Now that special counsel Robert Mueller has completed his investigation, it is tempting to breathe a sigh of relief and assume that our long national nightmare is over. Resist the temptation, the assumption is false. We are not close to the end. Not by a long shot. In fact, I believe the last two years, as traumatic as they were, will prove to be the easier part of the nightmare, because Mueller dealt only with whether Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign conspired with Russia to swing the election. Based on what we know so far, especially that no more indictments are coming, it appears that Mueller’s answer is no, there was no collusion or obstruction of justice. If true, this is an enormous vindication for Trump, who insisted all along that he had done nothing wrong...
Baltimore, MD - Mar. 24, 2019 - In the 2nd aliyah of Parshas Shemini, Moshe and Aharon bless Bnei Yisroel that the presence of Hashem should come down into their midst. Aharon blesses the people as well, and he raises his hands for this bracha. This is similar to the raising of Moshe's hands during the war with Amalek, in order to turn our hearts toward Hashem. We recognize that our efforts are not what accomplish; rather, it is Hashem's doing that makes our work come to fruition. Click here to listen

Washington - Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham says “the cloud hanging over President Trump has been removed” by special counsel Robert Mueller’s report. Graham, a close ally of Trump, also says it is “a bad day for those hoping the Mueller investigation would take President Trump down.” A summary of Mueller’s findings released Sunday says Mueller did not find that the Trump campaign or its associates “conspired or coordinated” with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 election. It also says that Mueller did not exonerate President Donald Trump of obstruction of justice or find that he committed a crime. Top House Judiciary Republican Doug Collins said “there is no constitutional crisis.” House Majority ...
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department said Sunday that special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation did not find evidence that President Donald Trump’s campaign “conspired or coordinated” with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election. Mueller also investigated whether Trump obstructed justice but did not come to a definitive answer, Attorney General William Barr said in a letter to Congress summarizing Mueller’s report. The special counsel “does not exonerate” Trump of obstructing justice, Barr said, and his report “sets out evidence on both sides of the question.” After consulting with other Justice Department officials, Barr said he and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein determined the evidence “is no...

Hamas official Rafiq Abu Hani said in a speech that aired on March 17 on Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas/Gaza) that the goal of the Palestinians is jihad for the sake of Allah. He then drew a handgun and brandished it, saying: “We all agree that our weapons, in which lie our honor and strength, will be put down only in the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.” Addressing Mohammed Deif, the Al-Qassam Brigades, and the “heroes of the resistance” in the West Bank and Gaza, he said: “Take our livelihoods from us and buy more [guns]! Take our salaries and buy more [guns]!” Following are excerpts: Rafiq Abu Hani: Our goal is jihad for the sake of Allah! What is your goal? Crowd: Jihad! Rafiq Abu Hani: What is your goal? Linda Sarsour will be the keynote speaker on March 31 in Hillsborough, North Carolina at an event sponsored by Orange County’s Department of Human Rights & Relations and The Orange County Human Relations Commission (HRC) of NC “in honor of women’s history month.” The event will be a part of the “Courageous Conversations” series. Orange County Commissioner Earl McKee told me, “The Human Relations Commission extended the invitation and she [Sarsour] will be paid $5000 plus expenses.” McKee continued, “I only know that I had no part of any of this and am sure that many other well-qualified women could have been asked to speak. Perhaps a question to the Chair at the meeting on April 2nd would be appropriate although I doubt y...
Avatars of political correctness in search of dissenters In the political realm, power is roughly divided between Democrats and Republicans in the United States. But the cultural realm — mainstream media, the entertainment industry, and higher education — tilts dramatically left. And the latter is likely to be far more determinative of the environment in which Orthodox parents raise their children, as Stephen Prothero documents in Why Liberals Win the Culture Wars (Even When They Lose Elections). That pattern applies even as the left grows ever more unmoored from reality and hoisted on the petard of its own internal contradictions. As Exhibit One, I offer the confirmation hearings of Neomi Rao to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, the most powerful Court of Appeals in the na...
As the Muslim community in Christchurch, New Zealand, grapples with the mass terror shooting in two mosques that claimed 50 lives and left dozens more injured on Friday, they received comfort from the Chabad representative to the country. Rabbi Mendy Goldstein, co-director of Chabad of New Zealand, flew down from the North Island on Sunday to comfort and console grieving families and the community. “People were exceedingly grateful to see a rabbi fly in, as well as the Jewish community’s support from all over New Zealand and around the world,” Goldstein told Chabad.org. “In moments like these, we are reminded how united we are. Despite our differences, humanity is one family, and this is what was felt. “The scourge of terror knows no boundari...
Stavanger, Norway - Rescue helicopters took more than 475 passengers from a cruise ship that got stranded off Norway’s western coast in bad weather before the vessel departed for a nearby port under escort and with nearly 900 people still on board, the ship’s owner said Sunday. The Viking Sky carried 1,373 passengers and crew members when it had engine trouble in an unpredictable area of the Norwegian coast known for rough, frigid waters. The crew issued a mayday call Saturday afternoon. Five helicopters flying in the pitch dark took passengers from the tossing ship in a painstaking process that continued throughout the night. The rescues took place under difficult conditions that included wind gusts up to 38 knots (43 mph) and waves over 8 meters (26 feet) high. Photos post...
Washington - As the world anxiously awaits the findings of the Russia investigation, special counsel Robert Mueller flashed a smile Sunday after going to church with his wife in Washington. Mueller and his wife, Ann, were at the morning service at St. John’s Episcopal Church near the White House. The couple filed out in a line of parishioners after the services. Mueller was smiling outside the church before he walked directly past the White House and headed to his car. Mueller officially concluded his investigation on Friday into possible coordination between Russia and Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. He has remained an elusive figure in Washington since his appointment in May 2017, never making a single public comment on an investigation that has shadowed the presiden...

A second survivor of the Parkland shooting has died by suicide, the Coral Springs Police Department in Florida confirmed to the Miami Herald on Sunday. Police told the newspaper that a current Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student died in “an apparent suicide” on Saturday night. The death of this student follows that of 19-year-old Sydney Aiello, a survivor of the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida, who died by suicide last weekend. Aiello was a young woman who a Marjory Stoneman Douglas teacher described as a joy to have in class. Aiello was close friends with Meadow Pollack, one of 17 people to be killed by a mass shooter last year. Aiello's mother said that her daughter felt survivor's guilt and was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder...
Ocean Township’s protracted battle to block a Yeshiva and dorm for 96 college-age students had nothing to do with concerns about nearby Lakewood’s expanding Orthodox Jewish community, the mayor said. “This wasn’t about religion,” said Mayor Christopher Siciliano, adding that Ocean itself has a large Jewish community and more synagogues than churches. “It was about preventing the overuse of a property in a residential neighborhood.” The fight over the 3-acre site on Logan Road in Ocean’s Wanamassa neighborhood came to what looks like a peaceful end on Thursday night, when the township council voted 5-0 to authorize Siciliano to close on a deal to buy the property for $2 million, thus keeping it out of the hands of the Lakewood-base...
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. officials are preparing an official document to codify recognition by the United States of Israeli sovereignty of the Golan Heights and President Donald Trump is likely to sign it next week, a senior administration official said on Friday. Trump announced on Thursday that it was time for the United States to recognize Israeli sovereignty of the Golan Heights that Israel seized from Syria in 1967. Trump is likely to sign the presidential document when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visits Washington on Monday, the official said. Trump’s announcement marked a dramatic shift in U.S. policy and gave a boost to Netanyahu, who is in a closely contested race in the April 9 election while also fighting allegations of corruption, which he denies. Th...
