The excitement was tangible. It was written on the hundreds of faces - young and old, Chassidishe, Litvish, and secular-looking, alike - of those who came to the triple celebration held at Congregation Arugas Habosem (fondly known as “Rabbi Taub’s shul”).
The fulfillment of a dream that was long in the making, a triple milestone, was finally celebrated on Sunday, September 15: a Chanukas Habayis, the consecration of the new shul building; a Chanukas HaMikveh, the consecration of its new Mikveh; and, a Hachnosos Sefer Torah in memory of Rebbetzin Taub’s parents, the Honiader Rav, R’Avrohom Meir ben R’Yehuda Israel, and Rebbetzin Chava bas R’Meir Halevi Israel, z”l.

BALTIMORE (WMAR) — Baltimore City's Police training academy will soon be moving over to the University of Baltimore campus.
On Friday, Governor Larry Hogan announced the University System of Maryland will provide up to $2.4 million in funding to assist in the move.
“Our administration worked very closely with USM to secure this critical funding for the new Police Academy at the University of Baltimore. This will help put more officers on the street to bolster our urgent efforts to reduce violent crime in the city" said Hogan.
The space expected to be used by the academy is currently unoccupied.
Since 2008, the academy has been based out of the old Pimlico Middle School at 3500 W. Northern Parkway, where the fire department also has its academy.

Flu seasons are notoriously unpredictable, but there are already clues that the upcoming season may be especially difficult.
Flu season in the Southern Hemisphere can be an indication of what's to come in the Northern Hemisphere, and the recent flu season in Australia, where winter has just ended, arrived early and with a vengeance. A particularly virulent flu strain, H3N2, dominated.
What's more, a pediatric flu death has already been reported in the U.S. — a 4 year-old in California who had underlying health problems.

The Central Election Committee published the first results based on counted votes. At 6.07 a.m., 1,912,015 votes had been counted – or 29.90% of the casted ballots.According to the results, Likud received 27.78% of the votes, followed by Blue and White with 25.94%, Shas with 8.72%, Yisrael Beytenu with 7.68%, UTJ with 8.68% Yamina with 6.75%, Labor with 5.02%, the Democratic Union with 4,43%, the Joint Union with 1,89% and Otzma Yehudit with 2.26%.

General Mills announced today a voluntary national recall of five-pound bags of its Gold Medal Unbleached All Purpose Flour with a better if used by date of September 6, 2020. The recall is being issued for the potential presence of E. coli O26 which was discovered during sampling of the five-pound bag product. This recall is being issued out of an abundance of care as General Mills has not received any direct consumer reports of confirmed illnesses related to this product.
This recall only affects this one date code of Gold Medal Unbleached All Purpose Flour five-pound bags. All other types of Gold Medal Flour are not affected by this recall.

Cokie Roberts, the veteran journalist, political commentator and author, died Tuesday morning, ABC News announced, citing her family. She was 75.
"We will miss Cokie beyond measure, both for her contributions and for her love and kindness," her family said in a statement.
Roberts died from complications of breast cancer, according to her family.
Roberts worked in television for over 40 years and was a frequent contributor to “This Week” with David Brinkley. She also served as ABC’s chief congressional analyst, anchored “This Week” alongside Sam Donaldson from 1996-2002 and started her career with high-profile jobs at NPR and CBS News.

A virus research center in Russia — one of two places in the world that houses the smallpox virus — exploded on Monday, officials said.
The blast at the State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology, or "Vector," left one employee injured and the building, located in Koltsovo, near the Siberian city of Novosibirsk, survived without structural damage, according to a statement from the facility.
The suspected gas explosion happened on the fifth floor of the 6-floor concrete building during scheduled repairs, Russian-owned news agency TASS reported.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's efforts to carry on his dynasty with a historic victory in Tuesday's Israeli election and to be tasked with forming a government for the sixth time remained up in the air late Tuesday, after exit polls predicted a stalemate.The final unofficial results were only expected on Wednesday afternoon, but according to an exit poll on Channel 13, whose pollster Camil Fuchs had the most accurate exit poll in the April election, Netanyahu’s Likud party won 31 seats, and his Center-Right bloc a total of 54 seats.
