Are you aware of the connection between the El Paso shooter and Palestinian terrorists?
No, the shooter wasn’t a Palestinian and had no known affiliation with the Palestinian cause. He was apparently an anti-immigrant white nationalist, as indicated in the manifesto he seems to have posted on a shady website shortly before he set out to kill innocent Hispanic people, accomplishing that goal in 22 cases, and failing in 24 others, where the victims were merely wounded.
The Palestinian “connection,” such as it is, is indirect, and involves Jake Tapper, the well-known broadcast journalist and frequent critic of President Trump.

In this week's parsha, Eretz Yisrael is praised as (8:8) "A land of wheat and barley and grapes and figs and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey." These species are given a special status when it comes to making berachos. Shulchan Aruch (OC 211:4), based on the gemara (Berachos 41,) rules that if you have in front of you two foods that are both of the aforementioned seven species, the berachah should be made on the one that comes earliest in the pasuk. EpiPens, which can help stop a severe or life-threatening allergic reaction, have been hard to get since at least May 2018, when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the device was in short supply. North Korea’s top diplomat said on Friday that U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was a “diehard toxin” who only complicates denuclearisation talks and North Korea was ready for both dialogue and standoff.
North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho, who took part in the Hanoi summit along with Pompeo, called the chief U.S. negotiator the “diehard toxin of the U.S. diplomacy” who employs “hackneyed sanctions rhetoric”.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad praised Friday the terror attack near Dolev settlement that killed 17-year-old Rina Shnreb, but refrained from claiming responsibility for it.
In Friday’s main sermon in the Gaza Strip, Hamas leader Ismail Haniya said “this is a heroic attack which we don’t know who stands behind it and who planned it, but it, among others, prove that Jerusalem will explode,” reported Hebrew-language YNET News outlet.
In a statement issued earlier by Hamas, it was stated that the attack took place “on the 50th anniversary to the burning of the al-Aqsa mosque and clarifies that our people did not and will not abandon the al-Aqsa mosque even for one day, whoever the victims might be.”

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has undergone radiation treatment for a malignant tumor found on her pancreas, the Supreme Court disclosed Friday. It is her second treatment within a year for the disease.
The court said the treatment began earlier this month, and has been completed.
“The tumor was treated definitively and there is no evidence of disease elsewhere in the body,” the court’s spokeswoman said in a statement. “Justice Ginsburg will continue to have periodic blood tests and scans. No further treatment is needed at this time.”

Rabbi Eitan Shnerb, 46, who was moderately injured in an attack that killed his duaghter Rina hy”d and critically inured his son Dvir, received a phone call from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who told him “myself and the people of Israel mourn with you,” Hebrew-language YNET News outlet reported.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), including Israel Police and Shin Bet, launched a full-scale manhunt on Friday in attempt to catch the culprits who set off a bomb that murdered Rina Shnerb and injured her father and brother.
In an official statement released by the IDF, Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. The Israeli military issued a stern warning to Hamas on Thursday, saying it must enforce its control over other terrorist groups like Islamic Jihad as tensions continue to simmer on the Gaza Strip border, while Israel’s foreign minister said the IDF was prepared for a major operation in Gaza.

The pasuk starts off in the parsha, “V’hayah eikev tishma’un eis hamishpatim ha’eileh”. It will be when you listen to the laws of the Torah, then Hashem will give you good things. We regret to inform you of the passing of our long-time member, Dorothy Beryl Lieberwitz, of Baltimore, MD, passed away on August 22, 2019 at the age of 93. She is survived by her children, Ellen (late David) Glickman, Joel (Joanne Taormina) Seasonwein and Maurie (Gerard) Gonzalez, grandchildren, Elaine (Tzvi) Chesler, Diane (Ari) Weintraub, Moshe (Shira) Glickman, Hannah (David) Archer, Ari Mack, Angela Gonzalez, Heather (Michael) Arazi, and Jeremy Gonzalez, and many great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lieberwitz was predeceased by her husband, David Lieberwitz, her brother, Marvin (Lillian) Leff, and her parents, Sidney and Eva Leavay.

Magen David Adom (MDA) personnel were forced to declare the death of Rina Shnerb, the 17-year-old young woman injured Friday in a terror attack near the Binyamin-region town of Dolev.
Three people were injured in the attack, which occurred at the Ein Bubin spring near Dolev when a terrorist threw an explosive device at Israeli hikers.
She will be buried Friday afternoon in the new cemetery in her hometown of Lod.
Her father was moderately injured in the attack, while her 20-year-old brother suffered serious injuries.
