday. He said that although no U.S. service members were killed in the a...
Three new polls released Thursday after parties registered for the Knesset election Wednesday show neither side with a decisive advantage, despite the Blue and White party holding a consistent lead over the Likud. According to a poll conducted by Midgam on Thursday and released by Channel 12 Thursday night, if new elections were held today, the right-wing – religious bloc would hold a narrow edge over the left-wing – Arab bloc, with 57 seats to the Left’s 55, while Yisrael Beytenu, which has called for a unity government, would win eight seats. Blue and White would be the largest party in the Knesset once again, the poll shows, with 34 seats, compared to 32 for the Likud. Read more at Arutz Sheva.

Baltimore, MD —New campaign finance filings in the race for Baltimore mayor show a flood of high-dollar donations to two candidates in particular. The reports show two families in the Baltimore area are spending a lot of money on the race. One is related to the late H&S Bakery king John Paterakis and the other to the owners of Sinclair Broadcast Group. No one comes close to candidate Thiru Vignarajah's ability to draw big donations in his run for mayor. New campaign filings show that from August 2018 to January 2020, Vignarajah's campaign got 94 contributions from donors who paid $6,000, which is the maximum under Maryland law. That amounts to $564,000 that flowed into Vignarajah's campaign -- more than half the total amount he raised. Three big c...
Incumbent Bernard C. "Jack" Young and former Maryland Deputy Attorney General Thiru Vignrajah lead the pack in fundraising for Baltimore's mayoral race. Young has nearly $960,000 cash on hand, while Vignarajah has just over $840,000, according to campaign finance reports released Thursday. City Council President Brandon M. Scott has $429,000 cash on hand. State Sen. Mary Washington reported over $115,000 in her campaign account. Two candidates who don't currently hold elected office have far less in the bank. Former Mayor Sheila Dixon reported a balance of $88,759, while former police spokesman T.J. Smith has $22,161 available to his campaign. The primary election is on April 28. In heavily Democratic Baltimore, the winner of the primary is all but assured victory in the gen...

Mayoral candidate T.J. Smith went to the scene of Wednesday's fatal shooting outside Royal Farms Arena. What he saw, he told Yuripzy Morgan, was as disturbing as what he didn't see. "There's a person's blood on the side of the Royal Farms Arena, a place that is a destination for tens of thousands of people and artists from all over the world who come to perform there. There's blood on the side of that building from somebody getting shot at 12:30 in the afternoon in broad daylight," Smith said. "While I was there, no elected officials were on that scene and we're blocks from City Hall. I didn't even really see any sort of condemnation which is normal of this suffocating violence. Fifteen murders in 15 days... and there seems to be no collective ...
