The New York Times is asking Fox News’ morning show “Fox & Friends” to apologize for what the newspaper calls a “malicious and inaccurate segment” about the newspaper, intelligence leaks and the Islamic State that aired Saturday. New York Times spokeswoman Danielle Rhoades Ha said Sunday that she requested an “on-air apology and tweet.” The paper, she wrote, took issue with a Fox host on the segment saying that Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi “was able to sneak away under the cover of darkness after a New York Times story” in 2015 and a host’s comment that the U.S. government “would have had al-Baghdadi based on the intelligence that we had except someone leaked information to the failing New York Times.&rdquo...

President Donald Trump expressed his frustration with Republicans on Sunday, saying they “do very little to protect their President.” In one of several tweets issued in the afternoon and evening, Trump said the lack of support happens even with “some that were carried over the line on my back.” Trump’s tweet wasn’t clear about why he was upset. It came as Republicans in the Senate struggled to come together on a bill to overhaul President Barack Obama’s health care law. On that topic, another tweet from the president was more specific: “If Republicans don’t Repeal and Replace the disastrous ObamaCare, the repercussions will be far greater than any of them understand!” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was making a last-ga...
It was a perfect Shabbos, with many guests, delicious food. The end of Shabbos was approaching and, together with my son and our guests, we make our way to the house of my friend Gadi Whitman for maariv. In my heart, I wish that Shabbos would not end… When maariv were over, we sit around the table together to recite “Vayiten lecha”. Only when we had finished, did Gadi’s son tell us the painful news: “There was a horrific terror attack last night in N’vei Tzuf and there are several fatalities.”. As a veteran Zaka volunteer, I fully understand the significance of the news and hurry home. The fragrance of Shabbos still lingers in my home, my children are playing happily. But I ask that we make Havdalah quickly, update my wife with the terrible news...
The Senate will move forward with a key vote this week on a Republican health bill but it’s not yet known whether the legislation will seek to replace President Barack Obama’s health care law or simply repeal it, the third-highest ranking Republican senator said Sunday. Sen. John Thune of South Dakota said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., will make a decision soon on which bill to bring up for a vote, depending on ongoing discussions with GOP senators. Thune sought to cast this week’s initial vote as important but mostly procedural, allowing senators to begin debate and propose amendments. But he acknowledged that senators should be able to know beforehand what bill they will be considering. “That’s a judgment that Senator McConnell will make a...

A Washington fixture with a sprawling network, Kislyak has emerged as a central figure in the investigations into Russian interference in the election and whether any Trump associates were involved. President Donald Trump has repeatedly dismissed the story as “fak...

MK Yisrael Eichler during the opening of a Knesset committee meeting on transportation, spoke about the worrisome issues surrounding the Kosel and Har Habayis. Today, the matter is far greater than traveling to the Kosel as there are many who would prefer not seeing Jews at the Kosel at all. Eichler expressed sorrow and solidarity with the mourners of the family murdered in cold blood in Chalamish (N’vei Tzuf) on Friday night. Eichler reflects back to the Pogroms of ‘Tarpat’, when the Hebron Jewish community came under attack and there too, there was an Islamic slaughter of innocent Jews, indiscriminate murder in 1929, which he explains began with the mufti accusing the Jews of threatening al-Aqsa Mosque, citing unfortunately, most Jews are unaware of this. The restriction applies to tobacco products and electronic smoking devices. Christie vetoed a similar measure last year. On Friday, he cited the strain on the health care system caused by tobacco-related illnesses. He also noted that his mother died from the effects of smoking and said raising the age gives young people more time to better understand smoking’s dangers.
