DENVER (CBS4)– A bang to the head changed a Colorado man’s life by revealing a hidden talent. Doctors say concert performer Derek Amato is one of the few people in the world to have experienced the rare phenomena called Acquired Savant Syndrome.
He says the music is in his mind. He sees it in his head, and his fingers do the rest. Amato has a gift that came about in an unexpected way.
Twelve years ago he had an accident in the swimming pool.

Jerusalem - The Psagot Winery in Samaria has begun exporting and marketing Israeli wine to the city of Guangzhou in southern China, with a population of over 13 million people.
Due to the increase in the demand for quality products in China in recent years, and especially for foreign-made wines, and due to the huge size of the market, Psagot began to see China as a target market for its products.
Attempting to market their wines in China, the company turned to the “Smart Money” program at Israel’s Ministry of Economy and Industry which offers Israeli companies financial support for international marketing activities. It was truly a "miracle on ice" when a North Carolina doctor saved a fellow hockey player's life during a pickup game.
Jib Street, a native of Canada who has been playing hockey his whole life, dropped in the Pineville rink in January after he went into cardiac arrest. But, as luck would have it, a fellow player was a medical doctor.
“When I did see the video a couple of days ago, it is difficult to watch yourself go down and lie motionless on the ice. The gratitude comes from how fast this guy responded-- that’s the miracle," Street told FOX 46. "I’m skating with an emergency room doctor.”
Dr. Craig Bryant, whom Street calls his "guardian angel," and other teammates quickly jumped into action to save his life.

Google is reportedly taking another giant step in its mission to take over people's lives - by developing "smart" shoes that can warn the wearer if they are getting fat.
The search engine's health division Verily is said to be designing footwear embedded with sensors that can tell how much the user weighs and monitor their activity.
Parent company Alphabet has been showing off prototypes of the "lace-age" shoes as developers search for a partner to build and market them, according to CNBC.
As well as monitoring fitness levels, the shoes can also be programmed to detect falls - meaning they could appeal to older customers as they could send alerts to families or carers.

Washington - A powerful House chairman is warning members of his panel that anti-Semitism will not be tolerated after a freshman member sparked a bipartisan backlash to a tweet criticizing an American organization that supports Israel.
Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot Engel in a statement Monday did not directly mention Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar’s tweet, in which she said that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee is paying members of Congress to support the Jewish state. Jerusalem - The Jerusalem Rabbinical Court has issued a decision instructing the Egged bus company to fire one of its employees within 30 days because of his refusal to grant a divorce to his wife.
The couple in question, whose names cannot be disclosed, immigrated to Israel from India several years ago with their only child.
Even before they came to Israel, the husband had been violent towards his wife, and he continued his physical attacks on her – and their child – once they had immigrated as well, leading to police intervention on at least one occasion.
Three years ago, the woman filed for divorce but her husband wanted to reconcile so an agreement was reached to try this process, including a commitment by the husband to cease being violent towards his wife and child.

Pittsburgh - The suspect in the Pittsburgh synagogogue massacre pleaded not guilty Monday to a new indictment that added 19 additional counts, but his lawyer expressed hope the case will be resolved without a trial.
Robert Bowers, a truck driver who authorities say gunned down 11 people at Tree of Life Synagogue, appeared in federal court with his new lawyer, prominent death penalty litigator Judy Clarke, who signaled that Bowers might be open to some sort of plea. Clarke’s past clients have included one the Boston Marathon bombers, a 9/11 conspirator and Unabomber Ted Kaczynski.
Bowers, who was shackled, said little, giving yes or no answers.

(CNN) Rabbi Zale Newman thought no one would show up to Eddie Ford's funeral in Toronto, Canada.
The 85-year-old Holocaust survivor died January 29 after being diagnosed with three different forms of cancer. Newman said the elderly man was survived by only a nephew in Detroit.
On January 30, the night before the funeral, Newman put out a plea on Facebook asking for at least 10 people to attend Ford's funeral so that the ceremony would have a minyan, or quorum of 10 people to perform the service.
"We wouldn't want someone to leave the world alone, so we always have to have 10 together," Newman told CNN Sunday.

We are members of the Rabbinical Council of America (RCA), and some of us are former RCA officers and executive committee members. Although we do not speak on behalf of the RCA, we must raise our voices, because a small number of fellow RCA members are violating the well-established RCA resolution that bars members from ordaining, training or hiring female clergy. In the past, individual RCA members violated RCA policy by, for example, officiating at synagogues without mechitza partitions. Such violations, outliers and few though they may be, cannot be ignored, for they misrepresent Orthodox Judaism that the RCA upholds and they dilute the halachic standards of RCA membership.

Bethel, Alaska - A 16-year-old boy was arrested after he briefly took control of a small plane during a short commercial flight over western Alaska, authorities said.
The teen was in the front passenger seat of the Piper Cherokee Six on a recent Yute Commuter Service flight from Napakiak to Bethel, KYUK-AM reported last week.
The flight between the two remote communities usually takes about four minutes.
The teen grabbed the aircraft controls shortly after takeoff, causing the “plane to enter a steep climb and then a dive toward the ground,” Alaska State Troopers said.
A woman sitting behind the teen grabbed him around the neck, pulling him away from the controls, authorities said. The pilot stabilized the aircraft and returned to Napakiak.
