NEW YORK (VINnews) – New York Attorney General Letitia James today filed a lawsuit against B&H Foto & Electronics Corp. (B&H) for violations of New York’s Tax Law, the New York False Claims Act, and New York’s Executive Law. The suit claims that B&H — the nation’s largest non-chain photo and video equipment retailer — knowingly failed to pay sales tax due on tens of millions of dollars it received from electronics manufacturers to reimburse the company for “instant rebate” manufacturer discounts B&H passed along to its customers.

A female student was dead and several other people were injured Thursday when a 15-year-old suspect — who's now in custody — opened fire at Saugus High School in California, officials said.
"Suspect is in custody and being treated at a local hospital," Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva tweeted.
The shooter had been described as a "male Asian suspect" wearing black clothing who was last seen walking away from the scene, the sheriff's office said. He was believed to be a student at the school, KNBC reported.

Simchah and Leah Goldin, whose son, Hadar, held in Gaza since the 2014 Gaza War, responded this morning (Thursday) to the reports of a ceasefire with Islamic Jihad.
"Specifically now we should all remember that Hadar was kidnapped into a tunnel in Rafiah during a ceasefire," the couple wrote on Twitter.

Former Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick revealed to US broadcaster CBS News on Thursday that he intends to enter the 2020 race for the White House, bloating an already crowded Democratic field.
The announcement comes as former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg also considers throwing his hat in the ring, highlighting the unsettled nature of the Democratic contest.

BORO PARK (VINnews) — The NYPD has announced an arrest in the case of the multiple egg throwing attacks that plagued the Boro Park community as of late.
Police said that 18 year old Mohid Hoque who lives on Ave C in Brooklyn was charged with Hate Crime Assault (3 Counts), Hate Crime Aggravated Harassment (3 Counts),Hate Crime Harassment 1st (3 Counts), Hate Crime/Reckless Endangerment 2nd

GAZA CITY (AP) – Gaza militants fired a barrage of rockets into Israel on Thursday, hours after a cease-fire was declared to end two days of intense fighting between Israel and the Islamic Jihad group, the heaviest escalation in months that killed at least 34 Palestinians, including three women and eight children, and paralyzed parts of Israel.

A ceasefire between Israel and Gaza-based terrorist groups that went into effect early Thursday morning was immediately put to the test as five rockets from Gaza sent Israelis scrambling for shelter in the south.

Israel and Islamic Jihad have reached a ceasefire agreement, according to an Egyptian source. The source told Israel's Kan news that the ceasefire took effect at 5:30 a.m.
