The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has denied reports that its naval forces attempted to seize a British oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, despite U.S. claims that one of its surveillance aircraft captured footage of the incident.
British warship HMS Montrose reportedly chased the small Iranian craft away from the British Heritage tanker. The vessel trained its guns on the assailants, but the Iranian crews heeded verbal warnings and backed off before warning shots were fired.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a U.S. official said the Iranian action “was harassment and an attempt to interfere with the passage,” according to Reuters.
But the IRGC naval forces public relations department released a statement disputing the reports. The service claimed i...
When Christine Blasey Ford came forward to accuse then-U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of decades-old assault, little was known about her; in fact, she had no social media footprint at all — an extreme oddity for modern times.
Fox News contributor Mollie Hemingway and her co-author, Carrie Severino of the Judicial Crisis Network, suggest in “Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Supreme Court” that this social media history scrubbing had been done to cover up Blasey Ford’s far-left politics and her expressed “antipathy” toward President Donald Trump, who tapped Kavanaugh for the position on the highest court.
As reported by the Washington Examiner, the book outlines how Blasey Ford was portrayed by the media as &...
Speaker Nancy Pelosi and progressive darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have had a very public fight over the nature of the Democratic Party. AOC recently chided Pelosi for saying she believed AOC and her “squad” – Reps. Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley – were irrelevant because they voted against the House’s border funding bill.
The revelation came about this past weekend in an interview Pelosi did with the New York Times, where she said the so-called Squad “have their public whatever and their Twitter world,” but “they’re four people and that’s how many votes they got.”
Pelosi doubled down on her comments when she was asked if she was concerned about dividing the Democratic Party.
“I have no regrets abo...
Congressional Republicans are expressing confidence that the 2020 elections will be secure, despite strong protests from Democrats that more needs to be done.
House and Senate members received separate classified briefings from senior administration officials on Wednesday, during which the plans for securing the 2020 elections were outlined in the wake of Russia’s extensive interference ahead of the 2016 vote.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a close ally of President Trump who has previously supported additional election security legislation, said that he was “very impressed” by the administration’s efforts ahead of 2020.
“They all said the president is giving them every authority they’ve asked for. No interference from the White House,” Graham sa...
According to Israeli NGO Palestinian Media Watch, on July 7 the Palestinian Authority doubled the monthly salary it pays to Husam al-Qawasmi, the terrorist that planned the 2014 kidnapping and murder of Eyal Yifrach, 19, Gilad Shaer, 16, and Naftali Fraenkel, 16.
Qawasmi was arrested on July 11, 2014, and subsequently convicted. Having now served five years in prison, his P.A. salary is being doubled, according to PMW, from NIS 2,000 per month ($560) to NIS 4,000 per month ($1128).
Since 2014 the P.A. has paid over NIS 350,000 ($98,000) to Qawasmi and to the families of the other two terrorists involved in the kidnapping and murders, who were killed while resisting arrest.
The rise in Qawasmi’s salary is a function of the 2004 P.A. Law of Prisoners and Released Prisoners, in which...
A court convicts an Arab Israeli man for stabbing to death a rabbi in a terror attack last year in the West Bank.

A billionaire who heavily contributes to the Democratic Party says he “profoundly” dislikes “communist” Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Israeli-American billionaire Haim Saban told the Hollywood Reporter that Sanders is unique among the pack of 23 candidates seeking the Democratic presidential nomination because of his far-left agenda.
“We love all 23 candidates,” Haim told the Reporter. “No, minus one. I profoundly dislike Bernie Sanders, and you can write it. I don’t give a hoot. He’s a communist under the cover of being a socialist. He thinks that every billionaire is a crook. He calls us ‘the billionaire class.’ And he attacks us indiscriminately. ‘It’s the billionaire class, the bad guys.’&n...
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that Israel is preparing for the possibility of launching a broad “surprise” campaign along its southern border with the Gaza Strip, claiming to hold no illusions that a political agreement can be reached with the enclave’s ruling Hamas.
“I want there be calm — not that we are under the illusion that we can reach a political agreement with Hamas who wants to wipe Israel off the face of the earth,” Netanyahu said during a meeting in the southern Israeli city of Askhelon on Thursday, an area heavily targeted by Gaza militants in previous escalations.
“But we are preparing for a campaign that is not only broad, but also surprising.”
“I am not going to hesitate to do what is necessary,&rdqu...

America’s TIME magazine for the fourth time featured Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on its cover, with the quote: “‘Only the strong survive.’ How Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu is testing the limits of power.”
In its article, the magazine notes that Netanyahu is facing indictment, but still believes that the good of the country is to leave him in charge.
“I don’t look at my survival,” he told TIME. “I look at the survival of the country, its durability, its future.”

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump abandoned his controversial bid to demand citizenship details from all respondents in next year’s census Thursday, instead directing federal agencies to try to compile the information using existing databases.
“It is essential that we have a clear breakdown of the number of citizens and non-citizens that make up the United States population,” Trump said at a Rose Garden announcement. He insisted he was “not backing down.”
His reversal comes after the Supreme Court blocked his efforts to include the citizenship question and as the government had already begun the lengthy and expensive process of printing the census questionnaire without it.
Trump had said last week that he was “very seriously” consid...
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is expected to drop his bid to include a citizenship question on the 2020 census, according to a House Republicans aide. Trump instead will pursue other avenues for collecting citizenship information after the Supreme Court blocked his census efforts, according to current and former administration officials familiar with the plans.
Trump tweeted Thursday morning that he would be holding a news conference on the subject. A senior administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity to preview the plans, said the president would be announcing new executive action as part of the effort but did not elaborate. Officials were still scrambling to finalize language in the hours after Trump’s tweet.

Washington - President Donald Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about Iran on Wednesday, the White House said, the same day the U.S. president threatened to “substantially” increase sanctions on Tehran to curb its nuclear activities.
Iran recently started enriching uranium beyond a limit established in a 2015 nuclear agreement with world powers, a deal from which Trump withdrew. Trump has since intensified economic sanctions on Tehran, and tensions have escalated.
“The two leaders discussed cooperation between the United States and Israel in advancing shared national security interests, including efforts to prevent Iran’s malign actions in the region,” White House spokesman Judd Deere said on Thursday. Read more at Reuters
Washington - The abrupt resignation of Britain’s ambassador to the United States over leaked cables critical of the Trump administration may have jolted official Washington, but it’s unlikely to have a lasting impact on the U.S.-British relationship or diplomatic practice.
Current and former diplomats say the leak of Ambassador Kim Darroch’s sensitive reports is unfortunate and alarming, particularly given the apparent political motive behind it. Yet, they believe any complications will be temporary even as they create short-term turbulence in relations.
“It’s a problem, but I don’t know that it has a chilling effect over time because in the end people have jobs to do and they do their jobs,” said Ronald Neumann, a retired three-time U.S. ambassa...
Jerusalem - Jerusalem’s Police and Municipality workers on Wednesday operated in the Arab neighborhood of Isawiyeh to remove a monument erected on Tuesday night in honor of Arab terrorist Mohammed Abid.
The monument was removed at the request of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after coordination with Jerusalem’s Mayor Moshe Leon and security and enforcement officials.
The terrorist Muhammad Abid, who was affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and had spent four years in prison after throwing Molotov cocktails, was killed last month after launching fireworks at close range at a police unit that was operating against criminals in Isawiyeh. The police said that the officers felt that their lives were in danger and shot Abid. Read more at VINne...
