NEW JERSEY (VINnews/Sandy Eller) – A 49 year old Ecuadorian grocery worker who died in the devastating attack on a kosher store in Jersey City is being remembered as an honorary member of the Jewish community and a hero today, paying the ultimate price while saving the life of a Chasidic resident.

Officials are warning about a number of fake GoFundMe pages claiming to benefit hero New Jersey Detective Joseph Seals, who was shot and killed in the line of duty on Tuesday.
Shameless scammers set up at least four fundraising pages, that combined, raised about $16,000, according to the New Jersey Police Benevolent Association.
“Warning – We have been alerted that there are numerous GoFundMe pages set up for Det. Joseph Seals most, if not all, are fake,” the organization tweeted Wednesday morning.
A Chessed Fund page was opened by Jewish activists to raise money for Seals family to show appreciation for the cop who died in the line of duty.

House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler late on Thursday night abruptly paused his committee’s debate on articles of impeachment before final votes until Friday morning, prompting howls of protest from Republicans after a marathon session that had stretched more than 14 hours.
As the debate appeared to be winding down toward a final vote on the impeachment articles, Nadler announced that the committee would instead hold a final vote on the two articles Friday morning, and banged his gavel down. The hearing will resume at 10 a.m. EST Friday, allowing Democrats to hold a historic vote in the daytime instead of close to midnight.

The deadly attack at a kosher supermarket here that left six people, including the two suspects, dead this week is being investigated as domestic terrorism, officials announced Thursday.
“We believe the suspects held views that reflected hatred of the Jewish people, as well as the hatred of law enforcement,” New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said at a news conference.
Officials said surveillance video indicated the market had been deliberately marked, raising the specter that the shooting was another in a growing national pattern of anti-Semitic attacks.

Jeremy Corbyn announced his resignation as leader of the Labour party early Friday morning following the party's crushing defeat in the general election.
Exit polls published on Thursday night predicted a solid majority for Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Conservative party with 368 seats in parliament. Corbyn’s Labour was projected to win just 191 seats, its worst showing since the 1930s.
Corbyn said it was a “very disappointing night for the Labour Party,” and said he would not lead Labour into the next election, but would not step down immediately.
He blamed Brexit for the result, and said the policies he put forward were the right ones and were popular.

The 2019-2020 flu season follows two straight unusually bad flu seasons. Unfortunately, two key indicators show this year could be more of the same.

Israeli Consul in New York Danny Dayan spoke to Arutz Sheva about his visit to Jersey City following the deadly shooting at a local kosher supermarket.
Dayan described the scene of the attack. "It was a difficult visit and two things were etched in my memory and will remain there forever. One is the grocery store with bullets in every corner."

JERSEY CITY, NJ (AP ) – The deadly shooting rampage at a New Jersey kosher market has cast a spotlight on a fringe movement known for its anti-Semitic strain of street preaching and its role in a viral-video confrontation at the Lincoln Memorial this year.

Polls have closed in the U.K.’s general election and a key BBC exit poll suggests Prime Minister Boris Johnson is on track for the parliamentary majority he has desperately sought to “get Brexit done.”
Why it matters: If the results hold, Johnson will have far exceeded expectations and should be able to easily pass his Brexit deal. It would be the biggest Conservative majority since Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s 1987 victory, and a disaster for the opposition Labour Party and its leader, Jeremy Corbyn.

The leader of one of Israel’s smaller right-wing parties has been making it clear in sub rosa talks that after the next election, there will be no more right-wing “bloc.”
According to the party leader, “It [the bloc] was the right move at the time. It was something that was important to do in order to prevent the rise of a left-wing government. But next time, it won’t happen.”

LONDON—An early exit polll suggests British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to win a large majority in Thursday’s general election, an outcome that would mark a stunning victory for the Brexit cheerleader and pave the way for the U.K. Parliament to trigger a long-awaited split with the European Union.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center released its annual list of the top 10 global anti-Semitic incidents, along with anti-Semitic people, and the No. 1 spot was given to the Jeremy Corbyn-led British Labour Party.
“No one has done more to mainstream anti-Semitism into the political and social life of a democracy than the Jeremy Corbyn-led Labour Party,” said the Simon Wiesenthal Center. “Members and staff who have dared to speak out against the hate were purged, but not those who declared ‘Heil Hitler.’”
The list is normally published in late December or early January, but was released early this year, perhaps due to upcoming elections on Dec. 12, according to The Times of Israel.

Iran has foiled a major cyber attack on its infrastructure that was launched by a foreign government, the Iranian telecoms minister said on Wednesday, two months after reports of a US cyber operation against the country.

On Sunday evening at the Avenue Event Hall in Airport City, United Hatzalah held their second annual Israel gala dinner, which followed shortly upon the heels of the 1st annual gala dinner held in Miami, Florida, which took place last Tuesday. The organization raised close to $3,500,000 at each event bringing the total between the two to $7,000,000.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh met with Jordanian parliamentarians and political activists and spoke with them about Hamas’ position regarding Jordan.
The Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper reported that Haniyeh stressed that the Palestinian Arabs stand alongside Jordan against the idea of establishing an alternative Palestinian homeland in Jordan, against the settlement of “refugees” in Jordan and against any Israeli idea of resolving the conflict outside the borders of “Palestine”.
