U.S. Vice President Mike Pence has thanked American service members based in American Samoa, citing “challenging times” for the military in the Asia-Pacific.
Completing a visit to the region and en route back to the United States, Pence addressed some 200 soldiers during a refueling stop in Pago Pago. He told the troops the Trump administration was seeking a large increase in military funding.
During his stop, Pence also dedicated a sign that will greet visitors at a veterans clinic. He met with American Samoan officials and troops and then flew to Hawaii at the last stop on a tour that included a visit to the Demilitarized Zone separating North and South Korea.

Marking Holocaust Remembrance Day on Monday, 28 Nissan, Yad Vashem launched a new online exhibition, “Last Letters from the Holocaust: 1942,” featuring ten emotional letters written by Jews before they were murdered. A two-minute siren sounded at 10:00am nationwide, marking the beginning of the day’s events.

BALTIMORE (WBFF) – A 15-year-old suspect who police described as a “repeat, violent offender” was arrested for a series of carjackings reported in the Park Heights neighborhood on Sunday.
The carjackings were reported between 1:45 a.m. and 8:25 p.m.

10:30 a.m.: 3100 block of Bancroft Rd (Honda Accord)

At Limmud FSU Moscow, the largest-ever festival for Russian-speaking Jews, Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked told the Moscow Jewish community that Israel “would be happy” if Russia moved its embassy to Jerusalem.

CityPass, operator of the Jerusalem light rail, announced that persons heading to Mount Herzl next week on Memorial Day will be able to ride for free. Persons heading to the official memorial will be able to get a free ride pass at the Central Bus Station from 8:00AM to 1:00PM on Memorial Day.
The light rail operator adds it will change its schedule on Memorial Day to accommodate the many expected riders heading to Mt. Herzl Military Cemetery. In addition, the light rail will operate the entire night on Independence Day.
However, in line with police instructions, the Jaffa Street/Center stop will be skipped during a period of time while festivities are taking place in the center of town.

The leader of al-Qaida urged his followers and other militants in Syria to unite ranks and prepare for protracted jihad, or holy war, in a recording released Sunday night.
Ayman al-Zawahri told the jihadis, who control Syria’s northwestern Idlib province and other territory, to remain steadfast and change tactics in order to wage guerrilla war.

Six survivors were honored to each light one of the six memorial flames.They were, 100-year old Elias Feinselberg, Berte Bedechi, Yair Saban, Eti Ben-Ari, Yakov Nachmius, and Chaya Edelman. Family members, including members of Knesset, children and grandchildren, supported the honorees. Brief videos with their stories were presented to the audience, and were broadcast live on Israeli television.

Although we have become obsessed with food in regard to weight loss, food is our nutrition and it provides us with the energy we need to function daily. What is it that food does for us? Food provides the energy and nutrients you need to be healthy. It is only by eating enough of a variety of foods that we get essential nutrition in order to maintain good health. In order to be healthy, we need to consume foods that give us the major categories of nutrition. Those categories are Carbohydrates, Proteins, Fats, Fiber, Water, Minerals and Vitamins. We confirm that the Chevrolet Impala that was carjacked at about 3:23 P.M. at Bancroft and Park Heights and which was later used in the 8:10 PM carjacking, was later recovered within a few blocks of where the suspects tried to evade officers.
Of the three suspects in the carjackings, one was caught. He is 16 years old, and was just arrested 3 weeks ago for armed robbery. Police had thought he was still in jail. We now understand that this person and his associates were involved in at least three of the four carjackings from Saturday night to Sunday evening.

Intelligence agency says terrorist who stabbed soldier quarreled with husband on Sunday night, hoped to die during terror attack.
The terrorist who stabbed a soldier on Monday morning at the Qalandia crossing has been identified at Asya Kaabana, 41, who lives in the Shechem (Nablus) area town of Duma, the Shin Bet security agency reported.
Kaabana is married and a mother of nine children, and recently has had marital problems, resulting in her husband threatening to send her back to her family in Jordan.

A female soldier was stabbed and wounded in her upper torso by a terrorist at the Kalandia Checkpoint, on Jerusalem’s northern border a short time ago.
According to the Magen David Adom report, she was injured in the area of her shoulder and is conscious. The terrorist was shot and wounded. More to follow.
