Baltimore, MD - June 3, 2024  - A conversation with the Winner Insulation team in advance of the first-ever Baltimore OJBA Expo Insulation.  It’s one of those hidden components of a building's construction that we don’t tend to give much thought to – certainly not as much as, say, final finishes such as flooring and light fixtures. Yet insulation can impact a person’s comfort and quality of life in their home even more than new marble countertops.  Even better?  While the government isn’t handing you money to remodel your kitchen, they do have cash available – thousands of dollars’ worth – to encourage you to upgrade your insulation.  That, coupled with the savings on your utility bills, can make an insula...

Baltimore, MD - May 31, 2024  - The Baltimore Kehila, is fortunate to have many wonderful assets, including our Mosdos Chinuch.  Our schools’ devoted faculties, engaged parent bodies, and dedicated lay leadership are unified in the schools’ sole mission of nurturing and educating our precious children. The Israeli Ministry of Defense has officially signed an agreement with the United States for the acquisition of a third squadron of F-35 fighter aircraft. The ministry indicates that a delegation to the United States recently signed a letter of agreement for this 3 billion dollar deal, which includes 25 stealth fighters built by Lockheed Martin. The planes will begin to be delivered from 2028, at a rate of three to five per year, the ministry said. These planes would bring the Israeli Air Force's F-35i fleet to 75 in the coming years. Only 36 of the original 50 F-35s ordered by Israel have been delivered to date. The deal amounts to some 3 billion dollars, funded by American military aid to Israel, according to the ministry. The signing of the agreement follows an almost resolved di...
The US House of Representatives on Tuesday passed legislation that would sanction the International Criminal Court (ICC) for requesting arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials, The Associated Press reported. The 247-155 vote amounts to Congress’ first legislative rebuke of the court since its decision last month to seek arrest warrants for the leaders of Israel and Hamas. The move was widely denounced in Washington. While the House bill was expected to pass, it failed to attract significant Democratic support, dulling its chances in the Senate. Both the Republican and Democratic leaders of the House Foreign Affairs Committee acknowledged the bill in question is unlikely to become law and left the door open to further ne...
