One passenger is known to have survived the crash of the Air India flight that went down shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad today (Thursday).
The lone survivor, identified as 40-year-old British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, was seated in 11A—right next to an emergency exit. In a remarkable act of survival, he reportedly jumped from the aircraft moments before its fatal plunge, the Hindustan Times reported.
Speaking from his hospital bed, Ramesh recalled scenes of devastation: "When I got up, there were bodies all around me. I was scared ... I stood up and ran. There were pieces of the plane everywhere."

A California senator was quickly rushed away from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem after he barged into her press conference addressing the Los Angeles anti-ICE riots.
After loudly speaking over Noem, Sen. Alex Padilla, D-Calif., was pushed out of the room by authorities as they ordered him to put his hands up.

Baltimore, MD - June 12, 2025 - Hundreds marched in southeast Baltimore Wednesday to protest what they say is the detention of at least 16 people in the region by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in the last three weeks, after raids at grocery stores, convenience shops and a Home Depot.
The peaceful protest and march was led by CASA, a nonprofit that provides support services for immigrants and advocates on their behalf.

AHMEDABAD, India (AP) — An Air India passenger plane bound for London crashed into a medical college in Ahmedabad after takeoff Thursday, killing at least 240 people in one of India’s worst airline disasters in decades, officials said.

Annapolis, MD - June 12, 2025 - Maryland Gov. Wes Moore announced a Customer Relief Fund on Thursday that will provide $19 million in relief for limited-and-middle-income customers of BGE during an anticipated increase in energy bills.
Moore was joined by officials from BGE, its sister utilities Pepco and Delmarva Power, and nonprofit partners from the United Way of Central Maryland, the Salvation Army, Harford Community Action Agency, and Shore UP! to announce the fund.
It's expected that the fund will provide BGE residential customers with $15 million, and eligible customers could qualify for a one-time grant ranging from $250 to $750.
For BGE, United Way of Central Maryland will administer the fund, with applications opening July 1.

Ahmedabad, India - June 12, 2025 - An Air India passenger plane bound for London with more than 240 people on board crashed Thursday in India’s northwestern city of Ahmedabad, the airline said.
Visuals on local television channels showed smoke billowing from the crash site in what appeared to be a populated area near the airport in Ahmedabad, a city with a population of more than 5 million.
The airline said the Gatwick Airport-bound flight was carrying 242 passengers and crew. Of those, Air India said there were 169 Indians, 53 Britons, seven Portuguese and one Canadian.

The commission recently voted 4-3 on a proposed map, with a report expected to reach the council by early next week.
