In the latest update from Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital on Tuesday, 29 Nissan, it is reported that after analyzing the test results, HaGaon HaRav Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita has been moved to an intensive care unit.
The Gadol Hador was brought to the hospital during the morning hours after not feeling well during the night and early morning hours. After conducting a number of diagnostic tests, the decision was made to place the rav in an intensive care unit. No additional information is being released at this time.
The tzibur is asked to be mispallel for Aharon Yehuda Leib ben Gittel Faiga bsoch kol cholei yisrael.

NEW YORK (JTA) — United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres vowed to take action to end anti-Semitism and called the denial of Israel’s right to exist a modern form of anti-Jewish hatred.
Speaking Sunday night at the World Jewish Congress’ Plenary Assembly in New York, Guterres said he could not control all expressions of bias against Israel at the United Nations. But he said Israel has the right to be treated like any other U.N. member state.
“A modern form of anti-Semitism is the denial of the right of the State of Israel to exist,” Guterres said. “As secretary-general of the United Nations, I can say that the State of Israel needs to be treated as any other state, with exactly the same rules.”

A veteran Palestinian terrorist who commanded an infamous 1987 attack in northern Israel was killed in Syria over the weekend in a military strike that was attributed by some Syrian media outlets to the IDF, the Hebrew news site nrg reported on Monday.
The death of Abd al-Rahim Ahmed Atik, nrg said, was confirmed by pamphlets published by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine — General Command (PFLP-GC), which was founded in the late 1960s by Ahmed Jibril.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres reassured Jewish community leaders Sunday that he would oppose any anti-Israel bias at the United Nations.
“As secretary-general of the United Nations, I consider that the state of Israel needs to be treated as any other state,” Guterres said at the World Jewish Congress offices in New York.

European governments are funding Palestinian civic organizations with clear ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist organization, a leading Israeli research organization said on Monday.
A new report from the Jerusalem-based NGO Monitor lists nearly a dozen organizations with PFLP affiliations that have nonetheless received funding from both the EU and European national governments. Investigators are scouring for clues about what sparked a fast-moving New York City house fire that killed five people, including two young boys and two teenage girls.

U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis arrived unannounced in Afghanistan on Monday to assess America’s longest war as the Trump administration weighs sending more troops.
Kabul was the final stop on a six-nation, weeklong tour Mattis said was intended to bolster relations with allies and partners and to get an update on the stalemated conflict in Afghanistan. He is the first member of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet to visit Afghanistan.

Unfortunately, if we set aside a day for every tragedy in Jewish history, the calendar would be full. But the scope, circumstances and impact of the Holocaust are so immense that a special day of remembrance was deemed appropriate. I never discussed the day itself with my parents—both survivors, both in Heaven now—but I suspect they would have agreed. My mother, z”tl, warned against getting comfortable with the memory.
As a child of survivors, and as a student of history, I have sought to understand as much as I can about what occurred during those tragic years. It’s not a morbid fascination; it’s a thirst for knowledge that might somehow be useful in dealing with today’s issues that endanger the Jewish people… and help prevent future tragedies. ...

Thousands of people from around the world, many of them young Israelis, have gathered at the former Nazi German death camp of Auschwitz to pay homage to the millions who perished in the Holocaust.
Many carried Israeli flags Monday as they joined the March of the Living, a somber memorial march of about three kilometers (two miles) from the original Auschwitz camp to Birkenau, a much larger death camp where Jews and Roma were murdered in gas chambers.
Many also carried little wooden plaques with messages to place along railway tracks that carried people to their deaths at the camp operated by Germany in occupied Poland during World War II.
The yearly march is also aimed at instilling a desire in Israeli youth to protect the Jewish state.

Two condemned Arkansas killers who admit they’re guilty but fear their poor health could lead to extreme pain during lethal injections set for Monday might become the first inmates put to death in a double execution in the U.S. in more than 16 years.
Jack Jones and Marcel Williams are set to die in what would be the second and third executions in Arkansas this month. The state set an aggressive plan to execute several inmates before one of its lethal injection drugs expires at the end of April.

Jerusalem Chief Sephardi Rabbi Shlomo Amar Shlita is calling on the tzibur to fast on erev Rosh Chodesh Iyar, this Tuesday, in response to last week’s High Court of Justice ruling permitting chilul Shabbos in Tel Aviv.
In his letter, Rav Amar writes that the ruling is most painful and troublesome, the court compromising the integrity of Shabbos and permitting the public trampling of the holy day.
Those deciding to fast should accept the fast day on mincha Monday afternoon, 28 Nissan, and one who cannot should consider a taanis tzibur.

A petition signed by over 2,000 IDF reservists was sent on motzei Shabbos to IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-General Gadi Eizenkott, calling on him to prevent the theft of military equipment from IDF bases and training grounds in the Negev.
According to the petition, the theft of military equipment in the Negev by members of the Bedouin community is a widespread phenomenon that occurs on a regular basis and endangers the well-being of IDF soldiers and the citizens of Israel.
