President Juan Orlando Hernandez says during AIPAC conference that his country will 'immediately' open embassy in Israeli capital.
Honduras announced plans to move its diplomatic mission in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, opening a new embassy in the Israeli capital city.
President Juan Orlando Hernandez made the announcement Sunday, during the 2019 American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference in Washington DC.
Speaking at the opening meeting of the conference, Hernandez said his country would “immediately” open an “official diplomatic mission” in the Israeli capital city.

A White House official said US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser joined about 40 people for the reading Thursday in the White House.
Also present were Ivanka Trump, Kushner’s wife and also a senior adviser to her father, Jason Greenblatt, the chief negotiator on the Israeli-Palestinian Authority (PA) peace plan team that Kushner helms, and Elan Carr, the State Department envoy monitoring anti-Semitism.
“He was flawless in the reading, we were very impressed,” Rabbi Levi Shemtov, the executive vice president of American Friends of Lubavitch (Chabad), said of Kushner.

Addis Ababa - The warning and training requirements set for the now-grounded 737 Max 8 aircraft may not have been adequate, in light of the Ethiopian plane crash that killed 157 people, the chief of Ethiopian Airlines said Saturday.
After the Lion Air crash off Indonesia in October, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and Boeing “came up with contents that we incorporated in our working manuals and also briefed all our pilots. But today we believe that might not have been enough,” Tewolde Gebremariam told The Associated Press in an interview in Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.
Ethiopian Airlines insists the carrier’s pilots went through all the extra training required by Boeing and the FAA to fly the 737 Max 8 jet. The March 10 crash killed people from 35 countries.

Majdal Shams - Dozens of Druze Arabs, some carrying Syrian flags and pictures of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, gathered on the Golan Heights on Saturday to protest U.S. President Donald Trump’s support for Israeli sovereignty over the territory.
The mountainous plateau was part of Syria until Israel captured it in the 1967 Middle East war, annexing it in 1981 in a move not recognized internationally.
Israel regards the Golan as a strategic asset because its peaks overlook northern Israeli towns and southwest Syria, where battles from an eight-year civil war have raged in view.
Some 22,000 Druze, an Arab minority who practice an offshoot of Islam, live in the Israeli-occupied Golan, and many still have relatives on the Syrian side of the fortified boundary.

New York - Rockland County legislators have adopted a new law that bans most single-use plastic bags at retail outlets, restaurants and grocery stores.
In a bipartisan 14-3 vote, lawmakers backed a measure that was sponsored by County Legislators Laurie Santulli (R-Congers) and Nancy Low-Hogan (D-South Nyack). Passage followed a two-hour public hearing where speakers overwhelmingly supported the ban.
The resolution was sent to the County Executive on Wednesday. He has 21 days to approve it, veto it or take no action.

WASHINGTON DC. -- Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu landed in Washington, DC, early Sunday morning to begin a four-day visit in the middle of the election campaign.

More than 20,000 people have signed petitions calling for New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to win the Nobel Peace Prize for her response to a pair of mosque shootings that killed 50 people.
A change.org petition to the United Nations had gained more than 20,000 signatures as of Sunday morning. A French petition calling for the prime minister to win the prestigious annual award had nearly 3,000 signatures.
“If a Nobel Prize for Peace could be given to a spontaneous statement for wisdom and courage, rather to a person, New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern deserves it,” a message on the change.org petition reads.

A 12-year-old girl was killed and a pregnant woman was critically injured in a hit-and-run Friday night in Catonsville, Baltimore County police said.
Police said officers were called around 9:21 p.m. to North Rolling Road at Johnnycake Road, where a car struck both pedestrians as they crossed North Rolling Road. Police said the vehicle made no attempt to stop and continued south on North Rolling Road.
The 32-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was in stable condition Saturday morning, police said. The condition of her pregnancy was unknown.
The 12-year-old girl, Maria Popal, was taken to Sinai Hospital, where she died.

The Israeli military started to issue plans to ready itself for next week’s confrontation with Palestinian protesters, as the weekly March of Return protests mark a one-year anniversary.
According to reports in Israeli media, the number of troops stationed on the border could be doubled over the next week.
On the other side, Gazans were promising continuous escalation in the wake of Friday’s protests in which at least 2 Palestinians died, and 62 more were injured, according to Gaza’s health ministry.

GoFundMe is reportedly banning campaigns from its platform that raise money to spread anti-vaccination messages.
Bobby Whithorne, a spokesman for the crowdfunding platform, told the Daily Beast in a report published Friday that campaigns raising money “to promote misinformation about vaccines” violate GoFundMe’s terms of service, adding that such campaigns will be removed from the site.
“We are conducting a thorough review and will remove any campaigns currently on the platform,” Whithorne told the Daily Beast. Anti-vaccination groups have raised at least $170,000 on the site in the past four years.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu took off for Washington on Saturday night, where he will meet US President Donald Trump and speak at the AIPAC annual policy conference.
Before taking off, Netanyahu said, “I’m going to talk to President Trump about the historical recognition of the Golan Heights and about Iran. The cooperation is unprecedented. ”

York Regional Police is seeking public assistance to locate a 24-year-old man missing from the City of Vaughan.
Simi Abrams was last seen on Thursday, Purim day, March 21, at 12:30 p.m., when he left on foot from Mackenzie Health Hospital, located at 10 Trench St. in the Town of Richmond Hill. He has not been in touch with family since.
Police and his family are growing increasingly concerned for his well-being.
A ground search is underway and a command post has been set up at 888 Teston Rd. in the City of Vaughan.

The mainstream media seemed to suffer a collective shock Friday evening after the office of Special Counsel Robert Mueller handed its final report of its Russia investigation to the Department of Justice.

President Donald Trump’s move to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights turns the tables on decades of U.S. diplomacy and international law and threatens to further inflame regional tensions.

An IDF aircraft on Saturday night attacked two observation posts of the Hamas terrorist organization in southern Gaza.
The attack was carried out in response to multiple explosive devices that were hurled and exploded during Gaza riots near Israel’s border fence on Saturday evening. There were no injuries.
Earlier, the “Red Alert” siren was activated in the Eshkol Regional Council as a result of an explosive device that was hurled at the security fence as part of a riot that took place in Gaza.
The explosive device did not cross the security fence.

Helsinki - Rescue workers off Norway’s western coast rushed to evacuate 1,300 passengers and crew from a disabled cruise ship by helicopter on Saturday, winching them one-by-one to safety as heaving waves tossed the ship from side to side and high winds battered the operation.
The Viking Sky issued a mayday call as bad weather hit and engine problems caused it to start drifting toward the rocky shore, the Norwegian newspaper VG reported. Police in the western county of Moere og Romsdal said the crew, fearing the ship would run aground, managed to anchor in Hustadvika Bay, between the Norwegian cities of Alesund and Trondheim, so the evacuations could take place.

London - British Prime Minister Theresa May is facing a full-blown cabinet plot to remove her and 11 cabinet ministers have said they want her to resign, The Sunday Times’s political editor said.
“A full blown cabinet coup is under way tonight to remove Theresa May as prime minister,” Tim Shipman said.
Shipman quoted one unidentified cabinet minister as saying: “The end is nigh. She will be gone in 10 days.”
May’s de-facto deputy, David Lidington, is one contender to be interim prime minister but others are pushing for Environment Secretary Michael Gove or Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, Shipman said.
